My neighbor hired A1 tree killer to trim my tree, they cut all the branches on his side on July 25, the hottest part of the summer, stressing my white pine that killed it. They did not respond to my calls. Buyer beware! Finally got a response, class act. 2nd pic read more

It's going on 2 weeks since my neighbor had tree and shrub work performed. Needless to say one of A-1 workers broke one of my windows in the process. Chris refused to give my mom the insurance info. to have window replaced. If all else fails I'll have window repaired and see them in small claims court. The property owners who hired A-1 wants to pay for repair since Chris isn't very responsive. Companies like this give small business owners a bad reputation. read more

I spoke to the owner it was a small job. He said he be back around 4 pm He nevered showed or called. So my Advice is they are Not Depenable So take it from here before you call read more

Shawn's crew did an amazing job... AGAIN! I hired A1 Tree Service to take down 7 trees on my property in Beachwood, NJ over 2 years ago. They were very affordable, professional, fast and cleaned up beautifully when they were done. When my mom needed to have a tree taken down in Brick, NJ this week, I called them again to request a quote. They quoted us the best price for the job and finished the project this afternoon - all in the same day. These men make up an efficient crew who expertly navigated around the power lines that were actually attached to the tree they were removing! They do what they say they will do and I have no fears of anyone trying to cut corners or trying get away with something. I confidently recommend them to anyone who needs expert tree removal. read more

I used them to trim some trees. Their workers are very unprofessional and the way they run their business is sketchy to say the least. The worker asked me to pay in cash or make the check out to Betty Knowles who is supposedly the owners wife. They didn't have a receipt to give me and after asking the office for it twice they still have not provided it. Seems like they are hiding money from their taxes. read more

They are a pleasure to deal with and very Professional. The work was done quickly with clean up. Call them now before you have leaves. I highly recommend them. Christine and Shawn helpful and informative. read more

I don't know Dan. We dealt with Chris to have a large tree in on our front lawn trimmed, plus some work in the back yard. They made the tree in the front yard look like a box rather than rounding it. Chris said it would fill out. But the real issue is with Chris keeping her word. The tree had a lot of dead branches that had to be removed. Chris said her pole saw was broken (Surprised a company as large as A1 has only one pole saw.) but she would be back the next day to finish the job. After a few days we called, she said she would be here "tomorrow", after several tomorrows we called again and got the same story. When my wife called a third time Chris got annoyed and started complaining about her workers. She was rude and her employees are not our problem. Last Friday I called the main office, got the answering service. I explained the situation and she told me one of the owners would call me back shortly. It's now Monday and still no call and the dead branches are still on the tree. We need more work done in the back as does our neighbor. In addition, one of our other neighbors approached Chris about doing some work for him. So this is three customers that are gone. Good work, Chris! read more

Dale and Sean were great to work with. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable! We needed a couple trees taken down and some trimmed and they did exactly that. Very pleased with the price and work. They were in and out so quick and cleaned everything up. Will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

We have used A-1 Tree Service approximately five times over the past six years. Every time, except for the last, they did a good job. It was their actions on the last job that prevent me from recommending them. Last autumn they took down a large oak tree on our property. In the process they damaged a brand-new aluminum shed. They readily acknowledged the damage and asked that I get a quote for the repair. I obtained the quote, contacted the crew, and they promised they would stop by later that week to make good on the claim. That never happened. I have contacted them at least TWENTY times during the past four months. They always have an excuse concerning their inability to contact the owner. Although they may do a good job, if they damage your property chances are good they will not make good on the damages. It leads me to think they do not carry liability/property insurance. read more

An employee came to my door and tried to pressure my elderly mother into having several trees removed claiming they were dead. Ive lived there 20 years with her, they are certainly NOT dead!! They claimed you couldnt tell because it was winter and one was dead of a fungus. Our one tree has a GENETIC mutation that affects it but it is very much alive! They were very rude and argued with me that THEY were the experts and wouldnt let my mother shut the door after several request by her! They had just taken down our elderly neighbors tree claiming it was blocking their solar panels, but their panels are in the BACK no where near the tree they removed! This companys employees are LIARS , making fraudulent claims and targeting and scamming the elderly! BEWARE! I'm glad I was there at the time they knocked on the door! read more

Lou and Dan were on point. They did everything we discussed on initial estimate. They were on our property for 3hours and the crew that was on the job were extremely polite and accommodating. They moved all furniture to start and was very thorough during clean up. read more

