It's dirty. Weird location with limited parking. I would not risk it again, hygiene and sanitation wise.

Best in class. Went for a manicure after breaking all my nails cooking Christmas dinner and Nancy made them look good as new. It's a pandemic. I haven't had a mani/pedi in 9 months and I have done my best but I was definitely embarrassed. Nancy and her team were very nonchalant, they were ready for my appointment when the time came, they were quick, efficient and professional. I really enjoyed my pedicure. The lady did an excellent job on my cuticles and got my nails shaped perfectly without speaking English!! Also, Nancy did my eyebrows and a freehand design on my nails for New Year's Eve with little input from me. Their COVID precautions are quite good. No one is allowed in the shop without an appointment, you wait outside. Three customers max at a time for a total of 6 people, and they all wear masks of course. They also have the plexiglass up for The manicure stations. I felt very safe and I was extremely pleased with their work! My nails look great, I didn't have to wait and they had both of my favorite nail polishes in stock. I guess I'm easy to please but this was a 10/10 for me. One thing to know is that they DO NOT do acrylic at all! I toyed with getting a full set given my broken nails and Nancy informed me they do not do acrylic. Not sure if they do gel + tips but no acrylic for sure. The shop is small and unassuming as previously pointed out but it is scrupulously clean. read more

Finally, a gel polish that actually lasts! A pedicure with a decent foot massage! And all of these things at a reasonable price! It's a smaller nail shop with three pedicure chairs and three nail techs. Nancy is really nice and seems to have a good rapport with her clients and takes the time to get to know new clients. New clients in this case being me. I had my eyebrows done, gel manicure and a regular pedicure. My nails and toes survived the beating I put on them with sand and chlorine in Jamaica so I'd say that's a win. The only drawbacks here are that it's a small shop. You can make an appointment and may still have to wait a bit because it seems she gets backed up quickly. You may not be able to just pop in and get your eyebrows done quickly because that gets backed up too. I know that because I tried lol. Seems like the best bet is to DEFINITELY make an appointment and still pack your patience. read more

Sisters Nancy and Kim offer cheap manicures and pedicures. However, these are the reasons that I do not recommend them. I won't be returning back to them. They spend a lot of time speaking to each other in their native language, but did not interact with me a lot during my service. 1. Their skill level is average at best, and they do not offer any nail extension services such as tips. Their design skills are basic at best. 2. They get upset if a customer declines gel services. I have gone several times and they constantly have asked me to upgrade to gel services. I always leave a generous tip of $15.00 for a $40.00 Mani/Pedi so I don't understand why they are constantly asking me to upgrade my services. 3. Their shop is very small, cramped and has very little air circulating. They can not comfortable accommodate more than two people at a time. 4. There is ongoing construction, and it takes a while to find somewhere to park. Most times, you have to park blocks away. Sometimes, it takes 15 minutes to find parking. In conclusion, Nancy and Kim are cheap but you are better off going somewhere else. read more

Nancy's is a small nail salon, pretty close to downtown silver spring. I stopped by after work for a pedicure and gel manicure. Everything was solidly average, but I had a couple issues. An older lady did my nails, not Nancy. First, as I was in the pedicure chair, the woman doing my nails stepped out and told me to wait for her. She didn't return for 20 minutes. While she was gone, Nancy made me turn off my massage chair because they "don't want people to use it too much." Umm, then don't leave me sitting there for so long? She was doing my pedicure and then she asked if I wanted paraffin wax--and she said it was an extra $7. That's way overpriced, and per their sign outside, the "warm pedicure with paraffin" was supposed to include it already. False advertising. And then my gel manicure was just mediocre. I asked for the same color for both my hands and feet. She showed me the bottles that matched, but the gel nail color turned out way different and I don't believe they were the same. The polish itself is ok, but it could be smoother. When I asked for her to fix a couple nails, she tried to squish out the polish with a towel. Ugh. Otherwise, it wasn't the cleanest or friendliest place. They also offer waxing services, but judging by the lack of sanitation, I wouldn't recommend anyone try that. Tl;dr -- Mediocre. There are better options. Edit: Less than twelve hours later, my gel manicure has faded from a peach color to a poop brown/yellow color. I will be requesting a monetary refund, and will be thoroughly unimpressed if one is not granted. Do not go here! read more

Nancy was super kind and accommodating to me, despite my last minute appointment. I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. A gel mani will run you only $25 here. Really happy with the results. This is a very unassuming shop to get your nails done. No frills at all. Pros Staff is pleasant and takes their time doing your nails. Plenty of colors to choose from. Fast and cheap. You get what you pay for. Every single one of my nails is flooded up to the cuticle, and when I asked her to clean the line at the cuticle she pretended to not understand me. The French she painted on was uneven and incomplete - again when I asked she pretended to not understand. The top clear coat was not applied evenly so it's bumpy and it's going to chip in a few days. The UV light only lasts for 30 seconds so you have to constantly keep track of how many times each hand gets blasted. These reviews saying she cares and goes above and beyond? I've had mixed results here. First off, on multiple occasions I've tried calling ahead to make appointments but it just rings and rings. The 2 times I've gotten manicures here were walk-ins. Nancy is nice and accommodating but the manicure itself was really inconsistent. The first gel manicure I received was fine and lasted about a week and a half. The design I asked for turned out quite cute. The second one was so shoddy I just can't bring myself to go back. I took pictures of the manicure after 2 days. I think because the polish ran up onto my cuticle, it peeled quite quickly, taking with it some of my nail. I don't know if it was a dodgy batch or what but needless to say, it really wasn't worth my money read more

