Very dissatisfied with the services. Massage was mediocre, facial treatment was uncomfortable. she critiqued my face and made me feel horrible about myself not one positive thing was said about my skin. Pedicure was horrible for the money I paid. Foot bath was old and broken. Lady told me to tell her when my feet started to burn to let her know she will turn it off. Also there was no massage on feet my toe nails were cut unevenly and then she slapped thick coats of nail polish. I honestly could have done a better job, or my toddler could have. I have been to a relaxed you before and have been happy but after my experience today I will never go back there again. The massage therapist seemed to be well educated on the human body, but I probably still would not return. When I called to make an appointment, I was given a price Of $65. When I arrived for my appointment, I was charged $75, but told they "threw in free aroma therapy." Once in the room, the therapist spent 30 minutes of my 60 minute massage doing a consult, where she determined that it was best not to do the FREE/$10 aroma therapy that they had just charged me for, and that we should focus in only one area. So, I basically spent $75 on a 30 minute neck rub, that smelled regular, then went back home exactly how I left. read more

I wasn't overly impressed by this place. The entrance is sort of weird to me. If you are looking for an upscale spa this is not the place to go! The staff was friendly enough. I can't comment on the prices because someone treated me to a massage and facial here. I will say I appreciate the woman that did my facial being informative about products without giving me a hard sell. I ended up buying them because I did like the product. The massage was a different story. I could tell the therapist was sick. I'm praying it was allergies and she wasn't rubbing her germs all over my body. It was just sort of gross and I found it difficult to relax. If I go to a spa I want the whole experience. I want top of the like accommodations. I only use this spa for the brazilian waxes, Dion is the absolute best! She is professional, extremely knowledgeable, funny and will make such an uncomfortable experience as comforting as possible for you. Most importantly, she knows that different hair textures are not treated the same when it comes to waxing (something that one of her coworkers didn't understand when I went in on a day that she was not there). She leaves informative notes on your chart for reminders for herself and others. She is the best, she gets the job done extremely well and everything is so clean! I go to A Relaxed You for my pampering days and the massage therapists are great! The deep tissue massage releases my tension knots from sitting at a desk 50-60 hours a week, and leaves me with the "good" pain where I know the muscles are getting back in line. I'll often accompany my massage with a facial, and the aestheticians are very knowledgeable. I have combination skin that is often dependent on the weather. She makes astute observations and talks me through what kinds of oils/cleansers/treatments she is using depending on what my skin needs. Plus, the prices are unbeatable around the area! read more

I was looking for a spa in my area and I visited here this past saturday for my very first bikini wax. I called ahead on wendesday to ask questions and to book my appointment. I asked them if they had the numbing spray before I booked and was informed they did so I booked my appointment. Upon my arrival I checked in and was asked to pay before services were rendered. I really didnt have a problem with that. They walked me to my private steam/ shower room..which I liked a lot and showed me how to work everything.. The steam shower took abt 5 of your 30 min for the steam to start but once it got started it was awesome. After Jillian came to get me and informed me she would be doing the waxing. I told her it was my first time & she told me not to worry. I also asked about the waxing numbing spray and was informed that they didn't have any. I was a little upset that they would tell me they had it . That was the deciding factor that made me make the appointment with them.. However I had Jillian as my Esthetician and She was very professional and made me feel at ease. The experience wasn't as bad as I though it would be and I do have Jillian to thank for that. Ok, perhaps I should not rate this place based on one experience. I have driven by this place on my way home from work for years, so I figured, they must be good, they are still here! Well, a few months ago, I came in on short notice and got a male masseur (yes, that's redundant.) I've had dozens of massages, only 3 from men, and all but one from the females were better than those of the men. Not a very large sample, but I've had only two massages that were unpleasant and this was one of them. This may be a sexist generalization, I admit, but It's not due to homophobia--not mine anyway, maybe his. I think it takes a special kind of empathy to do this well, and some people may just not have that. read more

So as everyone knows I turned 30 this weekend. A couple of weeks ago I booked a surprise visit for a friend to "A Relaxed You" for her birthday, and I thought I would do the same. For a birthday present to myself I booked a one hour deep tissue massage. The name of the establishment is "A Relaxed You" located at 11121 South Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. The young lady on the phone was very nice and explained to me there would be a $25 fee if I canceled, and to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment. The appointment was scheduled for 9:00am, and I was excited to go. When I arrived for my appointment at 8:45 which is 15 minutes early the doors were locked.I returned to my car and waited awhile longer. At 8:50am the "OPEN" sign in the window finally came on, and I was ready for my relaxation to start.Instead the nice receptionist Danielle informed me that the young lady who booked my appointment forgot to write it in their book. When Danielle checked the computer she was able to see all of my information had been confirmed for the appointment, but not written down in the masseuse schedule. So even though I called and booked a $75 massage, came 15 minutes early, I would be leaving without service. Unless I was able to comeback at 12:45pm, but if not the next time I come they would only charge me $50. All of that is nice, but you all have to do better. I barely squeezed time out of my busy schedule for that hour, and to wake up on the one day I could sleep in for nothing! While I listen to the receptionist chat about how tired she was from laying up with her boyfriend at Depaul University the night before. When she could of been finding other ways to rectify the situation.That really made me very LIVID! If you are a no show they charge you a $25 fee. If they screw up you get a pat on the back with a discounted massage that they will note in your account. Forgive me if I am not excited with the customer service. If you forgot to to write down my appointment, you probably will forget to write down the discount. As you read this you may say, "What's the big deal?". Well as a working, single mother of two relaxation time is sparse. So when finally do make time for it you actually want to relax. I have been to this place in the past, but one visit like this can make you rethink the place. I work hard for my money, and my time is precious I will not be going back. If I had to rate this place it would get 2 out of 10 stars for today's experience. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was for the nice decor. read more

