    On Monday August 17 2020 a very large water oak that was in my backyard that had been hit by lightning split and the top came crashing down. At that point I needed to get the rest of the tree cust down asap as a very large branch was remaining over my house. I had used A Sun State Tree previously to remove several large water oaks in my front yard and had a very good experience with them then. So I called them first. A sales consultant Kevin was out within an hour and gave me an estimate of 2500 to "remove" it as was written on the contract. I agreed and signed the contract. They had a crew out within two hours at about 3PM in the afternoon. They quickly went to work and cleaned up debris, cut off the large limbs over my house etc. Shortly before 5 Kevin asked if I could give them payment. Normally I would not pay for a service until complete but due to my good past experiences I said ok and gave him payment. The crew cut down the rest of th tree that was standing (leaving it in my yard)and said they would be back tomoorrow to cut it up and get the rest of the debris. The next Day no one showed up in the morning and I called and was told they would be there that afternoon. The following day the same thing and when I called I was assured someone would be there that afternoon. No one showed. This went on for two more days same thing. I called Kevin in the afternoon the 4th day who did not answer and I left a message and he never returned my call. I then went to the interent and saw lots of reports from people saying they did not complete work. in my case the crew was here a little over 2 hours cut down the rest of the tree (leaving it in my yard) and took only a third of the debris. They left a pile of logs on my front lawn near the road I had to remove at this point so my grass did not get killed. I have never had such a bad experience with a service of any kind. The office lies everyday that they will be out and the sales consultant Kevin stopped answering my calls and does not respond to messages left.

    WHAT A NIGHTMARE! How do I give zero stars? It has now been three weeks since A Sun State Tree Service came to remove a large oak tree from our yard and I have a large patch of mud in front of my house, deep ruts running through my front yard and neighbor's yard, and a hole with exposed plumbing by my water shutoff valve. The response to these issues has been extremely unprofessional so I wish I had seen the other reviews before we hired them. The first communication the crew had with us (other than asking for a check before the job was done) was knocking on the door and asking if I had a shovel while water and mud was spraying in my yard and trying to get someone out to fix the damage has been ridiculous. I don't remember the exact order of events (because it has been three weeks) but at one point it started raining and everyone just drove off. I don't remember if all of the limbs were gone or if the water was fixed. It took them several tries to fix the broken pipe and I know the Bobcat driver was the last one here and came back after most people had left. He was the one who said he talked to the owner and they would be back NEXT WEEK (meaning the week after the tree was removed which was on a Saturday) to grind the stump and fix the yard. I gave them a full week to fix the damage assuming they would do what thy said they would do. I called the office the next Monday and the woman who answered the phone was pretty rude. She asked who my salesman was and when I said I didn't know she acted like I was an idiot for not knowing the name of the guy my wife talked to about a month before. I didn't hear anything for 2 days so I called back and talked to the same woman. This time I had the name of my sales person, ANGELO. I didn't hear from Angelo until the next day and he said they would "probably" be able to do something about the neighbor's yard but "probably not" mine. I let him know this wasn't acceptable. A few days later, I got a text from Angelo: "Your stump tomm.taking pics.to owner about grass. Angelo sunstatetree" I can only assume this means he was taking pictures of the damage to show the owner and the stump would be removed "tomorrow". That is the last communication I have had from A Sun State Tree Service. That was Monday. It is now Saturday. The stump was ground on Tuesday, but we have not had a phone call, text, or even a knock at the door since Monday (including no contact by whoever ground the stump even though my wife was home at the time). The tree was in our front yard near our neighbors driveway and had been struck by lightening and needed to be removed before it fell on our house or neighbor's cars. After cutting down the tree, the Bobcat driver drove back and forth over the easement in front of our house quickly turning the grass into mud. He also drove back and forth over the water shutoff valve eventually breaking the water main. He then attempted to drive on our sidewalk which was too small for the Bobcat so he made a rut down most of the length of our front yard. Then he drove through the neighbor's yard since their driveway was adjacent to the tree. This all could have been avoided by putting some boards down to cover the easement. Less than a hundred dollars with of lumber could have saved hundreds of dollars of damage to my lawn. Now I have to take time next week to either get them to fix it or get someone else to fix it and then try to get the money back from them. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

    They did an awesome job taking down the tree on 5/15/19. But the stump was ground and it's debris is still here. Our H.O.A. is asking about the pile. So we started to cleanup and found the stump under the pile! Our contract states Grind stump and haul Grindings. We've called numerous times. Always an excuse.

    Very professional and prompt!

    We had Sun State trim a large oak and take down a rain tree that was growing into the foundation. The first visit Chris met with me and discussed how important the oak tree was, he was very knowledgeable and reasonable priced. I called him a second time to come out again with more questions, he came out again on time and very patient and explained everything. We hired them! On the day of trimming there were at least 6 guys, Jeff was the trimmer, they were so nice, polite and very professional! They all worked together and cleaned everything, even the roof! Jeff told me that the logs in the front would be picked up within 48 hours, they were picked up in 2 hours, they told me that the stump would be ground within 72 hours it was done the NEXT day!!! These guys are the best!! I can't believe there are negatives about this company!!

    I nick named the worker in bucket Tree master! Great value and they were prompt which was greatly appreciated since it is hurricane season

    Horrible company, no customer service. No follow up. Don't get taken, find another company to do your landscaping, sod work, and paving

While there were indeed disagreements and misunderstandings throughout the project(which could have been handled more cordially by Sam; and we have spoken to him about that) the simple fact of the matter is that our crew was not responsible for the damage that she is claiming to be our fault. The damage that she is referring to was already present prior to the work performed and she only started making false claims about what happened after becoming infuriated that we did not obey her every demand regarding work that we performed on HER NEIGHBORS PROPERTY whom she has an ongoing feud with and had zero authority or decision making power in the matter. So ever since that event she has been harassing our company; leaving several bad reviews on every platform available and even changed her story many times along the way. It almost seems like she was looking for some type of excuse to create a problem with us from the beginning . I have already reprimanded the crew for falling into her argument trap (as we are not interested in perpetuating neighborly fueds and having long drawn out arguments over small details that turn into all out war and social assassination attempts). Although I still can't fathom for the life of me why someone would go so far out of their way just to hurt a small business who only had a minor disagreement and brief exchange of unpleasantries..WE DID NOT DAMAGE HER PROPERTY! So I'm really not sure what her insurance policy is like but I do know that many policies cover accidents but do not cover damage resulting from negligence (which I believe her claim falls under and would mean that her false claim would be financially rewarding to her). Some people are willing to go to any lengths to get a leg up in the world or to get revenge on those who do not bow to them. And for that, I am sorry that none of my crew bowed down to you on that day and I am sorry that your insurance policy didn't cover your claim due to it being classified of negligent inaction. Maybe she saw an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone in this situation, I don't know. But Diane, if you read this, please stop harassing our company and allow us to continue helping our community, supporting our famillies, and adding value to the society that we live in. We have zero interest in continuing this long and drawn out one-sided battle any longer. Please Diane, it would be much appreciated if you could stop this. Thanks, Joe Shishan 407-868-3194
