Never, EVER, use this company. The practices it uses are unethical and dishonest. And it will cost a lot of money! Every time the device had to be calibrated there were problems such as "bad blows" even though no alcohol was ever used (fine by the company imposed). From "bad blows" to tampering (never touched the device, fine imposed) to lockouts (unknown reason, had to have vehicle towed to company garage, more money) and damage to the mouthpiece sensor from smoke????? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This place has a really good price at first however I've known many people who have used this service. They all got charged an exorbitant amount for a broken plastic collar. When mine was installed I made sure to inspect this piece and noticed my collar had 3 fractures in it to start. My girlfriend and I asked the employee to change it or take note. He said they would but did neither of these things. These people really could make this piece out of a more durable material. HOW I haven't had anything to eat or drink, so I had to pull over and wait 40 minutes, I did that and blew into the devise and it came back ZERO on the machine, then two days later it completely shuts my car down, won't start. So I call them and they say I need the mobile app start and I went through that with them and couldn't get it to work at all, but they still charged me 160 dollars.. Then they give me a code to get it started to get it in to do the recalibration, so I do that, well guess what another 190 dollar charge for them touching it for less than 5 minutes, what a racket SMH. They repeatedly charged me fees for a payment they said was not processing, bank never showed them trying to pull the payment and I KNOW I had the money to pay them. Bottom line is A1 interlock has charged us $1200 AFTER we had paid them all money that was owed and had the ignition lock removed. I was told that the interlock was $50.00 per month with free installation and free calibrations. I was charged $100.00 for installation when they sent out a mobile installer. Never told me that there would be an extra chare for mobile install. Then when I needed service and was able to get in the same day they charged me $25.00 for a same day appointment. I was never given a contract just signed on the installers cell phone that the device was installed. I teach an AA recovery group and I do not recommend them to any of the clients. I read the positive and the negative reviews for A1 and in my experience they are both partially correct. I dont write reviews, this is the only one ever! I have used this service for almost three years now and I can agree with some of the positive comments regarding complaint's from shady people that are just making their own problems because they dont follow the rules or try to find away around the system. ( Its not my fault people) BUT, There is Definitely validity to some of the complaint's! The first 2 1/2 years of my contract went pretty smoothly I thought. There was a few things that stood out as odd ( like random unauthorized charges to my bank account) and also being treated as it was my fault and they attempted to charge me for coming in a week early because the device needed serviced. I was told "it was NOT their fault I had to many violations so it triggered the service mode", and that was before he had even looked at it to find out to his own surprise that I had none. But for the most part the issues were resolved and I attributed their attitudes and poor customer relations to having an overload of the "Its Not My Fault" D-bags to deal with on the daily. THEN, In August I showed up for my standard appointment ( I go in every 3 months) and while the service tech was calibrating my device in my vehicle I received a call from the service center, Since I was paying cash at the appointment (because of a bank issue completely my fault) I asked if I should just pay the tech. The extremely short and rude woman on the line then informed me that there was some frayed wires that would need to be replaced on my handset. ( the insulation that houses the smaller individual wires was cracked at the base of the handset. there was no exposed wires or malfunctions and it had been that way for almost 2 years.) And that the cost was going to be $350 for that plus my service fee as well as a fee for more than 3 violations in a month ( which by the way is 3 in 3 months for me because it is actually 3 in a service period so different rules for different people) So my total that day was going to be almost$600. I Admitted to her that I was aware of one violation, I was guilty, but asked if she or anyone cold tell me the dates and times of the other 2 or if I could see the report? To which I was told "NO You just have to pay". I then told her that I didnt have that much funds available today and asked if we could Schedule a time to fix it the following week Which i was again told NO " you have to Find The Money" or they would Not service my vehicle. when I looked to the parking lot where my car USED TO BE, it was gone. The tech had taken it to the garage around back and they were holding it hostage. I called Sandy City PD and reported my car stolen, when