I had SB Tree Service trim two very large live oaks, one large holly tree, and one tall palm tree. From the first contact with the company, they were very professional, responsive, and wasted no time setting up an appointment to provide a free estimate followed quickly with a date for service the following week. They arrived with a large crew that made short, but very precise work of the job. David, who did the initial estimate, came to supervise the job and made sure I was directly involved with the amount of trimming I wanted done so I would be happy with the end result. Before starting any trimming, David went over everything we discussed during the estimate visit, including the crew so they understood the scope of the job while making sure I agreed with it as well. I first encountered SB Tree Service when they knocked on my front door while handling a job for a neighbor. I wanted a few big boughs of a live oak away from my driveway so I had them do an estimate. One of their licensed arborists came and pointed out a number of other issues with the tree that I had not previously noticed but were clearly problematic. They did the work of opening up, redirecting, and trimming the huge oak incredibly quickly. Their huge team had the place cleaned up and hauled off within about 20 minutes of starting the job. After paying, I could hardly believe the price I paid could make it worth their while with such a big crew. I spoke about it with the owner, who basically said that they could afford to keep their prices so low by doing jobs so quickly that they could do more jobs in a day. I was so happy with their service that I just had them come out and trim up my other large trees to prepare for hurricane season. Once again, I was blown away by their speed, price, and great work. My other half and I had recently purchased our first house knowing it needed tree work done asap. 5 of them needed removed as they were inches from the house and large. We had contacted other companies for estimates and had called the week prior to move forward with the job but hadn't heard back from any of them at that time. SB was working on a neighbors yard and Eddie was going around to the neighbors with their cards. Our house was one he stopped at, I asked for them to come take a look at what we needed done. Dave was at our house within minutes addressing our concerns. He did not yes everything we were asking, he gave us realistic expectations on how this process works with the city and what would need to be done for the safety of our home and any maintenance after, etc. After speaking with him we decided this was the company we wanted to go with. By that afternoon the city's arborist was at our house to approve what we were doing and 48 hours later the job complete. 5 trees down, 6 stumps ground, a large amount of roots that had grown to the surface were taken down around the property and remaining 6 trees were groomed with not one branch left behind for us to have to clean. As many companies promise to give great results we can honestly say SB not only did that but far exceeded our expectations. From the communication to the work done, this company and every employee were true to their word, experts in their craft and made sure everything was done properly so we could have a safe home. This husband and wife team are both Board Certified Arborists. They both know, care & share the world of trees & shrubs and THEY GENUINELY CARE!! There is nothing to think about. I had four different Tree Removal estimates literally in one morning timed one hour apart. There would have to be qualifying reasons for me hiring one of the four companies. First, I needed the job done immediately. Second, I needed a fair price and a commitment that the job would be executed flawlessly on completion & inspection. The Cty of Ormond Beach was truly very kind to me, connecting me with the city arborist, who expedited the permitting in a very timely manner. Thanks to Angel Forrest. She is a very important & educated Board-Certified Arborist & partner in this company. I needed many very large trees removed with stumps aggressively ground out in preparation for concrete slabs & footings that were to follow shortly after. the tree removals In addition, many other smaller shrubs & thick brush were to be completely cleared out. In addition, an entire half acre of large trees needed to be trimmed up and pruned, including very difficult large limbs extending all over the screened-in lanai and the pool. A most concerning phase for most companies who do not own these specialty & yet very necessary machines. SB Tree Services has them all. 'No Need To Call on a Friend' The project scope also included the entire front yard & completely overgrown driveway canopy of trees elevated & trimmed. Lots of work & tons of wood & log removal & a massive amount of chipping and shredding. The key to executing a job like this must be having a GREAT AAA+ rated team of trained skilled employees working together in harmony. Chris said the machines would arrive & start on Monday around 7:30 AM. We woke up early and I saw all the rain because we had that hurricane coming up out of the Gulf. No Cancellation!! Not postponed !! The rain did not stop him from keeping his promise. All of the men knew exactly what they needed to do as Chris orchestrated & went around the property with the huge team of trained seasoned professionals assigning each their job tasks. Every crew member was on different equipment required for that particular tree & task. Giant chipping trucks were placed strategically, Robotic Boom trucks were directed carefully to specific places on this job. Multiple Telescopic bucket trucks were planted, leveled and then elevated above the screened lanai. Pay loaders and other tractors were busy moving the heavy logs to be hauled away. Tree climbers were ascending other trees. It was all just incredible. Each crew member was executing precisely every detail assigned to them. I used SB two years ago with no complaint. I called them on 5/28/24, & they gave me an estimate that I accepted. Work to be done 6/5 or 6/6 or 6/7. I agreed. Didn't hear from them, so I called on 6/7. I was told an estimator would call me back in about 10 minutes. Never heard from anyone. I called again today 6/10/24. Got a callback, but couldn't give me a date & time to do the work. Said he would callback in a few minutes. Again, no call. I guess that now that $2000 belongs to someone more reliable. read more

