I was rolling down Sherman Way and thought, "hmmm I feel like a milk tea and boba!" So I pulled over to the side and hopped on Yelp. The closest one in my area was 4 mins away called a tea thing. I rolled up and parking was pretty bad. One section looks like it's one way so you can't even go down that section for parking if you are on the opposite of the entrance side. I also almost saw a car ram into another one for a park. They be fighting for parks over there lol. Anyway, I snagged a park and headed inside. Once inside, the place was very clean, with nice music playing and it was pretty busy with the two workers preparing drinks to get the rush out before me, so it took them a second to help me. It was all good because I was getting familiar with the menu. After they finished about 4 orders, they called me over to take my order. I had several questions and asked for suggestions. She was very helpful and I wanted to try something different so I went with a mango milk tea with 75% sugar lmao. It was probably the worst decision I could have made. I hated it and would never get it again anywhere, so it's not their fault. Would I go back again? Absolutely! I love their cups and the presentation. I'm pretty positive the drinks I'm familiar with are solid so I''ll stick to what I know, which is regular milk teas, taro and fruit teas. I also want to try their tornado drinks which are blended. Sooo good Came back and tried their popcorn latte and it's strong and flavorful. Definitely recommend you try it if you like texture in your drinks. The person who took my order was very sweet and said this is a very popular drink in Korea & that the corn is not overwhelming in the drink & she was 100% right! 10/10 recommend coming here if you like strong coffee with unique flavors
Tried this new spot today. I felt like I had been here before, but I can't recall. Not sure if that's a good thing or if all boba places just look the same to me now. I go to so many, and only a few stand out as unique; most tend to have the same layout, tables everywhere, the same colored walls, a bathroom in the corner, and their menu close to the register. This is pretty much the same; nothing inside caught my attention as unique or wowed me in any way. The staff member was bland, kind of like she was over her day, not excited to say hello or sell me some tea. Just "Can I take your order?" She did help me choose my drink and helped me with the choices, but I would say it was a bland interaction. Boba was good; I got the tropical tea, which was good, and got another tea for my lady. I did not try it, but she said it was good. Teas were pretty good, standard but nothing special like I said; the place felt like your average boba spot, nothing I would go out of my way for, especially when I live in Noho and I have better options over there. Unfortunately, if I do come back to the Reseda area, I prefer Bon Bon Tea House. So I may not return here for a while unless my girl wants her drink; she claims they made her brown sugar tea really well.
Ordered on DoorDash. The drinks came without a seal on the lids. This is not a healthy and clean practice. I called back the place to suggest that in the future, they may want to put a tape on the lids for safety on deliveries, the girl put me on hold and then hang up after 5 minutes. Never got a chance to tell them. Just saying!
a tea thing is one of my favorite boba spots in the valley so this is a long overdue review! parking: can be a little difficult sometimes. same plaza as the dennys. what's weird is that there's a section with double parking. on weekend nights parking can be a little tough, but spots will clear up with patience inside: lots of seating, very clean. i like the minimal aesthetic they got going on. there is tables, outlets, & wifi if you ever want a boba spot to work or spend some time hanging out at. drinks: my ultimate favorite right now is their green thai tea! it's floral & just the right amount of sweetness. what i like about a tea thing is that their drinks are consistent, their workers do a great job with the drinks even during a rush!
Added A Tea Thing to my bookmarks after encountering limited options for milk teas in the SFV area (versus SGV)... and finally gave it a try! Compared to most quick service cafes and tea places that I've been to, service was not the most welcoming. Sometimes, there may be 3-4 staff working but all in the kitchen. (Perhaps they could invest in a camera or a sensor?) A mixed drink I've never seen was the Thai Green tea - despite how basic it is - and I have to admit I could conceptualize the flavor but didn't quite enjoy it. Perhaps it was the 25% sugar adjustment, but this is generally enough for my taste buds, and it did feel bland. I will admit their small to large size ratio is quite drastic... but without a middle option.. gotta get that bang for he buck, but with no middle option feels a bit pressuring. Drink aside, parking was easy to find here, albeit the location itself didn't feel the most safe. There was a good trickle of customers on a late Friday afternoon, and the atmosphere was otherwise light. Staff were often socializing and at times not present at the front but rather in the kitchen.
A pretty solid boba spot in the valley :) AMBIENCE: (9/10) Chill, clean, and cozy with lots of seating if you want to hang out. SERVICE: (10/10) Super friendly and thoughtful. They even drew cute ghost doodles on my cup for Halloween. DRINKS: (8.5/10) Tornado Cookies n Cream w/ Soymilk (9/10): Soft, chewy boba and perfectly not too sweet. Loved the marshmallow ghosts. Taro Milk w/ Egg Pudding (8/10): Smooth and creamy, though I wished for a stronger taro flavor. VALUE: ($$$) Around $20 for two large drinks. PARKING: (9/10) Easy parking. We went on a Tuesday night. Not sure how parking is during the daytime and weekends. OVERALL: (4.5/5) Great drinks, amazing service, and adorable touches. Wish we could adjust sweetness levels, but still drinks were good!
Flavorful Tornado Taro drink with brown sugar boba--so delicious! Fast and accurate service from Scott, Kiki, and Diego. Thank you all for your excellent, thoughtful service. Clean space, upbeat music, and a great spot to focus and get work done. They truly deserve a pay raise soon. God bless!

