Azalea City Nails - Gel manicure tier 3

Azalea City Nails

While the salon has a great atmosphere, I am unsatisfied with the quality of work. I got a standard…read moregel manicure at this salon. My nail tech was quick and on time. However, I do not know if I would bother coming back again due to a few reasons, but I would not try the same tech again. One, I noticed after the appointment that I had two cuts on separate cuticles from the tech trimming them back. Additionally, each of my cuticles were not given the same amount of attention. One particular finger stands out with the gap between the gel and my new growth being larger than the rest. I am aware that perhaps my nails grow unevenly, but I've gotten my nails done before and never had this issue so I think it's still worth noting. I also left the salon with unnoticed gel under my nail that I had to chisel off later. Lastly, at exactly the one week mark, the gel on one nail started lifting. That particularly upsets me because I'm worried about moisture and bacteria getting trapped so I had to remove the gel much sooner than anticipated. I work a desk job and genuinely don't do much with my hands so I am confident it wasn't anything I did. Overall, for $60, I expected better. I am honestly most disappointed because I was willing to support a salon with their values. Lastly, parking at the co-op is no longer free and hasn't been for at least a month. I wish their website would be updated.

Ugh. I really wanted to love this place . I've been on the hunt for a new nail salon since moving…read moreto the city from Chicago a few months ago. I really liked the vibe of the salon and the fact that they use non-toxic materials. They also appear to treat their staff very well. However, they are a bit pricy for a gel+builder manicure but I was willing to bite the bullet on the price if the work matched the sticker price. Unfortunately it has not. I got my manicure on Friday late afternoon and by Sunday afternoon several of my nails are already chipped. There's no reason a gel manicure should be chipping/fading after 48 hours. I guess my search will continue.

I was looking for a new nail place around the area! I came across QT Nails as I live less than 5…read moremin away. It seems like Sundays are appointments only, but I could call ahead of time and ask if they were available, and gladly took me in. The place could be a little cleaner and more modern, but other than that, I loved the way they did my nails, especially Trang. She was amazing! The other time I went to get my nails done from here, another woman did my nails. There were a few streaks, but not to the point where I was really bothered by it! I personally feel that there could be some minor renovations and improvements, but otherwise I think I found my new nail place and will be returning whenever I need to get my nails done!

I paid $125 for a nail set on 4/16, and less than 10 days later, a full nail popped completely off…read more For that price, I expect durability--not a set that barely lasts a week. Apparently, their standard is that a $125 set is only guaranteed for 5 days, which is ridiculous--and nowhere in the shop is that policy clearly posted. To make matters worse, when I went back, there was no accountability. No credit, no real solution--just a quick fix where the tech didn't even properly redo the nail and instead used Gel-X to stick it back on. It was obvious they didn't know how to recreate the original set. For the price, the quality, service, and professionalism did not match at all. Extremely disappointing experience. I won't be returning.