Came to SS, MD for a conference and after that drive I needed also me relaxation. After looking at other Yelp reviews I was somewhat annoyed and disappointed that that so many of these salons near here have horrible reviews. Well except for Nancy So I called over and asked if they took walkins; she said they were busy but could take me in 30 minutes. GREAT! While I sat in the pedicure seat letting my feet soak I had a chance to read some reviews. Apparently Nancy is the technician you want. Imagine my surprise when I asked my technicians name and she said she was Nancy! I'm really being pampered. Now here's the grit. I've been to some real upscale places and some real gritty places. This one is a little unrefined but there are tool sterilizers present and being used. Before a last minute trip I wanted to get a manicure and pedicure. Nancy's is a 5 minute walk from my home so decided to give it a try. The salon is very small with three pedicure chairs and 4 manicure tables. I got lucky when I got there at 10:00 and was seated right quickly for my pedicure. Another worker, not Nancy, started with my toes. It was a decent pedicure but I mentioned that I had a callus I wanted removed and she acknowledged my request but didn't do more than the standard buffing - not sure what I paid for there. The scrub and lotion was nice but nothing over the top good.Taking one star because of the pedicure experience. The gel manicure was another story. Nancy did my manicure and did a fantastic job. Although I didn't really like the color I ended up with, she did an amazing job and took her time making sure my nails looked great. You could tell she was a bit rushed by someone else waiting to finish their manicure and yet she didn't mess up or rush through my gel service. Her phone didn't work when I called and she said that can happen sometimes but wrote down my number and told me to make an appointment next time to ensure I don't have to wait. It's such a convenient place to get your nails done. It's in the heart of silver spring near a couple of Thai restaurants. They have street parking and a public parking lot nearby. The place is small and not tidy but it's typical nail salon with TVs. The service is good, nail techs are friendly and did a good job. They kind of breakdown the price so you can get very basic service with decent price. I chose gel for My manicure and regular paint for my pedicure I want them to be the same color but it turned out slightly different. I don't mind because it was done well. Nancy's nail salon is a very affordable place to get your nails done without sacrificing quality. They are very accomodating. They were kind enough to take me in at 6:00 even though they generally don't take in reservations after 6pm. Nancy and her sister took care of me for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Both only amounting to $45 + tip of course. They pay very great attention to details when putting on your nail color. Also had good conversation with both of them. They also have a MASSIVE nail color (regular/gel) selection to choose from. You can even try it on your nails first if you're undecided as to which color would suit you best. Nancy wanted me to discuss my cooch grooming habits in front of three clients who there was no being discrete around with such cramped quarters. Embarrassing. When I first came in they were busy but the told me it would only be a 20 minute wait, I ended up waiting for an hour. Once I was finally seen, all I can say is that this was the messiest gel manicure I've ever received. I also noticed the tools they use to cut and file your nails are the same ones they used on previous clients and they're not sanitised. Once my nails were done I told the owner and the nail tech I was not going to pay full price for the manicure. I proceeded to tell her that they painted over my cuticle , on top of my skin , they were not the shape I wanted , and it was over all messy. They both acted like they didn't see anything wrong with the manicure. Then the owner said she had to paint overtop of my cuticles otherwise my cuticles would show.... the owner also said because of nail color I chose (neon yellow) it caused for the nail job to look messy. I've never heard that before. But if that was the case shouldn't you warn your customer that? Either way they did give me a discount and when I tipped the nail tech although she didn't deserve it , she was mad and tossed the tip. read more