the officer showed up he informed me that these guys are known for these shady business practices and that we would get it worked out. Needless to say, I am no longer doing business with them and the device removed I also have an invoice stating PAID IN FULL dated Aug 27th But apparently They forgot because they have continued to charge my account on the 16th of the month for Sept & Oct! ***This is for the Sandy, UT location*** I never leave reviews, but my experience with this company is awful, and I would like to give caution to anyone that is considering using them. I'm sure this will either be removed, or the manager will try to give some BS response to what I am about to say. If I could give less than the 1 star, I would. I have been using this company since June of 2020. The only thing they care about is taking your money. See the below: 1.) If you set up an appointment, make sure you keep it, because they will invoice you $25.00 as a no-show, even if you have called. They do not care what kind of emergency you have. They just want your money. 2.) Because of the incredibly terrible treatment Matt (who I am pretty sure is the manager) gives their customers, I wanted to get my interlock device removed and move to another company. When I called them, they told me it was going to cost me (of course), and they were going to give me a call back to tell me how much it was. I am month to month. I have no contract, so I'm unsure why it would cost me anything after I have already paid for the install and the monthly service. Also- I never got a call back. 3.) Matt gets some kind of sick pleasure from upsetting his customers. I am unsure if it is some sort of inferiority complex he has, or if he simply thinks that because we made the mistake that requires the interlock device that he is better than us and we are all just garbage. The last I spoke with him, he was shouting into the phone to e to "Have a GREAT day" and then hung up. He is unwilling to help anyone that is PAYING HIM for services, which brings me to the below: 4.) The last time I came in to get my vehicle recalibrated, he ran my card for an advanced TWO MONTHS worth of services without my permission. This is after I paid for the appointment ahead of time- before even showing up- to ensure that I would get taken care of upon my arrival. When I asked him, he said backstopped and said the he "assumed." Because I thought that it would be beneficial to have them paid in advance, I let it go, even though it was wrong. Immediately after they recalibrated my vehicle, it was showing difficulty starting. Eventually, my vehicle went completely dead. I had work to go to, and I needed to find a way to get my children (I cannot operate a vehicle without one installed) without violating the current terms of my violation. I tried for two and a half hours with no one answering the calls. I was hung up on twice. I tried every option on the directory and the only line that answered was Kevin with installs. He told me that he would have the office call me back. No one called back. I tried Kevin again, and he told me to "try option 3, I know they're at least answering that line." So I did. Matt answered the phone. He asked me if I had followed all the steps to get my vehicle to start. I told him I did. He then told me that I would have to tow my vehicle in at my cost and said that it was not due to the recent visit that my car wasn't starting. He said it was my fault, and that it "must be something I am doing to my car that is causing the device too short." When I laughed at him because I had only been driving it for the last few days, and there is nothing mechanically wrong with my vehicle, he yelled at me and told me that it was "too bad", and that I need to get it towed to their facility for service. This is after I had dumped almost $400 in one day at their place and paid in advance. BOTTOM LINE: Go somewhere else! Even if it is $20 more a month. Absolutely horrible company. I wonder if the owners know how bad this company is being ran. Their device gets a fault right after a few days of being installed or serviced. I live an hour away so getting my device serviced is not ideal every week. I got a new bank card and forgot to update them with the new number, so 3 months went by without a payment from me. Honest mistake. Figured they would charge me the past months to catch me up and I would be good. They charged me a total of $761.20 on a bunch of different charges. Ridiculous. I wish I would have read the reviews on this company because it looks like the consensus is they are a terrible company. Someone else said they are a predatory company. Doesn't even deserve a one star if I'm being completely honest. My BIL had to have one in his car for the last two years and it's been nothing but problems with this company. My mom helped out once and paid with her card and specifically told them NOT to keep it on file because it was a one time thing. Months following they would charge her card if there was a late payment on my sisters behalf, even after emailing them and calling multiple times to remove it they absolutely refused. It's come the time where it's time to get it out and they're