I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened and I finally got around to it today! Parking was easy, it's located in the Denny's plaza, right on reseda Blvd and saticoy. I wanted to try the oat cream milk tea, since that seems like what most people have gotten and I love oat milk, so I assumed that's what was going to be used. Also it was on the top 10 drinks menu. When I ordered, I asked if there was dairy (since I'm lactose intolerant and didn't want to just 100% assume they used oat milk as a sub) and the cashier said there was half & half in it. I got it anyways bc I don't take my lactose intolerance too seriously (lol ya I'm the worst). I checked in for an add on and got pudding added. What I realized that was over $5 for a regular sized drink... so I was hoping that this drink would be really good and worth it. The drink came out pretty quickly and the rectangular cup was cute. I shook the cup a little gently cause I saw that there was the oat cream on top and some... cereal?? Lo and behold, the cap was not on securely and some of the drink spilled all over me. I decided to just go home and mix it up so I wouldn't cause more of a mess in my car. What I noticed about the drink when I manually stirred the drink... there was some powdery substance on top (sugar???) and corn flake cereal (kinda weird). Also the cream on top was sea salt. First sip made me realize it was not milk tea-y or oat-y at all but it tasted like cereal milk... like the milk that was soaked in corn flakes. Also it was extremely sweet and I wasn't able to finish it. I'm all for boba shops opening up in the valley but this one was just a miss for me. I was expecting a lot more since I paid over $5 for this drink. But I don't think I'll be back :-( too expensive for such a mediocre drink. read more

The squared cups are really unique, prices are a little on the higher end but the amount of tea that you get mitigates the damage a little bit. Good tea, good service, pretty clean location. read more

January 6th, 2022 4pm I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with boba and it tasted mostly of sweet strawberry flavor and did not have much matcha taste to it. Boba was soft and chewy but also did not have any taste to it. The drink tasted like a milky strawberry flavor. I wished it had more matcha flavor. The cups are in a square shape instead of the regular round shape and I thought that was cute and unique. read more

Their tornado brown sugar milk was GOOD! I didn't expect that they'll be slushy and massive than I thought! Delicious. Definitely will go again to try different drinks! And I hope they have honey brown boba since they only had crystal boba by the time I was there around 9 pm. Plus their drinks are so pretty to take pictures, very aesthetic! Customer service was good but unfortunately, one Thai drink didn't have its lid fully closed. And it got spilled on the floor, then we informed them that we spilled it on the floor because of the lid wasn't fully closed. And the workers were like 'oh okay.' and just stood there and continuing their work without having the floor cleaned up. So we left it and they didn't provide another drink to replace it because they didn't FULLY close the lid. So when you're there, please try close the lid on your own! read more

I really enjoyed the oolong milk tea with cream cheese foam, oats, and brown sugar boba. The cream cheese added a nice salty contrast to the sweet milk tea and brown sugar boba. The oats on top reminded me of uncooked hot cereal from the packets you can buy at the store, which I greatly enjoyed. It added another texture to the drink. The brown sugar boba was soft and chewy. I also love the investment into their containers. It is very durable so when I finished my drink, I rinsed out the cup and top to reuse for later. Inside, everything was aesthetically pleasing with free wifi and outlets. Very clean. All their drinks were also aesthetically pleasing. Great for a study or work session. 10/10 would come back and enjoy another oolong milk tea. read more

A lot of the boba places in the Valley are okay, but nothing extraordinary and I think I might have found my new favorite boba spot. The menu is fairly small, but the quality of their drinks are superb. I have tried the tornado milk tea (blended ice), tropical tea, tornado Thai tea, and coconut cream Viet coffee. I really like drinks that are blending so I always get the tornado version of it. If you want anything basic at a boba place you have to get the Thai tea here. It is really good without an artificial taste. I ventured out of my usual and got the coconut cream Viet coffee. I'd get it without the coconut cream. Even with mixing the two flavors together they somehow didn't blend well. Overall a great new place to try and they server their drinks in substantial square-ish cups that still fit in the cup holders in the car. read more

This was my first time trying this little gem and I can promise I will be back soon! The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggesting a drink for me! I let her know I was interested in the brown sugar boba and she said their brown sugar boba drink was great! I took her advice and she did not let me down. today was our second visit and my daughter's drink came out just the way how she had remembered, delicious. as for mine, it could've been better. luckily, we were still in the parking lot getting my gps ready for our last stop. my first sip had me at pause, "what's this? just milk?" i had asked my daughter to take a sip and she said it was like drinking water. unfortunately, i'd to go back. i told them that this was nothing like i had ordered from last time. he didn't question and made a second one and asked me to try it before leaving. oh boy...it was the same. for the third time, he made it with oolong tea and it was better. he was so nice and understanding. i didn't feel uncomfortable nor awkward. they were very accommodating. best customer service. thank you. see you soon! read more

