Otherwise, I would have been stuck with New Balance 990s that I couldn't wear. The staff should also watch for the issues Yadari pointed out, such as excess room in the front of the shoe, which was causing friction. I'm very thankful for the service and advice Yadari gave me.

I wasn't asking for a refund -- I simply wanted to exchange them for the same style in a normal fit. Because I didn't have the receipt or tag, I was told I couldn't make the exchange. The customer service was poor, and the manager, Raul, was not helpful. Considering how much they charge for their clothing, a much higher level of customer service is expected. I will no longer be shopping at Lululemon and will be taking my business to Alo instead.

So I have never taken the time to give an evaluation on Yelp but in this case I had too! Here is my story: I made a commitment earlier this year to take better care of myself by working out on a regular basis. As part of my resolution I thought new shoes were in order. I got a pair of cute grey/pink Reebok RunTone shoes, $100 bucks, (big waste of money)! More on this later.... I started walking 4 times a week, 3-4 miles. Over the months I gradually increased my workouts to walking, weight training and riding on the elliptical. Well, long story short during one of my workouts I injured myself. I tried everything to remedy it myself, but no luck. I then learned from internet research and my doctor that I have a dreaded painful condition called planar fasciitis. I never once thought my $100 Reebok RunTone shoes could be the culprit of my pain, but I was wrong. Many people told me that these shoes were all hype, but there are so many options of women exercise shoes to choose from that I was dizzy from all the choices and just went for cuteness! Big mistake... A friend at work told me about "A Runners Mind" in Burlingame. I live in San Jose and the idea of traveling to Burlingame from my home was not compelling, but I knew that if I wanted to continue my workouts and to keep on track with my resolution I needed to give new shoes a shot. So I made the drive, 50 minutes, best decision ever! Monte, one of the store owners, conducted what they call a gait analysis. He started by asking me to walk barefoot around the store. The goal was to determine, based upon the way I walk, and the way I distribute my weight, to find a shoe that is especially right for me. Monte brought out several pairs of shoes for me to try on, he told me that having high arches makes me susceptible to planar fasciitis and recommended that I also include orthotics to help stabilize my feet when I walk. What an incredible difference! I am now wearing Brooks Adrenaline GTS II running shoes to the gym, around the house, all the time. Best and most importantly, I'm living absolutely pain free! No arch pain what so ever! So a message to the staff at A Runners Mind: Thank you for spending time to help me. Your impressive knowledge of running/exercise shoes and dedication to making customers happy and satisfied is something you rarely see these days. My new shoes have given me a new found motivation to keep on working out AND they are very cute! read more

Please if you can help it, do not shop at this store. I am sure that you can find the same shoes elsewhere. The customer's at this location are an annoyance to the staff. The staff is extremely unhelpful and rude. It took me four times to get the $150.00 pair of shoes and I have not worn them because I am certain I received a used pair of shoes as new. The staff has no knowledge about their product; when I asked about a different color I was told that the shoes came only in the orange/pink, which was in stock. They just wanted to make sure I purchased those shoes. I had a prescription, so I was desperate to purchase something to give me relief. I took the shoes home just to find out that there were other colors available; furthermore when I tried to walk on them, I realized that they were the wrong size. I had to go back to the store to tell the salesperson that the shoes were the incorrect size, and that I knew that there were other colors available ( I need the shoes for work and I can't were orange color shoes), so please order a more darker color. The staff was not happy about assisting me, but they order the pair of shoes. About a week later, I received a call indicating that my shoes were ready to be picked up, so I went to pick them up and took them home. Upon review, I realized that the shoes did not have the inserts and they looked used. I went back to the store and was told that the shoes did not come with inserts and that they were not used. The shoes were ordered or I was told - a few days later I received another call to pick up the new shoes. I have the shoes and have not worn them because I am sure I received the same used pair of shoes - I am sure that they just pulled the inserts from another pair. Avoid this store it's my suggestion - I don't know what I am going to do with the used shoes. read more

