This septic business owner Freddie clearly has lied in his response to my google review post of his inability to locate the septic tank. His company came to the home on Saturday. I live 3 hours away and did not come to the home until Sunday. My realtor also was not present when this A-1 Septic company claims they were present. My realtor told me the company showed up 4 hours before the scheduled visit he was to be present for. I therefore was not in Orlando and definitely was not present at the home as he posted. Alexander, Freddie's employee, wanted me to pay request $1375 as he claimed the bushes needed to be removed Freddie's worker, Alexander, texted that the septic tank was located behind landscaping next to the front of the home. The home inspector used a camera and located the tank 45 feet in the front yard where there was no landscaping. Last, when a camera video of the tank location from the home inspector was provided, Freddie tried to "hold me hostage" and demanded that I remove my yelp review. When I refused, he then tried to collect $275 when he provided no service. I looked his company up on the BBB website and it said he was not rated. This is a bad company! read more

They literally did zero work at my house. They said I had to remove my bougainvillea to get to the lid to remove solids. I am considering my options because I love that bush. It has been less than 10 days since he came and literally did nothing but look at my yard and now I get a letter stating they are going to place a lien on my house unless I pay them $280! read more

I'm saddened to see these few negative reviews, because I had the best experience with this company. My neighbors HIGHLY recommended them and I was hesitant because I read these reviews before calling A1. Tom showed up when he said he would, then gave me a quote that was WAYYY better than I had gotten (companies like to pad the bill with extra "necessities"-- but not this one), and a team showed up later the same day to complete the replacement of the broken lid on the septic tank. From my phone call to the company, to Tom showing up to assess, to them digging up the yard with a backhoe and putting it back together like nothing happened... everyone was professional, courteous, and friendly. I was very happy with the price and the work completed. I will only use these guys and will recommend them to everyone. Dishonest and unethical company. There are other septic companies in this area who offer better and honest service. I hired this company to do a pre-house purchase inspection for the house in which I am now currently living. The only uncovered one of the access ports of the two chamber septic tank. During their inspection, they backfilled into the septic tank and said that it was not draining adequately and the drain field was only operating at 40-50% capacity. They said I would need a new drain-field at a cost of almost $10,000. After purchasing the home, I reached out to other septic companies to get additional quotes for a drain field repair. Multiple other septic companies said it would be highly unusual for a house as young as mine to already need a septic drain field replacement. I paid one of these other companies to do another inspection. They uncovered both ports of the septic tank, which is standard practice. The simple reason why the tank was training slowly, was that the filter needed to be removed and sprayed off with a garden hose. In short, my house had no need for a replacement drain field and just needed simple maintenance of spraying off the septic tank drain filter. I reached out to A-1 septic to ask why both septic tank ports were not accessed during the inspection and why the filter was not confirmed to be the cause of the slow draining before recommending a $10,000 septic drain field replacement. They replied saying, "we don't look at the filter during the inspection." Other companies I reached out to said they would look at the filter if they noted slow draining of the septic tank during an inspection. I attempted to resolve the issue with A-1 septic, but they refused. Companies like this do not deserve your money since they will lie to you and attempt to sell you services that you do not need. read more

Worst experience I've had with a business. Destroyed my lawn unnecessarily. Tried to justify unnecessary destruction of my lawn and was very rude/inconsistent with explanation. Ripped out utilities and did not inform me. Tried to hide said utilities. Very erratic schedule. Some of the work crew was terminated mid-job for some other offenses. A-1 Septic has been pumping My septic tank for many years. A couple of weeks after last pump, the tenant complained toilet backing up again. Another company was called in and found that the inlet tank was full of solids and have not been pumped for many years. The proper way to pump septic is to pump both inlet and exit compartments including all solids. Companies like A-1 will fool you around for many years until your septic system fails. then they will make big money rebuilding the septic fields. read more