Pretty standard boba place with cool square cups, but they can't fit into regular cup holders. They also have non dairy options for dairy type boba drinks. I ordered their brown sugar milk boba, and it was more milk than brown sugar flavor I ordered both their crystal and boba and I still felt it wasn't enough actual boba. read more

Been seeing this come up on my Facebook Page... I kept wanting to go there and try it. Finally made it over there this week. The staff are all very friendly. The cups are cool shaped. First one I tried was the American Snow Yoghurt Drink. It was very good. I then tried the Mango Milk that one was even better. My friend got the Salted Carmel Veit Coffee he loved it as well. Really good boba shop, a tiny clean and friendly location. The plaza it's on is not the best, but interior is very nice. They are only doing to go orders during covid, and no outside seating. Cute and very new tea joint. More a 3.5 star review. Asked for the most popular drink and was told to get the tropical fruit tea, and thought it tasted really nice. Employees were very polite. Overall, I'm a fan of the drinks and the people working there. My less favorite parts about the place were the loud music and layout of the shop. Found this place through Yelp, per usual. So a while back I fell in love with salted cold foam because of Starbucks, knew I had to try this one. I ordered the sea salt foam with jasmine green tea and it was DELICIOUS! I got a medium and finished it so fast. Didn't want it to end. I will tweak it a bit for my next order. (I've been drinking plain green tea at home for a couple of months so when I took the first sip it was a punch of sweetener. )So next time I think I'll do less sweetener and extra foam and light ice. There was one guy working, greeted me as I walked through the door. He was nice and speedy while making my drink. They're not taking cash at the moment to pay. As a fan of cheese/cream boba tea, I ordered the cheese cream fresh tea and my boyfriend ordered the peach-orange smash tea. My drink was really good, but tasted kind of like sweet potato () not sure if that's how it was supposed to taste like, but it wasn't what I was expecting. Regardless, it was pretty good, and I'd drink it again, but I'd probably order something else next time. However, the peach-orange smash tea was absolutely delicious and refreshing; it was our favorite. He had ordered it with the lowest amount of sugar they offered (which was 25%, I think) and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. We would both come back for that drink alone. We had visited around 6pm and there was enough parking available in the busy lot. The staff was nice, and the store was clean. Also, the prices were very reasonable, considering the size. The cups were also really nice and sturdy (I appreciate the details!) and that unique square shape definitely caught my eye when looking for boba in the area. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because their boba wasn't anything special (sorry! ) It wasn't bad at all, but just wasn't flavorful. Nothing compares to the boba down in the 626 but I was very surprise on how great my drink tasted. I was in the area for work and decided to grab a drink for the long ride back. Ordered the Tropical fruit black tea that came with watermelon chunks and slices of lemon. This particular drink only came in Large and in a squarish bottle which I would say is enough for two people. I was expecting more from this place. The only thing giving this place an extra star is their Tornado Mango Pineapple. The flavor is totally different and the only thing I would highly recommend! The other drinks we ordered are flavors I've had before and can get at other solid boba locations. Now, I'm not giving A Tea Thing 3 stars because giving out 3 stars is something I do, but only because I HOPE someone on their team reads this and takes notes on what needs to be improved. First of all, they have signs inside and out "enforcing" social distancing... Being inside for the 30-40 minutes I was there, it was definite they did not enforce the social distancing rules. Too many people inside and people kept coming in to line up for drinks. Someone on the staff should have asked people to step outside to minimize the number of customers inside the store. Next is... the wait time! If you want to miss birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, etc. Come here on a Friday night to wait for your drink order to be made. I waited there for my 5 drinks and extra boba for nearly 30-40 minutes . Waiting there felt like FORVER! People that came in after me were getting their drinks. Some had two drinks others had 4 drinks to their order. I was o frustrated and annoyed. I asked about my order and they said they were STILL working on it and that one staff person works on one order at a time. Just my luck, the person making my order must've been the slowest or newest person to their team. They were not apologetic for the wait. They seemed more proud for the time they made us wait, which is very upsetting. I went to 2 different boba spots after this incident I had at A Tea Thing; just to test out the time it would take... For the record, service is excellent. In my mind, it would be a waste of time to drive back for a replacement. Long story short, I called and ordered two large milk teas with LESS ice. As you can see, the ice is more than 50% of the large cup. In their defense, the tea is hot. That's the justification for why they need to add a lot of ice. Sure, does it make sense? Absolutely not.