Excellent, highly professional company! From the beginning, the company was responsive and followed through. I used this company twice. The first time was to trim my palm trees and cut some hedges back. They were so good I went back. They removed 7 small ornamental trees, 1 large tree, cleaned up our tree line in the back yard and trimmed our hedges on the side of our house. They ground up all the stumps that day. I spoke with David throughout my experience. He was nice, prompt, thorough, honest, and followed through efficiently. He was always at the front about everything. No surprises. He was available for questions, and solution oriented. I was impressed. At one point there was a slight miscommunication about the stumps being ground. I noticed that they weren't. I contacted David and he immediately had the stump grinder come back out that day and correct the situation. Not to mention that the stump grinder was a very pleasant individual as well. We are rating them poorly because there was COMPLETE DISREGARD for our landscaping. They plowed over plumerias, a bed filled with crossandra, broke pots with plants in them, cracked the sewer cover & we watched a worker drop a palm tree right on top of a landscaped bed completely ruining it. They cut palm trees & rather than taking them to the curb as agreed, they took them into the state owned wetlands behind the house which is not permitted. Now we have to figure out how to get them out of there. We didn't discover this until several weeks later. We had to confront the workers to do the agreed upon work. They drove an huge piece of equipment into a neighbor's driveway to cut a tree down that was on the property line & never asked permission of the homeowner to enter their property, for which my husband had to make ammends. Even though they took care of most things I would never,ever, ever hire or recommend them. read more

Tree arborist, and other employees operating various equipment, were outstanding. So yesterday I was sitting in my backyard and looking at all my palm trees. I'm thinking, oh geez, I need to have them trimmed again and get all the seed pods out of them. But it's always been a bit of a struggle to find someone to show up And do a good job at a fair price. This morning. Knock on the door from someone with SB tree service, smart marketing. They were working in the neighborhood and going door-to-door. Myself and my neighbor both took them up on their services after Damien, the project manager looked evaluated and came up with what I thought was a fair price for the amount of work that needed done. The team got to work. That was at 9 o'clock this morning. It's 1130 and they're already gone and my yard is cleaned up. They trimmed and topped nine palm trees took down one very large palm tree, and took down a Keylime tree that I didn't want any longer as well as trimmed up some shrubs. I am so pleased. Damien was very nice and professional. The guys that worked in the yard were a well the oiled machine you can tell they are a team. I called SB Tree Service for an estimate. They showed up quickly, gave me their estimate. Their estimate was $1,200.00 more than my lowest estimate, which is 75 percent higher and $1000.00 more than my second lowest estimate. Their price was obscene. It was a skinny maple tree, $1,600.00?? Really? I just had the tree cut down by another company and saved $1000.00. Please shop around, get multiple estimates to make an informed decision. read more

Removed a tree next to the house and stump grind, I also had to use their Arborist to satisfy the HOA. They were on time, had the equipment to do it right and with with a good ethic of getting it done without a bit of drama. The workers were all professional and seem to know their jobs well. Seem a little bit on the high side on price but not to much more than other estimates , but the equipment they brought would indicate they have a big investment in having the stuff to get the job done without the risk to persons or Property. These guys were fantastic! After receiving estimates from 4 other companies, I was in the process of making my decision when SB Tree Service happened to be in my neighborhood working on another job. Dan came by to offer me a free estimate and I'm so glad I heard him out! Franco and David came by shortly after and went around the property several times with me, making notes and getting the scope of the job. I needed 11 trees and 4 bushes removed, in addition to having several large trees trimmed. They were soon joined by a few others from their team and they gave me a detailed explanation of how the job would go. On project day they showed up on time, with a full crew and ready to work. Everything happened exactly when and how it was discussed, and for the agreed upon price. They were a very professional operation, everyone knew their job and they worked great as a team. They walked around the property several times as the day progressed to make sure all the different areas were being tended to properly. The guys were really amazing in making sure my driveway, my fence, and several other palms and fruit trees weren't damaged. And that was no small feat considering the size of the machinery that they used!