Used this company a few days ago to remove heavy branches over my roof. They were quick, efficient and cleaned up after themselves for a decent price. I highly recommend them!! read more

I did not like them I called to try to get my tree removed they took months to get back to me. Once they finally did they very unprofessional, they did not clean up after themselves I had to hire someone else to finish the rest of the job that they never even completed or gave me a discount of what I went through. I would not recommend them to anyone very poor job and unprofessional. read more

I must say, the prices are wonderful compared to the other tree company's. But the customer service is not very good, although the staff was very nice and did a good job. I was not 100% satisfied with the what was done. And when I called the owner, he blew me off several times. And promised to come back and take a look at what I was not happy with, but never did. It got to the point where I just stopped calling. It was clear by our last conversation on the phone that he had no intention of coming back. He also feels like he did some kind of service for free. Even though I paid him $150 for his service. I don't think I will have them back. I don't mind paying a little bit more, to get better service. I'm disappointed, because their prices are very fair. read more

A1 Tree Service was such a Blessing for Us!Very Professionally, thorough, meticulous Tree removal company. Due to the several winter storms -we had a lot of trees to be trimmed and some cut. I had more that 15trees cut down in my property. This was a One day job with a wonderful group of 5 tree cutters. They all work so well together from the moment they got here to the end of the job!! Nico, Keith and the rest was so proactive, friendly and so efficient!! But the jewel behind this team is Christine!! She amazingly had her guys do what she envisioned during her estimate. And the Prize was so reasonable!! A1 Tree Service- My Husband and I highly recommend!! read more

We were putting up a new fence and decided to put it to the property line which was overgrown with tress and brush. Called A1 and got a decent price so decided to go with them instead of looking at other companies. The job they did was ok, although I don't think it was completely finished. Was unhappy with them taking down a 10 year old red maple that was not near the tress and brush they were supposed to be clearing. And was extremely upset when I looked to see that a dogwood tree that was no where near where they were working (at least 30 feet away) and was planted to mark the spot where 2 of my dogs are buried was completely stripped of all its branches. The excuse given was they must have dragged brush across the yard and across my paver patio which was also marked up. Was going to use this company to doing the grading but now will never use again read more

A1 tree SERVICE came out and removed all of my trees yesterday and I could not be more happy with the work! Christine was up front with me from the very beginning and they gave me an awesome price. They worked swiftly and cleaned up after the job and removed all of the trees we discussed. Thank you so much!!! read more

I absolutely regret ever allowing A1 tree service to set foot on my property.A few months back hired we A1 to remove about seven tall trees from our back yard. Now keep in mind we have a large flagstone patio at the rear of our home and for some reason unbeknownst to us the A1 crew decided that it would be smart to let the trees fall onto it as they were cutting them down and that lead to our once pristine patio now having large craters and cracked flagstone everywhere. To add insult to injury we only found out about the damage after we'd moved a tarp of which they'd used from our yard to cover the damaged flagstone. We immediately reached out to A1 about the damage and then and only then did they admit that they'd damaged our property. They never even attempted to right their wrong or even apologize for damaging our property and we're now presently in small claims court fighting for damages that we're rightfully entitled to and believe it or not they admit to damaging our property but absolutely refuse to hand over a penny to us to remedy the situation...smh. We've heard horror stories about this company and now we're experiencing it first hand so please do yourself a favor and don't walk, RUN as fast as you can and find a company that actually gives a shit because this one doesn't. All they care about is profit not quality or customer satisfaction. read more

I am a widow and live in a senior development in Toms River. I had many trees and brushes that were over grown and dangerous to my new home and neighbors. I had everything removed from the property. The work was done in November 2017. This spring I had the lawn company come to give me an estimate on putting soil, seed and plants on the bare ground. Much to my dismay they could not do that because there are tree stubs at ground level, so nothing can ground in the areas where the tree's were removed. So I have not a plant on my property because of this company. I called and texted Chris April 5th, she texted me and said they would be out to look. NEVER CAME! I then called the Brick office, got the answering service lady, she was so sweet and concerned, I'll get right back to you, that was April 18th..NEVER CALLED!! I recommend A1 Tree to many people including my neighbor's and rebuked that and told them of what happened. Yes Chris is such a sweetheart until there is a situation and after paid in full with a tip. I tried to dig out the smaller roots where the bushes were and seriously injured my knee's and I will see them in small claims court.. read more

A1 tree service is a great company. They do a tremendous job. We had two trees removed in Beachwood and the price was more than fair. They are the only tree company we would recommend to everyone. THANKS A1.....you get an A+. read more