First off I have to say WHY didn't I come to this place sooner. My usual nail tech recently took a sabbatical and I was not happy with her sub. I've seen the sign for Nancy's Nails for years and was just apprehensive about going. However one day a couple weeks ago while in the drive-thru of the bank I noticed the bright yellow sign and said I would check it out. Oh, I am so glad I did. I called Nancy's earlier in the week to make sure they took walk-ins and to ask what time would they take their last appointment. I was instructed to call before I came on that day. On the day of my planned visit I received a call from a woman I now know was Nancy, asking if I could come the next day. I informed her that if she could take me in about an hour I could see her then and she agreed. When I got there, I was her only appointment at the time. I'm not sure if it was due to the wind storm or just coincidence. In anycase, Nancy immediately set me up in a chair for my pedicure. I soaked for about 8 minutes before she got started. Not only was Nancy personable, but she was polite, engaging and not afraid to answer my questions with regards to other salons. I not only enjoyed the conversation, but I appreciated her honesty, attention and overall customer service. A trait that is not valued or upheld in most Asian salons. The shop is clean, bright and welcoming for a small storefront. And Nancy makes sure that all the utensils she uses are sterile and clean. I was reminded of my dentist office when she opened the pack of utensils she would be using on my feet. I also appreciated the fact that she did not do acrylic nails and told her she didn't have to apologize to ANYONE for not providing that service. As a small business owner myself it's important to be true to yourself and your beliefs. I really enjoyed the care she took with my feet along with the massage at the end. My feet felt pampered and soft and my toes had a nice shine to them. I also received a manicure as well. I am more than satisfied with the service I received from Nancy and I look forward to my next appointment. I've been looking for a consistent nail place since I moved to the area in October. I've tried at least 3 different places before Nancy's. Overall it was an okay experience. I have no complaints about my eyebrow service. My nail service, on the other hand... Cons: the space is very small and to me feels like it is not kept up. I went into the bathroom and there were no paper towels. Also, I got a gel manicure and the top of the gel manicure near my nail beds are consistently getting stuck in my hair and pulling strands of my hair out. I have gone to Nancy's Nails for six months but after today's experience I will never go back. First, my appointment was for noon but she decided to take a walk-in and bumped me up to 12:30. Okay. Then she tells me I had to wait for the parafin wax to heat up because the walk-in just had it used on her feet. Then in the middle of putting the parafin wax on my hands Nancy dropped the whole bag in my lap. My pants (and crotch) were covered in hot wax and the bottom third of my blouse was as well. Nancy said, "it was an accident" and that I can scrub the wax out at home. I took off the bags of wax and then she said "$40 please (which was $10s more than what I paid last month). I love this place. A friend told me about it several months ago but told me I had to make an appointment. After going once, I could see why you should make an appointment. The owner does a lot of the appointments herself. The good thing about making an appointment is the owner is very accommodating about the time. Once, she let me make an appointment for 7:30 am and I have never had to wait when I had an appointment. My gel manicure usually last 2 weeks which is long for me. My nails are generally so brittle that the polish will chip after a week. She also does an amazing pedicure and is very reasonably priced. After going there one time and having a great manicure/pedicure experience I decided to try their waxing service. I got a full Brazilian for $30! Nancy nails had good reviews. We called about an hour ahead of time for two pedicures. She let us make an appointment for 2:45. We walked down to the building and initially they were closed and the sign read closed. We knocked and she came to door an allowed us to come in. We had to wait since only two people were working and there were two clients finishing up. But she wasn't rude about it. They had lots of walk in ppl come in while I was here but only allowed the appointments to stay. She books appointments without any regard to actual timing so be prepared. But this day could be the exception since she was calling in ppl to work who weren't there and said she had to work though her lunch. The area is small but adequate. Therehas three nail stations and three pedicure stations with no where to sit and wait. She offered us waters as well. Free wifi with codes taped on the wall. It seems that they do waxing as well. Although I didn't need it, she informed that there is a $5-$10 charge for callused feet or thick hard toenails. I have never heard of nail shops charging extra for that. (See pic) Forgot my sandals. They don't offer the typical free pair but instead charges $2 for the same 50cent flip flops. So don't forget to bring your own. I will be returning to try the manicure since my normal Mimosa Spa has become too crowded and too much about getting you in and out to actually do a decent pedicure without attitude. read more

I found this place on Yelp and because of the reviews decided to give them a call. I had an important engagement in about a week and needed my nails done bad. I called in the morning and got a lunch appointment. I got my nails done on April 5th!!! I meant to post earlier about the phenomenal job that Nancy did on my nails. When I arrived, i was having a bad gel job removed. I explained to her that i didn't understand why it looked like that and that i needed a gel job that would last a month. Now it hasn't been a month but almost 3 weeks. The nails have grown out but the gel still looks awesome to me. Nancy took her time and did a spectacular job. I will definitely be going back and will be sure to recommend her by name. She was very helpful even with identifying great lunch options in the area. Wonderful lady. I just got my very first pedicure at Nancy's and I'm very happy with the entire experience. It was tough trying to find a good nail salon in the area and I decided to check Nancy's out. I walked in without an appointment and it wasn't very busy at the time (2:30ishpm). The location is a bit snug but there is also a downstairs area as well. The main salon I believe is on the top floor. I was asked what I Service I needed and was immediately attended to. The lady asked me to pick a color and then began to prep the seat for my pedicure. There isn't a huge selection of Essie polish but I found a great burnt orange that looks fantastic on. The lady was very attentive and thorough. They use brand new tools every time and I honestly felt like I was getting a pedicure from my mom. The lady was so sweet and she went the extra mile to make sure I was okay with everything. My pedicure was $20 and the service was EXCELLENT. If she upgrades the place a bit this location would be super popular. I would highly recommend. read more
