Not my favorite place I ate in Savannah, but not the worst either. When we first got there, service wasn't super inviting, but as the night went on, the staff definitely got friendlier. Food was fine- I got the po boy, carne asada and the fried chicken tacos. It had a local vibe to it, pretty laid back atmosphere. I'm definitely not running to go back though.
The Weekday special taco (shaved ribeye cheesesteak) hit the spot and was so piping hot I had to let it cool off before taking a second bite. Service was quick, and Taco Affair has a cool urban, industrial vibe with 4 flat screen TVs playing various sports channels. Love that they have a mocktail menu for the non drinkers or designated drivers! I spotted numerous tequilas behind their bar for the tequila drinker. Cheers!
Taco Affair was a letdown. The Mexican street corn barely had any flavor beyond plain corn, the tatchos had decent crunch but the jerk chicken on top was completely bland, the Sweet Garlic & Chili wings had barely any sauce and zero depth, and the Yuca Stack had a weirdly sweet cheese sauce that just didn't work. To top it off, my cup had black crud sitting at the bottom of it. Service was nothing special either. Cool concept on paper but the kitchen needs to figure out seasoning and the staff needs to actually wash their dishes. Hard to recommend.
Service was great. The owners are very friendly. I got several tacos and liked all of them. I also really like the vibe of the restaurant. Will definitely be back.
My husband and I both ordered 3 tacos. For a total of 5 different flavors. There needs to be something done about putting these together in the kitchen. Three of them "fell" apart. Like straight through the taco shells. Not a good look to have to eat soggy tacos. Girlfriend was serving this entire place making the wait a bit displeasing. While she did apologize. Perhaps calling in another server would be good. Didn't care for the Pastor one, nor the jerk chicken. The shrimp was good but on the last bite there was quite a bit of salt in it. Not sure where that came from but was a bit yuck. Hubby got the regular taco, which he called a "taco salad" since it fell straight through the shell when he picked it up. He also got the hot honey chicken which was basically tenders on a taco shell.. cooked a little too long. He said "how am I supposed to eat this!?" .. so he used a fork and ate the chicken tenders off the taco shell. A little reworking the process here could help them. I think it has potential butttt there needs to be some changes with putting together these tacos. I don't like soggy taco shells. Yuck. The Grilled Pineapple Mojito was good!
Restaurant week is in full swing, and so are the tacos @tacoaffair! I had the pleasure of enjoying an incredible three-course dinner that totally hit the spot. Started with a Yuka Stack: crispy steak-cut yuca, BBQ brisket, cheddar cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, and cilantro--so much flavor in every bite! For the main course, I went with two tacos and a side: PORK AL PASTOR and KOREAN BBQ. These tacos were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully crafted!
A Taco Affair is my favorite taco spot in Savannah! There are several options for vegetarians and so many amazing sides, salas, and desserts. Parking is so easy on this side of town (for now!) which makes it a breeze to get inside. You can order food and soft drinks at the self service kiosk or at the bar, but you would need to order alcohol from the bar only. I love the buffalo cauliflower tacos, the shrimp po' boy tacos and the crab fritter tacos. I make my own buffalo cauliflower often but these tacos really take the cake. They are very flavorful and just hot enough. The yuca fries are perfectly salty, crispy and delicious consistently. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and willing to go above and beyond to make your experience the best one yet. The restaurant is very modern and clean. A great addition to Savannah!
Right off the bat, "A Taco Affair" offers delicious-tasting tacos in a very friendly atmosphere! They are easily found on Hall Street adjacent to Skylark Apartments. The location offers plenty of free parking very close to the restaurant which is always a plus for me You can view and order everything through the several kiosks located throughout the establishment. I love the fact it is very easy to customize your selections via the kiosk without bothering anyone. Serving portions are more than sufficient, and I enjoyed the great-tasting tacos. No complaints at all! I also ordered sweet garlic and chili wings and completed the evening with their churro vanilla ice cream bowl. I see plenty of visits to A Taco Affair in my future. Check them out!
JUST GO!!! I was in town for pleasure; and wanted to dine somewhere local. This was close to my hotel, and different from what I had already been eating while in Savannah. We came shortly after opening, so there was not a wait. We were the only customers in the establishment. I did not get their names, but both gentlemen that I encountered were very kind. Child 1: She ordered a Taco bowl with a double portion of Steak. It came with a sauce on the top. She didn't care for it, however, she did enjoy the meal. Child 2: She ordered the Totchos, which is a nacho-style tater tot. She thoroughly enjoyed it. She ordered a single portion and was not disappointed. I ordered the lunch special. I chose the Steak taco with blue cheese crumbles, the brisket taco, and a mini totcho. Wow, the combination of flavors was done beautifully. I would have never thought to add blue cheese crumbles to a taco. The portions were just right for my girls and me. I had to take the brisket taco to go because I was stuffed. The customer service was beyond amazing. It was a very cute and peaceful space. I can't wait to come back to Savannah to try it on the weekend or the afternoons.
A hidden gem in plain sight. Close to the downtown Savannah area without the craze of looking for parking and navigating through a sea of cobblestones and people. 1st off, the owner being from Jersey is a plus. Being a New Yorker and bring the flair of northern cuisine down south, it shows why we are great anywhere we live. Tacos without the Hispanic flair.......Say Whaaaaaat! A Taco Affair makes me want to sneak away to eat this and not tell or share with my Lady because is soon delicious. The Jerk Wings gave me vibes of being in Negril enjoying that, a Malta and a beef patty with cheese. The wings were seasoned well with the right kick of spice and flavor, I cleaned those bones like a turkey vulture! The 3 pack of tacos were elite. I opted for the brisket tacos, the recommended steakhouse taco (minus blue cheese crumbles, subbed with fresco) and the crab fritters taco. Flavors packed in each and every bite. The generous portions had me full. The icing on the cake was the churro ice cream bowl. I was being a big back fatty on that one. The only knock I would say is that there wasn't sweet tea homemade, but the lipton pure leaf tea and water made up for it. If you're a veteran, they offer a discount, which is always appreciated. I've already bookmarked this spot on my yelp and car GPS as I will return, and next time I'll bring the Misses with me.
I was in town for work and decided to make a quick stop for a bite to eat. I found easy street parking and walked into the restaurant, which was initially empty but quickly filled up after I settled at the bar and placed my order. The owners were incredibly friendly and engaging; we chatted about the neighborhood and local spots, which made me feel right at home. I can confidently say I'll be back! Oh, and I tried the lunch special--it was delicious! I also enjoyed a refreshing margarita. Highly recommend!
Really nice service and food. It wasn't so full and there was some nice ambiance and music. 100% recommend.
Been here 3 times now and each visit was filled with great customer service, and delicious tacos. Tried 5 different tacos total and each one was definitely worth the price and filled with great quality ingredients. My favorite is the buttermilk fried chicken, it's juicy, fried to perfection and the bacon bits are sooo good. Also really enjoyed the tatchos, the only thing I personally didn't like was the wings. They are just way too small and lacking flavor. The margaritas are decent, especially during happy hour. They got a nice beer selection and other liquor selections available too. Overall this place is a great addition to Savannah and I look forward to multiple visits in the future.
Delicious food, would go again! We ordered 3 tacos- Jamaican jerk chicken, brisket, and steakhouse. All of them were wonderful but the Jamaican jerk chicken was the stand out, especially on such a hot day. Topped with pineapple it was refreshing and filling. We also ordered Yuka brisket fries, which held their own, but are heavier and would pair better with a late night out. The service was fast and the restaurant is more bar like, thankfully with a few seats outside so we could enjoy our meal there with our dog and stroller read more
Hands down!! This place is a pretty casual dine in with a bar. There were limited staff when we went here so food has come out late. But otherwise everything tasted so delicious. We have tried almost all the tacos and yuca fries, there wasn't anything we didn't love. Must visit! read more

