The job ended up being more than estimated bc he found a second septic tank that none of us knew about, so I was ok with the increase. After he completed the job, I got a phone call explaining everything that was done as well as the findings & later received a report. The customer service & attention to detail was excellent. He properly took care of an outside faucet issue that was "repaired" previously 24 months before. I noticed my outside faucet was slightly spraying water from the "repair part" recommended two years prior. In April 2024, I called Harvey Baker Plumbing to fix this faucet as it was leaking from the knob at the time. A young gentleman came and said he did not have the part on his vehicle to replace it (something to do with the pipe size), but he could "repair" it. However, I would not be able to turn the water on and off from the faucet knob. He said the nozzle at the end of the hose would serve as the on/off mechanism. When I discovered the current leak, I called and the receptionist said she could get someone out between 12-2 the next day. I explained the previous situation above and said I definitely want the faucet "replaced" this time. She looked up my previous invoice and said she would note on the ticket the faucet should be replaced rather than repaired. Next day, she called again and said she could have the technician come out earlier if I was available. I said I was and Juan came 15 minutes later, a little after 10am. He was a joy to work with, smiling and providing great conversation and expertise! I explained everything and he said he had the necessary part to rectify the leak. He did a great job. When I got the invoice, I noticed the parts only cost $33 compared to the "repair" part of $10. I was surprised the previous gentleman couldn't drive 4 miles to the office to get the necessary part and recommended the "repair" instead. I estimated I could have saved approximately $200 of labor charges had the work been properly completed the first time. I would have requested the previous technician get the necessary part had I known the difference in part costs was minimal. At least the "repair" lasted 2 years. I will probably continue to use Harvey Baker Plumbing in the future, but I'll make sure I request a more seasoned technician like Juan next time. Final note - Harvey Baker Plumbing now charges a 3% credit card fee on the invoice, which was not their practice previously. It was not a big deal to me ($7.75), and I understand a family business would prefer cash or a check. If I have a major plumbing issue in the future, at least now I am aware of the added fee.

I will forever be grateful to Jason with A1 Septic. We had an issue with our septic and had it pumped out three times by other companies and each of those companies told us we needed a new Drain Field. so we priced out about 4 different companies and A1 Septic was the best price that fit our budget to be able to handle. the day came for them to come out and install the new Drain Field and Jason called and told me he didn't feel right to charge me for something he didn't believe we actually needed. I was so thankful and appreciative to him for taking the time to actually look at everything and see that most likely all we need is a new power outlet outside for the pump to hook up to. because that outlet was corroded and kept tripping the breaker and turning the pump off which is why we kept backing up into the yard. He refunded us our down payment and fixed a water line and was on his way. I appreciate his honesty and not just taking advantage of a young family new to everything septic. He took the time to explain how it all works and he looked at our field and said it was probably only 10 years old. I have read the other not so good reviews and must say I had as good an experience as ever. I have had three septic drain fields installed ( 1 new 2 replacement)and the other two did not compare to A-1 septic. My quote was $3050 and wound up at $3650 due to a county health dept. requirement and it took a week longer than their estimate to complete and again due to the county inspection. Extreme care was taken when covering the field and they even repaired my sprinkler system that had to be removed during digging. My field was left open for four days again due to the county and I looked to see if I could detect any drainage and no the septic tank was not pumped prior to installation. I'll be back. read more

Beware of This Company - Poor Service and No Accountability We hired this company for a service in August, expecting a thorough job. However, it became clear that they did not clean our septic system properly. We initially thought we had a plumbing issue and called a plumbing company. When the plumber arrived to perform a hydro jet job, he informed us that the septic system had not been cleaned at all. We tried to contact the company to address this issue, but they claimed that we had used too much water in a month and a half, voiding any warranty. This response is unacceptable and shows a lack of accountability. We strongly advise against using their services. read more

They need better project management!…read more I had my septic inspected in mid-February, and it was determined that it needed to be replaced. A week later, someone came out to take a soil sample for testing, and I was told that a permit application would be submitted to the Health Department that same week. After two weeks of not hearing back (now into March), I reached out and was told everything was fine and that the application had been submitted. I followed up by text for the next two weeks and was repeatedly told the application was still being processed. When I finally called the Health Department, I was informed that no application had ever been received. Despite this, the company insisted it was in the permitting phase and even claimed they would call to try to expedite the process. A week later, when I checked with the Health Department again, I learned the application had just been received. In other words, they lied to me about submitting it and gaslit me throughout the process. By the time the project was completed, it was already April. When I asked for a discount because of the delays and dishonesty, their response was that the "paperwork issue wasn't [their] fault." I also spoke to the owner of a house two blocks down that was using this same company to replace their septic and they were having issues with communication as well.