We clearly communicated our issue that our main line was clogged, sent photos and they said they could come out and unclog and solve this issue. They came out, spent 10 minutes on site to tell us what we already knew. Said they could not come in our home and unclog it. CHARGED US $175 FOR NOTHING. When we said that was not what they told us over the phone and via text. Then asked who we could talk to dispute/resolve the charge. From my first contact when i went to talk to the person checking on the work they did for a neighbor to me hiring them and finally seeing the end result. I can not recommend then any higher. After 17 years I finally found the company I trust and know their prices are in line with others . they specifically asked us not to run laundry during inspection for the septic drain field they did for us. we didn't think anything of it. turns out, they didn't want us to do it because these jerks took apart our laundry line and never put it back together! they buried it and thanks to their laziness and trying to cut corners, our laundry room flooded because the pile got clogged from the dirt they had to pour back over the drain field. they wouldn't come out to fix it because they said per the contract damage caused is responsibility of the homeowner, but it technically wasn't broken- they purposefully took something apart and promised to put it back together but didn't. do not recommend. So disappointed in this company, and as a business owner I am very cautious on leaving reviews, I wait until I cool off from a crappy experience, but it's been a few months and I am confident that this business screwed us and as a business owner, I would t for business this way. read more

Had appointment made Saturday for following Tuesday between 12-2:00pm Drove all way from Clermont to be there at 12:00 Called at 11:30 , said we were not scheduled, Promised to have truck that day , as scheduling was their mistake .Called at least 6 times and we waited & waited until 6:oopm then drove back to Clermont. Month later septic still full & when called was told problem was pump this time & they tried charge $1k for it. When their service was refused, they sent me letter saying I breached contract & a charge of $175 for "service call" according them on estimate, but without anyone there mentioning or telling me before hand was going get that charge, basically trying EXTORTION this time to get money for doing nothing & threatening put illegal lien in my house 1300 miles away. DO NOT HIRE this company or you will pay the price, bottom line, they bunch crooks with poor knowledge of the business they in & using FRAUD & EXTORTION get pay. If similar happened to you make the complaint with Better business bureau & FL department consumer affairs to put these crooks out business for good. Get your facts straight, you supposedly empty the tank on October 21 at which time no one indicated anything of sorts defective pump. Very unprofessional managers do not call back as they state they will. A1 septic was contracted to pump my septic tank due to a back up inside the house on a tuesday they came out only pumped a quarter of my tank. When i got home from work i checked my tank due to house still being backed up and it was still 3/4 full and none of the solids or grease had been sucked out. They told me they pumped my tank and my drain field had back flowed to the tank and filled it again... so i dug up my tank to find my junction box to my drain field had collapsed and all of the fingers were full of dirt and the soil was completely dry. They quoted me $2400 to repair something they never inspected in the first place. Plus they charged me a additional $75 service fee that was supposed to be free since they were going to pump the tank.. if you use this company beware they do not stand behind there work and they do not get back in touch with you when they say they will. read more

Contacted A-1 for a pump out and to see if our drain field was working properly, we had used them before for a pump out. They came out on 3/5/18 and pumped out but Nick stated we needed a new drain field. He said he couldn't give an exact price because the county would determine what was needed, but estimated between $7,000 and $9,000. While he was here, my husband seemed to be having a stoke so I had to call 911. I went ahead and signed for a new drain field as I had no idea what was happening to my husband. On 3/27 Nick said the final price was $9,500. I paid not knowing any better, under the circumstances I didn't get any other quotes. A couple months later, on our local Facebook site, the question arose about drain fields and many people responded saying they paid between $3500 and $5300 with someone saying another quote was for $6800. I wrote the owner a letter asking for an explanation on June 27, received no reply, so sent an email and was told on 7/19 I would get a reply within 72 hours. I never heard anything further. I definitely feel that we as senior citizens were taken advantage of and I would not recommend them. I assume the drain field is working correctly, we have not had any problems other than we can't get grass to grow on the sand they used. read more

Today I contacted A1. I was referred by a trusted plumber to address some septic concerns that I had. The A1 agent was friendly and accommodating. The job was out of their service area and, for a small additional charge, they were still willing to help and the estimate was more than reasonable. It is so important to trust something this important to someone reliable and of good repute. In the end, as I am environmentally conscientious I opted to go with a service that was closer but I decided to write the review because I am certain, given my short interaction with this company that I would have been more than satisfied with the work they would have done.