We tried 7 different tacos and the tatchos... there were zero items that we wouldn't order again. I'm very glad yelp recommended this place. The fried chicken taco was soulful, and i also recommend the ahi tuna taco for a lighter option. Full bar and local brews are available if the time calls for it. They even have a signature cocktail menu. read more

Looking for a nice place to enjoy a tasty taco, then you have to stop by A Taco Affair. Never been here before, however we were at the bike store next door and figured let's try it. After all, everybody likes a good taco. A Taco Affair did not disappoint. We had the steak taco where the beef was really tender and flavorful, and had the right amount of seasoning across the entire taco on a corn tortillas. I have never had a taco with fried chicken on it and I must say I am now a fan. The buttermilk fried chicken was hot and fresh out the oil as it was hot to bite in to as it should be. The Korean BBQ taco as also good, however it is an acquired taste. I would definitely go back and devour another few steak tacos for sure. The service was fast and efficient and did not keep us waiting at all. The atmosphere of the place was nice and I could definitely see this as a nice little taco Tuesday spot for friends to enjoy some tacos, libations, good conversation and laughs. read more

Absolutely delicious and everything I could have hoped for. The brisket was tender, the crab was tasty, the street corn - amazing - and the shrimp was shrimpin'. Highly suggest the churros ice cream bowl with BOTH sauces. Will definitely be back next time we're in Savannah! 4/5 stars - Food so good we went back again the next day read more

