I recently wrote an honest review after the place sent me an email with a request for me to write a…read morereview for them. I am very honest and fair and never just write a review that is 5 stars or 1 star because I am emotionally charged or anything. My hope is someone will see my review and have an honest view of what to expect. 2 days after my review of this facility the manager woman I have never seen before handed me an envelope with a smile on her face and said my lease is being terminated and I have till the first to get out. She said I had multiple violations accessing the property after closing where my gate code was used. I told her that was impossible because I am very vigilant about abiding by all the rules and I promised her there is nobody who can show a single piece of evidence backing that claim. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager; so I asked to speak to someone above her and she said that I was not allowed to speak to anyone above her but she would let them know I would like to speak to them, but not to get my hopes up because these decisions are almost never reversed. I said this feels very much like I'm being discriminated against and that I'm disabled and the unit is very important to me. I repeated that I never broke the rule and nobody ever mentioned me violating a rule to allow me to make sure I never did it again and she said I was seen in the parking lot past 10pm and that is considered a violation. Me making a phone call after leaving my storage before I drove to my next destination is the claim after she realized I never accessed the gate with my code after hours and that was a bogus claim. I cannot believe I am being kicked out because I didn't give them a 5 stars review. This is the most childish behavior and to smile in someone's face when you know you are making a decision that is going to make a persons life extremely difficult is so messed up. How someone can enjoy that moment is disturbing. I used to be a Forman working up on the light rail and even when I had to fire someone who definitely deserved it, I felt terrible delivering that news because I was causing unknown hardship for him. This woman looked like it's her favorite thing to do. Save your money and energy and go to a nicer place with a better staff. These people were the worst, and their units were horrible too. I suggest going to pearl street self storage if it's convenient for you. Thank people are very nice and the units are the best I've ever seen. I can't write enough to describe how horrible secure space is. Don't go through what I went through and go somewhere else

I live up the street and saw my truck parked there last night. When I asked in do you mean the truck that was parked in front of your building this morning? She said yes we rent to our customers first. So it didn't matter that I had a reservation. It didn't matter that I have movers coming in an hour. And she gave me another company's number to call them to ask if they had a truck and she wouldn't do it for me although she should have in order to show good customer service. I decided to contact company as they were open to my input, however, they were only able to give me a $20.00 dollar discount. So now I pay $334.75 that started in December. Gee that's still a $95.75 increase. Even the rental markets for apartments only go up 10%. I do not recommend this company as I still feel like they gouged me and took advantage. I was able to see less cost for similar storage than current pricing before I decided on Secure Space and I hope all company's don't do this. If I had known they would do this I would have chosen another, closer to me, storage unit. I feel like I'm locked in as getting stuff to storage was costly and to remove it will be also, so I guess I'm stuck. Customer service through company office is not consistent and what reflected at office is not always same as talking and securing on line. One has to follow up to guarantee pricing. I will compliment the office staff as they are sympathetic, helpful and personal and units appear secure. I'm not sure these 2 benefits are worth the $98.00 monthly increase. I do plan on getting my things removed ASAP but that's dependent on circumstances currently waiting upon. I can't wait to vacate and save $100. Per month. Ask questions and get contacts in writing and do not assume they will be careful with you through honesty and pricing.

Rat Shit Storage Facility (16 photos)…read more I'm sure most out there are not nomadic and lived the life style I have in the past which has meant a storage shed or two somewhere most of my life. I've spent the day going through one of those sheds and was appalled at the condition of the contents. I'm wise to not storing any food stuffs but this time around the rats had chewed boxes, books, papers and stuffed items to get material to make their nests. They had pissed and shit on most everything in the shed including a couch, recliner, overstuffed chair, blankets and cushions, all of which had to be taken to the dump. There were nests where afterbirth was present and 5 dead carcasses intertwined with boxes and furniture along with droppings from one end to the other, top to bottom. None of the tenant insurance or property protection programs covers rats or vermin infestation or damage and a trip to small claims court will net you nothing as the owner will argue and point out the provision in their rental agreement that states they are not liable for rodents or pest damages. Rats and mice are just a part of dealing with day to day problems in the self-storage business. My suggestion is when someone is considering a public storage shed to do their research and don't be fooled by a website, analyze the quality of the property and buildings, ask if the provider has a pest control prevention program in place and once moved in see what can be done to protect the contents (peppermint oil, fresh cab, rat poison and rat bait) and make periodic visits to verify the condition of the contents. In this case Freeway Self Storage, http://freewayselfstoragetacoma.com/storage-space-tacoma.html, is diffidently a lower-tier establishment and hind sight being 20-20 I wish I had taken the time to research other facilities instead of being in a hurry to get out of town for the next adventure.... ):

Customer service is above and beyond, from day one, to the day we moved out, the ladies who helped us took the time to explain everything and answered all of our questions. Very personal & not cold or rushed at all. The area is gated and you can use a keypad or the app to open the gate. We opted to get the app & never had a problem using it to enter. It is a lot nicer than having to lean our your window or get out to type the code in the keypad, especially on cold rainy days. The app never glitched & you can view your payments & accounts too. I never felt worried about our belonging being here in this storage unit. I honestly forgot we had it for a moment or two until we drove past and remembered, oh yeah, that's were are stuff is all at. I hoenstly don't think I would have been that carefree about it if it wasn't behind locked gates. So, for me that was one less stress to worry about. When it was time for us to move out, all our belongings were in the exact same condition as we had left them with no issues. We will 100% be back for any of our future storage needs & highly recommend them to anyone who needs short term or long term storage.
