We contacted JBS Tree Service over two months ago, and they came out promptly to provide us with a very reasonable estimate to trim our arborvitaes and remove a tree when they were scheduled to do our neighbor's yard. Although they completed our neighbor's property on 5/15/26 and initially did not do ours, I left a message expressing my disappointment. To their credit, they came back the very next morning at 8:00 a.m. and did a beautiful job. Our arborvitaes have never looked better, and you would never even know a tree had been removed. They were unable to grind the stump because of the Belgian block surrounding the area, but they cut it so cleanly that you can barely tell it is there. Made several phone calls in addition to text messages to the JBS salesperson after receiving tree work estimate. Never received callback nor text message response. Called office and was told the salesperson should be calling back. Never received callback. If this unresponsiveness is how JBS Tree treats a new potential customer, I will not use them nor recommend them to anyone. read more

JBS did a wonderful job taking down the big oak trees in my yard that were dying. They were very professional and friendly. It was a pleasure watching them work, they operated extremely well together. They cleaned up all the leaves and branches and it looks like we never even had trees in those spots. Sloppy. Loud. Zero regard for anything living in the trees they blow to smitherenes. Start running their equipment way before the landscape hours of operations. No regard for neighbors. Parking all sorts of trucks in front of driveways and mailboxes of home they're not working at. Occupying and blocking the entire road. Overall super unprofessional. read more

In the end, we regretted hiring JBS. Pros: -They had more availability than other companies -Good price -Trees came down successfully Cons: -They were not able to schedule a specific date, but gave me a week-long range. At the end of that week, they told me it would actually be the following Friday. No big deal, but would have preferred sticking to a specific date. -They also agreed to leave us a pile of wood, but did not. Again, no big deal, but additional miscommunication. -Some damage to our walkway and patio. (Also damage to our grass, but we were expecting that). -Damaged our neighbor's yard after telling us they would not. This is when everything went downhill. At first they were super apologetic and agreed to fix it, but kept putting it off, which was similar to how they delayed doing our original work. If they addressed it quickly as they agreed to all would have gone well. But as time went on our neighbor got more concerned and JBS got a lot less concerned. By the time someone came out it was too late in the fall for grass to grow, and they did not treat our neighbor (who was very angry at this point) well at all. I called and asked to speak to the owner, and the office manager who was originally very helpful told me he probably wouldn't have time to call me back but she would ask. Since it's been a few months now, it's clear he never made time. While I think they do good work removing trees, I would prefer to work with a more reliable company who is willing to talk with their customers. read more

I had them come out and trim two oak trees. While trimming the trees, the hydraulic line on the bucket truck burst spraying fluid all over my yard and cars causing 3k worth of damage. I understand accidents happen. Now the owner Justin says he could have made the repairs cheaper and doesn't want to pay. Mind you Justin never contacted me until I asked to be reimbursed. I had JBS Tree Service at my home June 6, 2023 to remove several trees. I have had other tree companies in the past but Justin and JBS were by far the best. They were very proficient and cleaned up afterwards as if they weren't there. One tree was at least 40 foot tall with three trees in one trunk and hanging over my house and my neighbors. Recently moved to NJ and needed some trees removed. JBS is a Reliable and affordable tree service company! Called about a month ago for an estimate and was able to schedule one conveniently for my busy schedule. They came out and gave me a great price for 2 large oak trees($500 -$1000 less than other companies). About 3 weeks later, the crew came out and did a great job. All of the employees were polite and efficient. Cleaned up all the debris and left minimal marks on my lawn.. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs tree work. read more