Definitely come check this place out! I am so glad this spot is open! I live around the corner and have been pumped for a taco spot to join the west side of town! Tacos were big, and filling! My fiancé and I both got 3 and that was plenty for lunch! Great hangout spot, with multiple TVs so can't wait to hang out there during football season. Friendliest guys working, took time getting to know us and chatting about how they got to Sav and whatnot. Crab cake taco: 5/5 Buffalo cauliflower: 4/5 Traditional: 4/5 Tuna taco: 5/5 Al pastor: 4/5, a little too spicy for me but I'm a wimp Po boy: 5/5 Writing this review is making me hungry and wanting to go back In fact, I need to get back to try their churros! Also, liquor license is in the works, so margaritas will be coming soon! read more
Welcome to Savannah's newest taco spot! Located on the corner of Montgomery and Hall, they have the corner spot in this new development. Inside they have a lot of seating including at the bar. They don't have any drinks yet except for bottled drinks listed on their menu. All tacos are on white corn tortillas. All of our tacos were loaded with toppings and fillings. Here's what we got: Sesame tuna taco, no hoisin sauce to keep it gluten-free. The tuna was chilled and fresh. Jerk chicken - I liked the flavors. There was a lot of chicken. Mexican street corn - not like a typical elote because the sauce used, but great. Buttermilk fried chicken - Alex really liked this one. This was his favorite of his 3. Al pastor - might have had too much lemon but good. Steak - blue cheese was a great addition but Alex said he preferred the other two. Churros with Rumchatta dipping sauce - freshly cooked, heavy, and tasty dipping. This would be great with an espresso! Next time: I'll try the brisket taco. read more

Labor Day weekend. Chilling, took a ride downtown after some running some errands. Downtown was still full of people and no parking. But I remembered a new taco spot on Hall St. A Taco Affair Low Country as I am walking in I ask a women leaving, how is it. She says my husband owns it and we are from NJ. So now I had to go in, needed to check out a fellow northerners spot. It's a cool clean spot in a corner lot attached to the new Skylark Apartments. The area is what we call up and coming. I met Mike the owner from N. Jersey and Bri the bartender, from the SAV (once they get their official license). Very nice people trying to make their way. I ordered the three taco box, plus one. You can pick three of the same or mix and match. Of course I like variety. I order the Steakhouse, the Pork El Pastor and the BBQ Brisket. And for the bonus I went for the Buffalo Cauliflower. The tacos are fresh and made to order. The steak was tender. The brisket was good and the sauce had a nice sweetness. The cauliflower was yummy, crunchy and good texture with a nice spice kick, but not overwhelmingly so. Don't sleep on the veggie tacos. I tried churros. They have three dipping sauces for the churros. A chocolate chili, salted caramel and Rumchata cream cheese. I love caramel, but that cream cream cheese sauce will change your life. And the chocolate sauce is wonderful, but watch out it's got a kick. Despite some of their sport affiliations (Cowboys, Jets and Packers) the place has great potential. And once they get their complete liquor license the potential goes even higher. Oh, they have a taco lotto on Tuesday's. If you pick the right taco combo of three you win a $25 gift card. That puts a whole new meaning on Taco Tuesday. Another reason to show up. Lastly, the menu has other tasties on the menu besides tacos. I can't wait to try them. #ATacoAffair #tacotrio #churros #savannaheats #spicykick #eatyourveggies #crazysexyfull read more

Great spot for lunch as it was right around the corner from our airbnb on a rainy Thursday. Our 8 year old son ordered the chicken strips and tots. He enjoyed his meal. Husband got the lunch special w/a choice of two tacos- the special- chorizo and steakhouse w/a side of tachos. I ordered the shrimp po boy and fried chicken tacos. Everything was tasty and was just enough. Owners are friendly and provided great service. Next time we are in Savannah, we'll be back. read more

Delicious food. I was in town for less than 24-hours and needed to grab a quick bite before the event I was in town for started. Decided on this spot cause it was a mile from my airbnb but also the menu showed my two favorite sandwiches put into taco form (shrimp po'boy and tofu bahn mì)! Had to happen. Did not disappoint. I got the yuka fries on the side. Do yourselves a favor and try them out. Got to chatting with Mike, the owner and he's a stellar human. 10/10 highly recommend! read more

Okay this was a nice establishment. The service is really non existent because you order at a little computer then seat yourself and they bring the food to you, so it wasn't bad or good just nonexistent. Ambiance is alright it gives like a bar and grill kinda vibe. As for the food the taco types are definitely unique and I love the concept itself. However I just wasn't super fond of most of the tacos. My favorite was definitely the po boy taco. It was crispy, savory, and the sauce was a good creamy balance. The bulgogi one was kinda dry, like the pork was overcooked and the kimchi didn't have the flavor I expected. Lastly, the jerk taco had tons of flavor but no actual seasoning if that makes sense. The tots were okay.. the cheese sauce wasn't very good and that kind of ruined them for me. read more