I went in here today because my feet are currently in bad shape with plantar fasciitis and I needed to invest in some good running shoes. I was greeted by Caleb who took his time and was very patient and helpful in assisting me with getting some new shoes. He helped me find the right pair for me. He was very informative and friendly and is a good salesperson. He introduced me to a few other things to purchase for my feet but not in a pressured sales kind of manner. I first visited the store about 2 years ago, when I needed tips on using a foam roller after running a half marathon. Monte and Faisal were extremely helpful on that first visit, staying open late and teaching me how to use a foam roller. They encouraged me to join them on the track for group workouts. Since then, I've become a regular, attending their weekly group runs, joining their ARM academy, and even stopping by the store just to talk about running. I am not a veteran runner by any means, recently I have signed up for a half marathon and was in need of new shoes. I had through my that this would be like all my other shoe experiences but I was wrong. I meet Dawson who was phenomenal, he took the time to help me get the prefect running shoe, I felt comfortable and he had a way of encouraging me efforts to run even inviting me to a runners group. Extremely disappointed in the direction this shop has taken. As a long-time patron, I find their recent public stance accusing the President and most citizens, including their own diverse customer base, of heinous crimes to be unprofessional and alienating. I go to a running store for community and expertise, not to be alienated by aggressive political rhetoric. It's a shame to see a local staple become so divisive. The store seems be good for our community and organizes a nice group of runners. I give them five stars for being attentive to my needs even though I am not a runner anymore. I hit the high school. AstroTurf and do my sprints. Last year I used my shoes over 500 times; mornings and some afternoons and they held up well. Good quality. I am an avid golfer and have practiced with the shoes and if you know anything about golf you'd realize how much stress it puts on the sides of a shoe. To your continued success. read more

Excellent place. My old coach in high school recommended this store to me all the time. The people in there are focused on each customer, and you can get the shoes you want. A bad thing is that there are not many discounts, and you usually have to buy the shoes for marked prices. They give discounts to students, but you have to be a student for that. The store advertises community runs, so you can definitely get to know a few people while shopping in this store. read more

Upon entry, I was immediately greeted by Carlos, who had a genuinely upbeat and welcoming attitude. He asked if we needed help and, when he found out we were shopping for clothes, he casually explained a great in-store promotion on pants and shirts from specific brands. It was actually a perfect fit for what we were looking for and really helpful to know. He let us know he was around if we had any questions, without being pushy. Later, while browsing shirts in the back, I was approached by the store manager, Nat. She was incredibly friendly, fun, and easy to talk to. She helped me navigate the massive selection and pinpoint exactly the style I'd been struggling to find elsewhere. Even though the shirts I chose didn't qualify for the promotion, I still had to have them, they were exactly my son's style. As we explored more, we came across some awesome studded belts and even a classic FSAS belt buckle. I ended up spending way more than I expected -- because I genuinely wanted it all. But I also saved around $50 thanks to the in-store discounts which really made the value increase. I will tell you why he's the best guy in town. George is a 2nd generation skate boot-maker. George designs the boot to fit the skaters foot. Not only that, but the materials he uses makes sure the boots are of the best quality and they are built to last. My skater went through 4 - 5 boots not because they fell apart, but because they advanced as a skater or her feet grew. George and his crew did a great job, from beginning to end, recommending blades as they grew and advanced in their sport, tweaking the fit just so, so that blisters and callouses did not set in and occasionally providing a sharpening when we were in a pinch! So here's the thing about SP-Teri - they are simply the best. Four pairs of skating boots in 20 some-odd years and I'm here to tell you if it is quality skates we're looking for, look no further than SP-Teri. George and his crew have seen so many skater's feet that they can diagnose and fix anything that goes on with their skates. They stand behind their product 100%. A trip to SP-Teri usually begins with a paper tracing of the skater's foot and then based on they type of skater (dance, recreational, pairs, for realz), a recommendation will be made on the type of skates. Then, usually in concert with the skater's coach, blades are selected and the crew sets about hand-making the skates custom for the skater. At the first fitting, the skater tries on the boots, sensitive areas (ankle bones, back sides, etc.) are blown out and "cooked" into place (no, literally cooked into place - he puts them in an oven and cooks your boots while you wait.) Then skate blades are mounted and there's another quick look-see to make sure they are even and then the blades are tightened in and we're ready to go! If, along the way there are any problems that crop up, the crew does their best using years and years of experience to get the skater gliding again. So, yeah, almost 20 years later, I highly recommend SP-Teri. They are local and all-American, they know what they are doing from generations of experience and they stand behind their products. We've been to others (once) but we came back because really, to us, no one compares.

Unless I'm interested in ending my career. I'm not one to usually do any of this but I want to warn people to NOT BUY from SP-Teri EVER. As I know others have been having issues with their workmanship.

The wooly rascal slippers last for a long time and because of the natural shealing they don't get as smelly as other slippers. We now order from their online store.

I first learned of them while attending the Harvest Festival years ago. They also sell online. My mother fell in love with a leather purse that is a sling/backpack style. She has had the original one I purchased for her for over 10 years now and also has a couple others. The leather has held up beautifully and the owner has gladly made minor repairs to the bag. I also have a couple of pairs of his sheepskin shoes/slipper/mocassins that come up to the ankle. Other than them stretching a little over the years the sheepskin and soles holds up extremely well. Rather than give my money to Uggs I prefer to give my money to a small business in the area. Wooly Rascals deserves it.
