Highly recommended! After sifting through reviews for a plumber to replace the ancient galvanized pipes in our single-family Venice home, we called A1 Copper Re-pipes, Inc. Our consultation with knowledgeable owner Ricardo Amezcua convinced us that a copper water re-pipe, gas re-pipe, drain replacement and tankless water heater upgrade would be the best way to restore our systems to proper function. Ricardo gave us some product literature and a list of references and emailed a detailed estimate the next day. Cost was reasonable and terms were fair. A1 excelled in all respects compared to other candidates. We signed the contract and agreed on a start date, expecting the project to take about a week. The owner organized the crew of up to six men every morning and monitored a 'phone during the day. The dedicated crew arrived on time, stayed on task and left a clean jobsite. Minor issues (e.g. where to install the hose bibs; which appliances to pipe or haul away) were easily resolved by 'phone. Non-plumbing side jobs (e.g. rebuilding the wall gap left by our tank-style water heater) were conveniently arranged for us through the owner's contacts. I highly recommend A1 Copper Repipe. I asked them do a repipe of my house and garage. A pipe was leaking underground and they had to dig and replace underground pipes as well as the pipes in the house. Ricardo came and gave me an estimate that was fair and explained what the process was. He gave me a detailed list of areas of my house that needed to be cleared for access to the pipes. His crew was amazing! They got the whole repipe done in one day - including digging and replacing the underground pipes! I had a tricky removal and replacement job for a leaky kitchen faucet. The tricky part was that the faucet was secured deep inside the center of a double basin farm sink with a very tight access. I have already had one plumber out to do the job and they gave up when neither the plumber nor his assistant could sufficiently reach the base of the faucet to do the job. They recommended I find a very small plumber to do the job and left. When I got a referral to Ricardo with A1 Copper Repipes & Plumbing, I told him all about the tight access and sent him pictures and measurements so he knew what he was in for. He listened, examined the pictures, and said it would take a bit of time but it was certainly workable. He quoted me a reasonable price and set up for his plumber, Daniel, to be at my house the next day. Daniel was excellent - very personable, explained everything he was doing and pulled out the right tools to do the job. Daniel also cleaned out and recaulked some leaky spots at the base of the sink, putting clear caulk between the stone and white caulk around the basin, exactly as it should be. That speaks to the level of detail and care Daniel put into his work. When everything was said and done, I think it took a bit longer than even they expected, but they held fast to the original quote they gave me. I can't expect any more from a plumber - knowledgeable, hard-working, courteous, and completely honest. I was referred to A1 by another plumbing company that was not able to help with a sink and faucet installation. I spoke with Ricardo at approximately 10:00am and he was very pleasant. What I appreciated most was how Ricardo allowed me to explain my plumbing situation and needs without interrupting like so many in the plumbing business tend to do. He listened, then asked questions, which resulted in an natural conversation where both parties benefited from the information exchanged. Equally important, Ricardo continued to explain that he would be able to provide same-day service and confirmed that Michael "Mike" would be my technician. He gave me some background information about Mike in terms of his experience, which I also appreciated. My appointment window was 3-5pm and I let Ricardo know that I would appreciate any and all efforts to have my technician arrive sooner. At ~1:30pm, I receive a call from Mike, who lets me know that he will be on site in 30 - 45 minutes. Shortly after 2pm, Mike arrived at my home one hour early, which was great! Mike had shoe booties to preserve my wooden staircase and wore a facial mask upon request. After assessing my kitchen sink, piping, and garbage disposal, and began to get to work. One thing that I didn't anticipate was that the All-In-One Kohler Sink Kit that I purchased was slightly larger than my existing cut-out. However, this was not a problem at all for Mike to cut through my counter top to install my drop-in sink. By ~4:40pm Mike was essentially done with the installation. I had to run to the bank as Mike was shutting things down and he was kind and patient for my return. He did not call me to express any concerns when I was delayed (when he probably had cause to). I needed a full gas line re-pipe and took my time to call in 4 estimates to assess and price the job. The first estimate, from a licensed plumber I've had good experiences with, was $6,350. The second estimate came from another licensed contract plumber referred to me by the regional gas department supervisor (who had come out to assess our leak issue) and their estimate came in at $10,500. Another re-pipe specialist I found on Yelp came in at $7850. A 1 Copper repipe came in at $17,900!!!!! When I saw their estimate I practically spit my coffee on my computer Jon-Ritter-Three's-Company-Style. Add in a $19,500 estimate for a plumbing re-pipe they provided I've since had estimated by two plumbers at 12K and another at 9K and you can get an idea of these guys' pricing. I mean they had the NERVE to give me an contract for $37,400!!!!! as if I was going to sign that and give them that kind of money for these jobs.....seriously? Needless to say I had the first company do the job for the 6K. They had it done in 1.5 days, were super clean and respectful and it passed city inspection in flying colors at 1/3 the price of A 1 Copper Repipe. When you have a job and you take your time off work to meet someone for an estimate you want to know you are getting a fairly priced estimate for your time. hello everyone! I relied on some reviews for this project and decided I needed to tell my story so I can help someone out there. my house suffered a slab leak in one of my bathrooms and the water overflowed and reached some of my hardwood floors. my insurance sent some guys to repair the slab leak and was told that I could end up with another leak in a few years since the house was built in 1979 and all the plumbing was done underground. I panicked !! I do not want to go through this ever again, so I decided to look for a different solution, an acquaintance referred me to a person by the name of Ron from Optimal plumbing! ( what disaster it was! he told me he was going to just reroute the pipes and end the problem. he abandoned the job and made me lose invaluable time. then I learned that the best option was to repipe not reroute the house. I started to look for a licensed, reputable, insured company to do a repiping of my house. what a surprise !! this is a very interesting business, I interviewed about 5 companies, they wildly differ in price from 12,400 to 9K some did not even include the repairs. ( they will make holes in your drywall and stucco ) fortunately for me, I decided to hire A1 copper-repipe. Ricardo and his crew of professionals are beyond amazing!! Ricardo came to my house, inspected the house, and decided on the best way to run the pipes through the attic with minimal stucco or drywall holes. Mike Miller ( a fine young man and one of the best plumber I have ever seen ) came to my house and reconnected the water. now we had running water. the crew of over 6 people came as agreed and started the repiping which was done in ONE DAY! what a relief! The project was done to perfection!! From the first phone call to the last. The initial consultation and estimate went very nicely John Sayeski Jr. came to my home and went over all the details and answered all of our questions. The quote process was very professional. All the options were discussed prior to signing the contract. This was a large job completely repiping a 3 unit apartment building John assured me this was old hat To the crew of A-1 repipe. The crew cleaned up 95% of the mess, which I thought was good. All I was left with was minor cleanup, like wet mopping floor and dusting. The entire project went better than I expected. They showed up on time with a crew of experienced workers who were each assigned different areas of responsibility throughout the house. They had to expose the existing pipes, thus holes were made both inside and outside the house to expose all the various plumbing junctions and outlets. It was a mess; I don't think it is possible to do such a project without making a mess. By 6: pm the end of the day, the entire installation had been completed and the water was turned back on. On Sunday, a second crew from A-1 copper repipe arrived and spent the entire day patching all the interior and exterior holes in the walls. They were very professional and paid close attention to detail. We were completely satisfied with A-1 copper repipe and highly recommend their services to anyone who is considering having their home or apartment building repiped. Hire them if you have to do this. We received quotes from 6 different companies to re-pipe our house. The owner came out personally to review our project - he was very honest and thorough, provided great ideas to fix two other issues (getting hot water faster to two areas of our house and fixing a low pressure issue when our sprinklers run). Although his quote wasn't the lowest, it was fair. His teams are amazing - they listen to concerns and address accordingly. I WAS glad we were in the area and checked up on things throughout the day - there were a couple things they needed to address that would have been left out had we not been there - but they were all addressed without issue. At the end, there was a punch list of small things to be addressed, but again, they did so without issue. The city inspector commented on how well the plumbing work was done - at that point there was no doubt we made the right choice! We had one more issue with a low flow pump that was installed making a noise. One of the staff members came out to assess, agreed it shouldn't be making a noise, and will come back to fix it. The office manager phoned just the other day to make sure this concern and the patch work was done correctly. I was amazed at the amazing follow-up. I would hire A1 Copper again in a heartbeat.