I've gotten massages hear about five different times and each time was a positive experience. The rooms are a comfortable temperature and humidity and the lighting and music is relaxing. Every therapist I've had has been kind and has done a good job with the massage. On two occasions I've gone in with severe sciatic pain from a tense piriformis and they've been able to release it, giving me much needed relief. read more

I had a groupon for yoga and my sister and I decided to take a class. We had an asian instuctor I can't rmember her name. The class was terrible. She was doing all these crazy advance poses like doing hand stands against the wall. She didn't want to do any modifications. She doesn't know the parts of the body to tell you how she wants you to move. I didn't even use the rest of my groupon it was so bad. She was also kind of rude. I have scar tissue in my back from a very old injury- he was able to work that out and give me back my 6 foot frame instead of my 5'10 shrunken self. Christopher heard what I was saying, asked the right questions, and helped me get rid of the pain. I had a facial, eyebrow wax, and Brazilian done here for my wedding by Gillian (or Jillian?). It was my first experience for everything other than the eyebrow wax and she did an amazing job. Very relaxing and my skin looks awesome. I had a mani/pedi done here and I won't again. I'm going to have to have it re-done because it looks pretty bad. No time to dry my toes and the flip flops broke on my way to the car - when I had to pull them off instead of walking barefoot on glass, it totally ruined the polish. My hands also got smudged because of the amount of polish that was put on... Wasn't dry even 45 minutes later. But seriously, other than the nails, super awesome experience which is why the 5 stars. Massage therapist Christopher is really great. He listens, which many therapists don't. His techniques are thoughtful and effective. I went in with an awful sudden tightening up of my lower back -- so bad I could barely get out of the car. He didn't just massage it to make it feel better for an hour, he pinpointed the source of the problem and hit it aggressively with a variety of strokes and techniques. Next day it was 75-80% better and stayed that way. I saw him for a follow up two weeks later. My back problem was basically gone after that. I'll definitely be a regular client. read more

I've been going here for 6 years now, I absolutely love it. Prices are about average for the suburbs (I think it's at 70$ for an hour, 90$ for 1.5hrs). Great for both stress reduction and back problems. My favorites are Elizabeth and Rita for a really messed up back, and Denise and Jill for relaxation, though Rita is great at both. The facial I received at A Relaxed You was the worst I have ever had. I have spa facials done 4 times a year or more. This was my second time at this spa and my experience was disappointing. The steam machine did not work at all--who has ever heard of a facial without steam. My therapist stated the machine had been broken for weeks. This tells me management really does not care about the quality of service given to their patrons. My therapist was nice and tried to make the best of a bad situation. I was not relaxed at all. My surroundings were cluttered and cramped and the decor was below average. I complained to the receptionist about my experince she was very apologetic and assured me the owner would be in touch. It has been 3 weeks and I have not heard a thing. Needless to say I will not waste any more money at A Relaxed You. read more

Do not go here for a pedicure. It wasnt worth 5 dollars. They have a sad choice of nail polishes. The foot spa that you soak your feet in is a cheap 10 dollar thing that you can buy at any walmart. They barely file your nails and do not give you any sort of foot massage (even though it says they do in their brochure) I could have better spent my $45 dollars getting 3 pedicures at a much better salon in Orland Park who has professional foot tubs and massage chairs. A Relaxed You's idea of a spa chair is a cut down office chair on a stacked up pressboard riser. The place was a complete dive. Paid $50 ( with tip) for a pedicure-HORRIBLE! It looked like I did it at home! No base or top coat like I get for $20 at the Asian salons. Skin on toes and feet are rough, not smooth as a baby bottom like at the $20 Asian joints. The Polish job was shotty. Not even covering my whole nail! I have purchased yoga packages at A Relaxed You many times over the last 12 years. While I do like that they offer yoga in my area, they change the schedule weekly and are constantly canceling classes at a moments notice or cancel the class completely off the schedule. I have puchased packages because of a certain day and time that they offer classes then they cancel them. You also have to use the package within 6 months even though they cancel classes all the time. This is a major reason I have stopped going there. read more

I've been going here for over a year for facials and I routinely go every 6-8 weeks depending on the season and how my skin is reacting. I schedule each facial with Dione. She is incredibly knowledgeable on skin care and is so gracious to share information with her clients. She makes every experience incredibly pleasant and I love all the advice that she gives me. She understands what products to use with my skin that will react to the topical Medicine I am on. Ive never had a painful facial or reaction from the products she uses. Recently she suggested for me to change my makeup and I am already seeing the difference it has made on my skin. Would highly recommend customized facials here.
