Jiffy Lube - Service checklist

These guys rock. cool guys with awesome service definitely the reason I've been going there for…read moreover 20 years to the same location.

Hello I went to this…read morejiffy lube location 56 and had an issue. Long story short they kicked me out due to a so called leak and a so called grease on my belt. This was very embarrassing and I asked if he could just change the oil and he said because it was 6pm (late in the day) he don't want to take the chance. I can try to understand his position but the way he did it was very unprofessional and I will not go back to this location on rt 46 ever again. I just had an oil change and engine flush today and it was a way better and inexpensive experience compared to the frustration and disappointment of my visit to your establishment. In the very beginning the gentleman with the very long beard accepted my car and drove it into the bay asked me to wait inside and I sat down not saying one word. There was 3 people in the waiting area including myself , 2 women and me . Instead of speaking as a professional he spoke in a loud tone and said " I don't know you better go to a mechanic because i am not touching this. I have knowledge of cars and I asked "can you just change the oil"? He said "no" In Kearny auto spa they acknowledged me properly and professionally such a big difference from a small shop compared to a huge well know chain like Jiffy Lube. This won't affect you at all but I just wanted let you know what's going on in your place of business because as a business owner I would appreciate the same courtesy. I understand working late because I work late everyday but there is no excuse to be unprofessional , I was just there for an oil change even though it's not a big job you made my Audi q7 feel like it was junk and made it look like I stole it . The expression on the other customers faces was embarrassing and you should treat every customer with the same respect that you would for someone who is spending a lot of money. Delivery is everything he may have been correct in his assessment but the way he delivered his input was very rude and wrong. I will take my business elsewhere no hard feelings it only business.i will stick to the smaller companies they value their customers and a re way more reasonable with their price. I got an oil change, engine flush , fluid check , tire rotation and free car wash for almost the same price I would've spent for an oil change at Jiffy lube. They charged me $170 for all of that and you charged me $156. Thank you and have a great day

Pep Boys - The nail i ran over

In this rare case, the guys Jahqui & Mario from Pep boys deserves the honorable mention. Ran through a huge nail which destroyed my tire at 6:45pm. After making several calls to nearby shops, i decided to go to Pep boys to see if they could repair or replace the tire. Keep in mind it was few minutes before their closing time. I went into the shop, clearly distressed and explained what has happened and have them analyze the possible solutions. Those that have been in my similar position know the feeling of helplessness and desperation. Jahqui, probably the most down to earth person evaluated the dire situation and presented the unfortunate news. The nail was huge and placement of the nail annihilated my tire and could not be easily patched. They also didn't have the tire in stock and were unable to find other vendors with my tire size. However, Jahqui's assuring demeanor analyzed all possible solutions - most which required a tire delivery the next day which was unacceptable for my circumstances. Eventually, as the last resort, Mario (the tire guy) worked his magic and temporarily patched my awful tire just enough to get me home 30 miles away. All of this occurred far past their closing time and they didnt ask for a single cent. I had to offer them a tip for their hard work on OVERTIME. They could've easily shot me away, stating they're closing and unable to help. Without Jahqui and Mario, i would've probably had to call a tow truck or be left stranded. Their dedication to their service and customers are unmatched. They've just won a lifelong customer and would recommend everyone to them. If you're serviced by Jahqui or Mario, you're in good hands. I hope they both get a promotion or raise because they deserve it.

Last time I mentioned it seems to coincide when I use my windshield washer. They again said it was a drain and changed the washer pump. Well today I used my washer, drove two blocks and the misfire happened again. This time on the 2nd cylinder! They never checked or changed any of the hoses leading to the new pump! I call them up and basically get "duuuuhhh" from whatever Pygmy they have answered the phone that can't understand clear English!

Searching for a qualified mechanic to work on my 2014 Mercedes AMG has been a short road thanks to…read morethis shop. I wanted to do some custom work to my car (aftermarket suspension, valvetronic exhaust) as well as regular services. John (the owner) and his team has proven to be exceptionally qualified with working on my Mercedes. The valvetronic exhaust installation is not simple because of the added wiring complexity on top of the bolt ons. I was very pleased with their knowledge of these cars. I especially appreciate the care and detail of customizing the locations for foreign parts from the exhaust. I have sat in his shop for hours while waiting for my car and seeing customer after customer walk in and out. All types of cars from Audi's, BMW's, Etc. and nothing customers all walking away pleased. John has been pretty transparent on labor and his explanation to fix the problem. Don't hesitate using him...

After installing the fuel injector they advised there was problems with the piston or rings. I trued to talk to them to find out if they installed the fuel injector wrong and caused the damage but they don't take calls. Their voicemail says to text them. So you text, but they either don't respond or just give a limited self serving response. I went there to pick up the car to take it to another mechanic and they refused to advise if the car is safe to operate, refuse to discuss the work they did or their misdiagnosis. They advised they will not release the car without full payment, When I tried to pay them via a check, they advised they do not accept checks but no where do they stare such prior to pick up. They want cash, Zelle or a credit card and if you use a credit card you have to pay a 3 percent fee. Then they require you to sign their self serving summary after payment or they "Will void out the payment" and refuse to give you the keys. I wrote on their document "disputed" and that I reserved the right to sue them. They refused to accept what I wrote - I had to get the local police involved just to get the car back that I fully paid them for. ---// it was such a crazy experience I told them I was going to record it on my phone and they said the they will not talk at all. Avoid this place.

The original estimate was approximately $2900 and the final bill was higher($3070). I missed two days for work due to wrong parts, them not being able to get a bolt off. When I finally got my car back the engine light came on and my transmission was shot. The car never had prior transmission problems at all. When I sent them the info that using heat by the transmission can cause damage they dismissed it. I had to junk the car for $500. The worst car repair experience I ever had. I never took a car to get a major repair like this and had the car run much worse. I will never go back. Buyer beware with these guys.

This used to be Euro Tire which I used previously for various things with no issues. Unfortunately, what began as a simple service resulted in over $1,000 in damages and a complete lack of accountability. After picking up my car, I discovered the wheel bolts had been severely over-torqued. I returned within 30 min, and a technician confirmed they were stuck, stating he was "uncomfortable" proceeding at closing time. I took the car home and dropped it off the following morning as they said they will take care of it. The next day, multiple lug nuts were stuck which required drilling of the studs to remove them. The shop broke at least 4 lug nuts in half trying to remove them and the 2 wheels were stuck on the car. During the extraction process, the shop drilled through the wheel itself rather than just the studs. Put the wheel back on and said it was all done. I once again checked when I got home and discovered the wheel was drilled into and 2 of 5 lug nuts on one wheel were not holding. This rendered the wheel structurally compromised and unsafe for road use. Despite previously admitting the bolts were over-torqued, the management changed their story once they realized the extent of the damage. When I confronted them about the ruined wheel, they blamed me for the over-torquing--despite the fact that they were the last ones to touch the vehicle. While they refunded the initial labor cost, I am now out approximately $1,000 for a replacement wheel and hardware.
