    If you're looking for a company that damages almost all of your boxes, breaks your furniture, and under quotes by 10 grand than look no further. I called for an estimate and spoke with Will. We walked through every single room and discussed every piece of furniture and that we would have probably around 75 boxes to which he said "yeah that sounds about right for a 3 bedroom house" . I was told it would be about 700 something cubic feet and about 10k for the move. I figured that wasn't too bad since it was only 3k more than what it would have been if I had moved myself. So I figured I'd save me some stress...I put down the 3,000 something deposit and gave them my move date, told them it may change pending how selling the house goes. Five days before the move the date changed. I let the moving company know as soon as I did. They said they charge a 500 inconvenience fee for a date change less than a week notice. Which I get that. It was eventually waived due pricing issue on moving day but we will discuss that in a moment. With the estimate of 10k I figured since it was just that, an estimate, that it would probably be 2-3k more. Moving day arrives and the mover comes and after looking at the area says it'll be 1500 cubic sq ft not 700 (so more than double). Good thing he came with a 1600 cubic sq ft truck. So the new total was 21k...after being quoted originally 10k. They did waive the 500 inconvenience fee due to the 11,000 up in price. They did want more money than originally planned at pick up since the price went up but I planned for about 5800 at pick up not 12,000. They did give me the option to do 5800 and then the rest of the amount when the house sold 6 days later. Which for payment, they allow you to use a credit card for the deposit but just know for pick up and drop off you have to do cash, check, money order, cash app, Zelle, or a wire. Again, how can you quote for a living and under quote THAT badly. During the moving, one of the movers also tried to use one of my husband's tools to break down a piece of furniture without even asking. You would think for that much money out of pocket they would use their own tools. To top it off they used our bathroom, which I was fine with. What I wasn't fine with was the urine that was left all over the toilet...A week after they picked up our stuff I got an email saying the new address isn't semi truck accessible. And now there is a shuttle service fee of 1500 or we could meet them in a large parking lot and get our things ourselves. Which they knew the address from the beginning, why was this not mentioned at booking. They did waive 500 off the shuttle fee for inconvenience. A shuttle fee to move things from a semi truck to a uhaul when our stuff was originally picked up in Alaska in a uhaul is ridiculous. There Is more concerning drop off but I am limited to the amount I can write on here. Pros They took off $1,000 of inconvenience fees for the shit show. They took off the long carry and stairs fee Cons Hidden fees Passive aggressive attitude from Rita Biggest things to know They are not BBB accredited They only accept credit cards for the deposit not for pick up or drop off They have fees for inconvenience on changes that occur in less than 7 business days They have a $1500 shuttle service fee if drop off is not semi truck accessible They have a fee for anything carried over 75 ft They have a fee if they have to go up stairs I personally wouldn't recommend

    I'm writing this review to help others avoid the incredibly frustrating and expensive experience I had with this moving company. Do not use any mover that charges by cubic feet. It's an unreliable and easily manipulated pricing model. Unlike weight-based pricing (which is objective and verifiable), cubic footage is subjective and impossible to measure accurately once a truck is packed. This company used that to their advantage -- at my expense. My initial quote was $8,000. Once the truck was fully loaded, the price suddenly jumped to over $15,000 -- nearly double. Despite being on-site during the entire process, I had to question them aggressively during unloading to discover that they were charging me for truck space that wasn't even used. The company ultimately admitted to overcharging me for unused space and agreed to refund the difference. Then, they reversed course and refused to issue the refund, ignoring all further communication. On top of this, I was also explicitly told by Will Reid via email prior to signing an agreement that I would not be charged for packing materials. Yet I was billed nearly $1,000 for them on the final invoice -- a clear contradiction of what was promised. Throughout this ordeal, Rita (the only person who works in the front apparently) stopped responding entirely -- ignoring all my emails and texts, and sending every phone call straight to voicemail. It became clear that they were avoiding any accountability. I had no choice but to file a claim through their internal process, which led nowhere. Because the contract prohibits customers from suing them directly, I escalated to arbitration -- where I was awarded over $2,000 in overcharges. That judgment was issued more than 45 days ago, and the company continues to ignore all efforts to collect the amount I'm owed. I am now working with legal counsel and preparing to file a court case in Charlotte to enforce the award. This move turned into a financial and emotional nightmare. I urge anyone considering this company -- or any mover that charges by volume -- to think twice. Only choose a company that charges by weight, where pricing is objective and cannot be manipulated. What should have been a straightforward relocation turned into a situation that felt deceptive and predatory. I am sickened reading all of the reviews with people who had similar experiences to my own. I urge anyone who has gone through this to file a complaint through FMCSA as well to hold this company accountable.

The grounds are clean inside and out. I never have issues getting into the building and it's never too busy or crowded when I need to get in and out for work events. The halls are well lit and there's maps right off the elevators to help me navigate in this maze of a building. The four stars is mainly because there's no trash dumpster on site and that makes things a little more difficult. Having to search around for somewhere to properly throw something away, when normally there are trash cans readily available in most places. Overall, a great storage company!

This place is a total scam and in less than year, I went from paying ~$80 a month to ~$198 a month. They say they "negotiate" monthly rent but it brings the cost down barely $15-20 a month. I was told if I scheduled a move out for a specific date, I needed to pay the monthly rent up front and for the 15+ days I wouldn't be in the unit, I would get that retroactively reimbursed. Called to confirm and they said that wasn't true, and it doesn't say that in the lease. Why was I told incorrect information over the phone then? A huge scam considering somone will likely move into that unit as soon as I move out so they will be getting double rent for a period of 15 days. I would rather sell all of my stuff next time instead of rent with Extra Space. Updating RE comment below from the business manager: it's clear they are only posting comments to "call this number" to make it look like they're trying to rectify the situation, when in reality this number takes me to the same customer service person that gave me the issue in the first place. Maybe send me a more accurate phone number if you're going to comment and make it look like you're trying to remedy the situation.

I came into this location in immediate need of a storage unit, and having never had to secure one before, I had A LOT of questions. I also had a few criteria I really wanted for the location of my unit - I wanted to be as close to the security cameras and elevator entrance as possible, since I or my other teammates would sometimes have to come to the unit alone or late at night. Danielle patiently searched each floor in the computer to find units that fit my size specs, along with these other two main criteria, and found a few options. We went and looked at each one, and looked at the location in reference to the cameras for each unit. We found the right one and placed it on hold until the 1st of the month (today), so we could start the rental on a full month. On the 1st, I went back in and found that my needs had changed. Even though this caused her to do a little more work to edit the info in the computer, she was still super helpful and upbeat. After a little while, we found the perfect, bigger unit and got it keyed and ready to go! I am so thrilled to finally be able to move this stuff out of my home into a space where it can be organized and well kept. I really like that there are trashcans on each floor, easily accessible, and bathrooms on 2 levels as well. The office at this account is clean, welcoming and they even make popcorn on the weekends for their customers! So far, I'm really loving my experience with Morningstar!!