Located in a sad rundown strip mall is this newly remodeled boba shop. We came on a Monday and there were a decent amount of people sitting but it was not overly crowded. There are ample tables for studying and it seems like a decent enough retreat for students. When we got to the counter to order there was only one guy working and he pretty much ignored us and was just focused on making a drink. When he finally looks in our direction he mechanically walks over and waits for us in silence in a completely deadpan manner. My man is really hating life over here lol. We asked him about the drinks and he gave a couple of quick short answers to get us out of there. Not the friendliest or helpful staff however, if the food or drink is good, I'm always willing to bend a little on that aspect. The drinks took a while to come out as this guy appeared to be the only one working. He was taking orders and making the drinks in between. The saving grace of everything up until now is that drinks actually came out to be really delicious. I give it a 5 for the drink and a 3 for everything else rounding it to a 4 average. I like tea shops that have true flavor beyond their sugary add-ons. In this case, you can really taste the comforting oat flavor and the floating oat toppings were a nice unique feature that I haven't really seen elsewhere. The green jasmine tea was really pretty fragrant and shined through the sweet and salty cream. TLDR: great drinks but everything else could be improved upon. Enjoy! Cheers!! P.S. Service is very nice, the drinks however are just okay. Very sweet and don't really taste all that great. It's a great place to escape this summer eat and hang out with friends/family. I couldn't recommend this spot for than that but to each their own. read more

If you want authentic great tasting boba, this is the place to go. I'm very picky with my boba; their consistency, sweetness, and taste has to be perfect. A lot of old boba balls get really hard being inside a cold drink but the boba balls at A Tea Thing stayed consistently delicious. The drinks also taste great. Granted I've only had the tornado drinks but I feel like it's suffice to say how well the drinks are. The taste doesn't leave you questioning the ingredients. It's great and it tastes exactly like you want. I got the pina colada and my girlfriend got the strawberry tornado. They came in large size cups that are actually really cute. I highly recommend getting these. read more

Wow! Very impressive and at the same time intriguing . Their milk tea is very different than other milk teas around. It's very smooth and it's not overpoweringly sweet! The mangonada is essentially the same drink that Mexicans have, but it's a good salty sweet goodness that just uplifts you on a hot summer California day. The strawberry milk tea has some crushed frozen strawberries at the bottom. It tasted like the Mexican strawberry shortcake ice cream. Great employees too! It's currently buy one get one half off. It's pricier than other places but I asked and the large is a whopping 32oz! That's huge! read more
This place has AMAZING service. First of all, I came about 10minutes before closing, terrible I know, and they still answered any questions I had with a smile on their face. This was my first time coming here and I think I can say I found a new study spot. There's a good amount of chairs and tables, the lighting it great and the vibe is super chill! As for their drinks I tried the tropical fruit tea with lychee jelly, I had to pay a little extra for the lychee jelly but I can say it was worth it. The drink wasn't overpoweringly sweet, it had the perfect amount and I think the taste of the tropical fruit tea and the sweetness from the lychee jelly balanced each other out perfectly. With the large size you definitely get your money's worth! I definitely recommend this drink! Parking is free, it's in a plaza. At night it was pretty easy to get parking. However it may be a little harder during the day considering the other businesses. You guys gotta try this place! read more

Saw their instagram and came here last Saturday. They're currently on soft opening, but everything is on point. The interior is clean, modern and aesthetic. The host was very friendly. The drinks were absolutely delicious. I tried the Lychee Lemon smash tea with boba. Other places usually sell single flavor tea, but this place create their own combination and they do it oh-so-well. Brown sugar boba is very tasty and chewy. My friend tried their sea salt cream black tea and we both love it. We'll definitely come back. Highly highly recommend!!! read more

Yay for new boba in the valley!! As someone who's not the biggest fan of Bounce and Bon Bon, I always get excited to try out new boba joints and A Tea Thing has easily become my favorite. Google Maps had a hard time guiding me there but it's essentially in the plaza with Wang Dweji KBBQ and Baskin Robbins. The interior is very very spacious and all tables have outlets next to them, making it a good place for people to get work/studying done. The wooden furniture with plants gives the place a cute aesthetic! I got the strawberry milk drink and it was so good, no artificial taste and the drink was very light and creamy. I got it with crystal boba, which I also had no complaints about. The price from the regular to a large is a dollar difference (bigger price jump than more boba joints) but the size difference does it justice. The female worker who helped me out was also super sweet and I will always be back when I'm in the valley ! read more