There was just a little mix up about the scheduling time, but other than that, all went smooth. They took out a tree along with the stump. They were concerned about the plants around it. I was about to dig them up with my trowel. They stopped me and dug them up for me with a much bigger shovel. Nice guys. I also had branches trimmed back. They made sure it how I wanted it. Boy, was I had! We hired JBS Tree "Expert" in Sept 2019 to remove a very small, dead tree and grind down the stump;. They did an OK job on the tree removal; not so great on stump grinding. We had them come back in Nov 2019 for a much larger 2nd job of trimming down 2 large trees and cutting back all the over-hanging branches from my neighbors yard into mine. On the morning of the scheduled appointment Justin, one of the owners, came by to tell his crew who arrived separately what was supposed to be done and then sped off. I was just recovering from eye surgery so I was unable to adequately access the "completed" job but on (literally) blind faith I paid over $2200 to his crew. In mid-Dec 2019 I texted Justin to come by and see the contracted work which had not been completed. He promised he would come by the following week---never happened! I texted him again and he said he didn't have a chance but was, at that time, in Vermont until the end of Jan 2020. In the end of Jan 2020 I texted Justin again to find out if he was back and could the job be completed as contracted. He told me that he would not be back until mid-Feb 2020 but he had come by before he went to Vermont(evidently not remembering or even bothering to look back to what he had previously texted in Dec 2019-such attention to detail speaks for itself) and that I could PAY he to complete the job he already charged me $2200+ for! I texted him again mid-Feb 2020 with photos of uncompleted work and have yet to hear back. JBS Tree "Experts" may, I repeat MAY,. be OK for the smallest of jobs but they are not to be trusted with anything larger jobs which required real experts and integrity. I had a very large silver maple in my front yard. Branches were hanging over the house and the street. I called JBS and they sent someone over and give me a great offer which i accepted. They said it would be two weeks before they could come, but they called a couple of days later with an opening . They came right on time . I have seen many trees cut down in my life and these guys put the rest to shame. They did an awesome job on a large tree and were done in less then three hours including stump grinding. AWFUL COMPANY!! I hired JBS over the phone. Owner was nice and price was good. MY BIGGEST MISTAKE WAS PAYING BEFORE THEY CUT! When they arrived one guy worked out of a bucket the other guy used a ladder on another tree. The bucket guy was very sloppy and not careful around my brand new pool....which I covered with a tarp. My neighbor came out screaming and stopped the job and he left. The other guy was still in the other tree with a ladder. He barely cut anything because he could not reach. Someone from the company came by to pick up the guy and his ladder. I called the office and told the woman I paid full price and the whole job was not complete! I asked her to send them back and finish. I paid full price and did not get my moneys worth of cutting. She had the owner call me back. He was sort of understanding, yet at the same time had an attitude for my phone call. He said soon they would return. Two weeks passed and I called the office, the owner got on the phone and was extremely rude and sarcastic. He told me when they were in the area they would come back. He referenced Google Maps and told me when my address came up on his map he would stop. HE WAS OBNOXIOUS AND COCKY AND GAVE THE FEELING HE WAS TOO BUSY FOR ME AND MY TREES. This was well over a month ago. I have seen his trucks pass my block multiple times and so far no JBS truck has stopped. I am not surprised. JBS came to my house to trim and remove a small tree. They brought a small piece of equipment in to dig out the roots. They tried several times and couldn't get the roots out so they ground the roots. While trying to dig out the roots, they severed a line to my underground sprinkler system. They didn't bother to tell me what happened just turned the water off on the side of the house. They also broke pavers to the walkway at the site of the small tree. I was supposed to get my trees cut back .justin came by in June and gave me an estimate for $750 but said if I could wait till 2nd or 3rd week in July because of pandemic. I said sure and that was that. Than he called the end of July because someone canceled and I said ok ,I took all my stuff away and waited so finally at 3pm I called and the girl in office said they weren't coming because of rain . Ok I had to call them they never called me to cancel.Than she sent me an email saying they were backed up for 2 more weeks because of the tropical storm ok and than she called today and asked if they could come Monday ok fine but when they had called the second time because I am out of work and my husband's hrs. Were cut we asked justin if he could take 100 off and he said okay. Well today I spoke to Ryan who is his brother and he was so rude and he told me I never spoke to justin about the 100 off it was him I spoke to . They are liars and con artists. I told them forget it. He said yeah u should call someone else. Well what an unprofessional company and they lie terribly. He told me justin said my job was 950 and was giving it to me for 750 because he knew my cousins. What a liar Justin turned out to be. His brother Ryan was so rude too. Too young I guess to be professional. All they want is money. Btw I gave it 1 star because I wasn't able to post any other way. I wouldn't have given it none because they were terrible from the get go Ryan called me because I left him a nasty v/m but when he called he restricted his number and than said he didn't give a flying blank if i thought that they screwed me. Let me start off by saying if I could give 0 stars I would have. My family and I were on vacation Aug 18-22 and JBS went into my backyard without our permission and cut all the branches off a tree and left just the tree trunk (it looked ridiculous). A little back story- the people behind us (whom I've only met once) were complaining about the branches in our yard were hanging over their fence so when JBS showed up they told them it was okay to go in our yard. No call came from either parties to us asking for permission. When we got back from vacation we immediately called and Ryan said he would come out in 2 weeks to take the rest of the tree down. He did not show up. I called him this past Friday and threatened legal action. He yelled and told me to F* off. He also told me he doesn't do charity work. Later that day he called my husband and said he would come Monday. He came Monday without notification and cut the tree down. At this point I'm just happy I can move on from this mess.
