Feeling pretty discouraged at that point, I called the number--and was relieved to reach an actual person who listened with empathy, gathered the details, and relayed everything to Gary. Despite being at a family game, Gary came out that night, diagnosed the issue, and gave us guidance on how to keep our pipes from freezing overnight. Early the next morning, I received an update that the needed part had been found. Within an hour, a team arrived and repaired the system. Given the forecast--temperatures staying below freezing for the next 10 days, 10-20 inches of snow across the region, and nearly 200 million people under a winter storm warning--there could not have been a worse time to lose heat.