refusing to give the car back until they pay outrageous fees and refusing to give the paperwork to prove the reasoning for the charges (because they're all bogus and know they'll get caught lying and it'll be an easy win for my BIL if they were to go to court) they're predators, that's the easiest way to explain it. Avoid this company at ALL costs. If the courts want you to have one ask for a different company. They absolutely should not be in business by the way they handle things. They will not work with you. Then a month early I went out to start my truck and it wouldn't start. And when I called the office the secretary assured me there would be no service charge to come to my house and unlock it. My interlock device was calibrated on 8/26, and on 8/29 I noticed that the company (A1 interlock in Sandy Utah) had charged me for my calibration, even though I am already set up on AUTO PAY. I was under the impression I was paying $25 for missing an appointment... They took the information they have on file for me, the man working there confirmed he was charging the correct card (again, for the missed apt. not the calibration) I said yes, but was never given a total amount being charged, he never took me into the office, and I never signed anything in regards to the charges. My auto payment cleared on 8/26 and I was again manually charged on 8/27 for the same amount. I called A1 interlock on Thursday, 8/29 and spoke to Blake, he said there was nothing they could do about it and I had to speak to "Billing" I was given a number and when I called it wouldn't stop ringing. I found another number online for Skyfine and was again told he couldn't help me, and that the only way to resolve it was to email some guy named Sean. I emailed Sean many times that Thursday, Friday and again on Tuesday 9/3 and Wednesday 9/4. I also emailed skyfine directly on their site. It has now been almost one week and no one has had the courtesy to respond. Because I budget almost to the penny, this company's negligence resulted in my account going into the negative... leading to additional charges from my bank for insufficient funds. this company is evil. on the day I got my device installed I had to ask a question and opened the door and heard their techs making racist remarks about my children. whe confronted they denied it and refuse/threatened to get my device removed would cost over 1500 dollars. I could not use the override code as they had promised and I was charged $400 on one day to get my car started and that was not even for the monthly service. I didn't have any negative tests and when I called the man patronized me. i have even called in twice to have them take a look at the device records and still have not heard back. they take minimum a half hour to get through to customer service and offer the option to call you back but they let it ring twice or hang up as soon as you pick up. it is a nightmare to have this company. even where I don't drink anymore its terrifying everda living in fear because they will throw bogus charges at you. they force you to pay for their app which is useless. i don't have the original card I put on for autopay but they do have a valid card yet I get charged $35 declined charges every month even though a payment has never been late. today I was charged 70$ in late fee's on a $58 monthly service and then they ran a separate invoice and charged me $35 for a $8 charge for their app which they force you to have. this company is evil and prey on people in bad situations. please contact me if you are involved or want to get this place out of business read more

The only reason why anyone even gives a review here is because they bribe people with giving them "free" interlock devices then they check it first to make sure you give them a good one. Anyone who has paid for a code from them that they claim they pay the state for just ask next time which agency they supposedly pay because there isn't one. I found that they lied about this to several people. They also claim the devices are made here which is also not true they are not listed as a manufacture on the business license they hold. Extremely dissatisfied with their service! They honestly do not care for their customers. I wishI had read all the other negative reviews about this place before signing a contract with them. I ONE HUNDRED percent agree with all the "They're CROOKS" comments because they really are. I waited 3 hours for them to install the device and after the the installation, all my exterior lights were not working. After calling and telling them about the problem, Mat the manager,sounded more annoyed than apologetic. I then had to take my car to the dealership because A1 couldn't figure out what the problem was. My mechanic said that whoever at A1 damaged the body control module by splicing into the car. Called Mat the manager to tell him and let's just say it's been a month and my car is still sitting at the dealership because A1 interlock doesn't want to take responsibility for the damages they caused. I highly suggest you take your car to another place to have the interlock installed because I wasted a lot of money and time on this place. read more