A new Boba shop in the valley. Not bad, the drinks are pretty good and the employees are very friendly. The layout is nice and the music is not too loud. You can take aesthetically pleasing pictures too as you can see from my photo. Would def come back to try their other drinks :) Oh and you can get free add on when you check in. So came across this on my yelp since I like trying new pLaces I read a couple reviews and I was sold. Came around 7:40pm and it was empty then It startedd getting busy. So I gotta brown sugar milk tea with custard and omg it was so bomb gonna day my new faVorite boba spot . My girlfriend and I stopped by here after dinner at King of Crab. When we walked in they were not busy so we were able to order right away. My girlfriend was going to get a large Milk Tea but when she saw how big their large size cup are she changed her mind and got the regular size one. When she ordered it, the cashier ask what type of tea she wanted in it so she asked what would be recommended and was told jasmin tea would be the best. So my girlfriend went with that and she liked it. read more

New place. Storefront is super sleek and clean, service is great, and the teas are delicious. I recommend the oatmeal cream and the coconut cream Viet coffee. Cups are super cute, too. Need to ask if I can use reusable cups upon my next visit, though. Check this place out! read more

Good drinks.. Poor service.. Probably just the staff working today. Purchased 3 drinks. Asked if they can accommodate splitting a large drink into 2 smaller cups so I can hand them to my nephews. I even said that I'll pay for the extra cup. Answer was a HARD "NO!" With an attitude. (I GET it probably policy, but what a way to provide customer service.) Another drink I asked for Boba on the side, as per requested by the person I'm buying it for. Put the boba in a separate cup and when I asked for a lid...another HARD "NO!" Last drink, I asked for lychee jelly (+75c). Came to the car drove off and looked at the drink...NO LYCHEE JELLY! WTH! (Probably my fault for not checking before leaving, but WOW!) read more

Super delicious, I'm giving it 3 stars due to the price they charge for the large over $6 and it's not even filled to the top. The least you can do is fill it to the top. I get it 1/2 sweet since I don't like my drink too sweet. read more
Recently opened and I am already a fanatic. That Sea Salt foam is ridiculously savory, which balances out the simple sweetness of the tea. The creaminess of the foam makes a smooth texture that makes the drink a nice summer drink. The mangonada is my favorite so far. The flavor of chamoy and mango blended together can never go bad but this place makes the best I've ever had! read more

I love bubble tea, but sometimes I'm disappointed by it. Not here!! First of all, the shop and design are very cute yet classy looking. The menu has many options but isn't too overwhelming. The girl who took my order was so attentive and made sure to ask how much sugar I wanted and if I wanted boba. I chose the Thai tea with coconut foam (Whoooaat) with 50% sugar and requested just a little bit of bubbles. The drink tasted amazing and was only slightly sweet which made it very refreshing. It was also pretty BIG! The boba had a nice texture and tasted fresh. It was moderately busy, but they have a good amount of seats I would definitely come back for more drinks Great experience! read more

People were so nice. I don't remember their names but I first when in with my brothers and it took me awhile to pick my drink. They were patient with me. They prepared the drink so fast! And it was delicious! I brought my boyfriend the week after and he loved it too. Will definitely be coming here for my boba from now on!!! Also the the cups are like rectangles. Cool new little boba place in the valley. The inside is beautifully decorated and clean. It's both simple and inviting. The staff is friendly which is always a great plus. The one downside I'd say there is, is that it does take pretty long to get your drink. There were only two employees working leaving them sort of understaffed. Other than that the drinks were great. Only one size for the tornado drinks (large), wish there was regular size also though. We tried the cookies 'n cream, pina colada, and Thai tea all with brown sugar boba. All in all, I would definitely visit against. read more

I got a large Oat Cream Milk Tea, less sweet, light ice. Almost $7. Tastes like milk you slurp after you finish your frosted flakes but not as sweet with a hint of jasmine tea flavor. Service was quick, 3 minutes tops (no one else was in there during the day). Would I get this again, maybe not. The flavor was not robust enough for me but I definitely say it's @makeMePrettie approved if you're looking to try a little something different than your usual milk teas. read more

In case you rely on Google Maps to get here, this boba spot is located in the Denny's parking lot. I was pretty surprised by how fast the service was since they just opened up shop. The store has a very cute minimalist style interior with many tables where you can sit and study. The drinks here are a little pricey and the thai tea was a little watered down, but I'd come back just for the oat cream fresh milk tea because you can't get anything like it anywhere else in the valley. The milk tea was made with jasmine green tea, so the flavor was nice and light. read more

Love/hate relationship with this place. Everything I've tried has been great. What I was upset about it's there rewards system. It mentioned that you can redeem for one free drink of your choice up to $5 after the 10th drink but it doesn't make sense because everything in the menu is over five dollars so best believe you're always going to pay it's technically not a free drink. So that's a little upsetting. read more

Not a whole lot of variety, but really yummy on what they do offer. I mostly prefer milk based teas, so they did it for me. For my other friends they weren't too sold as they prefer fruit teas more. I like their cute cups lol we ordered 4 drinks and there was one other customer ahead of us and it took a while to get our order. :/ so two stars down for those two things. read more
