Not good. Little to no customer service. The big fella that works in the back acts like he doesn't want to even be there. A huge thank you for wasting over an hour of drive time just to even go see you big guy and sorry about your door. to be honest you didn't look all that busy, I'm sure you could have got the door for me.. then again you didn't even want to explain what was wrong with my pc. I would give a 0 start if I could or negative. DO NOT go here. I came to APlus to fix my macbook pro last November, everything else was fine except the display wouldn't turn on, it worked with external display just fine. I was too mad to comment without curse word then, so I waited two months to calm myself down. In November, after over a month of "evaluation", I still didn't hear a word from APlus. I called several times and never got answered, so I decided to go to the store to check on my laptop. I shouldn't have waited that long. They spent a long time in the back searching for my laptop, and they came out and told me that they have recycled my laptop. Yes, RECYCLED!!! They claimed that I told them to do so???? The fact is I never heard a word from them, no quotes, no evaluation on the parts that need to be fixed, no timeline, NOTHING. I went to the recycle site myself and digged out my laptop from trash. It was disassembled into many parts, and some core pieces were taken out (see picture). I was in shock that a business could do something like that. They put the parts together, and put back the missing pieces (Don't know what parts they swapped, and don't know if they were still factory made). Nothing was fixed. They just threw my laptop into trash. They were not apologetic AT ALL, and made it look like that I did all of that. I saw there is another comment reporting that Aplus recycled the device without any approval (and probably sold the parts that were in good shape). DO NOT come here. I walked all around Bellevue trying to find an Ethernet cord when I stumbled upon this place. When I walked in the guy working was instantly super friendly, I told him I was looking for an Ethernet cord and how I had been walking around for an hour plus looking for one and he said that they don't sell them. But then he had went in to the back and grabbed one and brought it out and told me I could just have it. My point of contact was Darren, Owner of A Plus. He was phenomenal throughout the whole process. I understand exactly why this place has such consistently great reviews- take a look at their reviews on their page. Darren took the the time in understanding my computer issue, from beginning to end. This was important to me because it reflected his accuracy in finding the best solutions. In addition to my broken macair, I had sentimental photos that was a lost cause in recovering from the start but he tackled alternate ways in trying to restore my photos with my camera SD card. The end result- my computer was fully restored (even better/faster than before) and about 50 photos were restored. The pricing was excellent (I had other places to compare it to) and the photos were complimentary. That was unexpected and so appreciated, given the nature of how important they were to me. Darren was extremely intuitive, honest, and kept in great contact/follow up despite having (I'm sure) a lot of customers. Absolutely the best service I have ever had. I had issues with my Macbook Pro, the screen wouldnt turn on. I contacted Computer Tech at roughly 11am, they got back to me with a detailed explanation of what the problem might be and the services they provide and their business model without paying a penny. At 1 I dropped off my computer and chose their rush service, which is just 50$, at 2:30 i had my computer back all fixed and working. If you want to pay way too much then get your computer back in worse shape than it was when you brought it, then go here. I took in 4 month old computer A to simply have them transfer data to brand new computer B. First danger: you sign off on a price list, not an estimate. They called to say it will be 2 1/2 hours of work and I can have it in 5 days. So another $50.00 for "rush". Really? Then, I picked up both PCs, went home and computer A is dead. I bring it back at 11am the next morning and they need to diagnose it all night. Never heard from them the next day, so I call to find out the guy, David, who 'helped' me is out for 2 days so a new guy, Leon, is trying to fix it. New guy has no idea of the history and that I brought it back to fix! So he's talking about "repairing Windows 8", which might have some corruption. Ridiculous. David had taken the hard drive out to transfer and he didn't put humpty dumpty back together again. I ran there as fast as I could, grabbed my now-broken machine and took it elsewhere for a clean wipe of the mess they made. So I had to pay someone else THEN transfer back all data from computer B to computer A. The worst thing: they didn't offer to refund, or even give me the $50.00 rush money back...nothing! So, I'm only writing this review, because I understand "stuff happens" but it's the way a small business works out of the problem that counts. Nothing. The second guy "felt badly" and he gave me no confidence he could even fix it. The funniest (saddest) part of this whole thing. When I left the first time with both machines, they begged me to put a positive comment on their website. They should spend more time on quality control and customer service. read more

The best prices and awesome customer service from a capable team. Before this my go-to repair shop was ebits, and this shop is far better. There's a $50 diagnostic fee at ebits, and at A plus they'll diagnose for free. The service was also much more speedy, attentive, and customer focused at this shop. I brought my 2015 macbook pro (with retina screen) in because I dropped it cracked the screen. A Plus gave me a quote that came to about half as much as their competitors. To reduce the price of the repair we decided to replace my cracked screen with a used one that would function perfectly, but would have light cosmetic scratches on the aluminum (but not the retina screen). I was concerned about the extent of the scratches, but David was very communicative and even sent me the Ebay listings he was choosing from. We spoke together and decided on the best option for the most affordable price point -- he was very open and made the process totally transparent, which was a refreshing break from how other shops operate. I was trying to decide on the best shipping option (to see if it was worth it to get expedited shipping) and David even offered to cover the cost difference for expedited shipping if it arrived outside a certain date window -- talk about going above and beyond for the customer!! Unfortunately, after they completed the repairs my computer had some unrelated issues. The team at A plus reacted perfectly, trying to help me resolve the problem with creative solutions. They really care about offering the best experience to the consumer, even when they could have made more money ignoring my unfortunate situation. Having been screwed over by other repair shops in the past, that meant alot. I managed to completely strip the head of a screw in my laptop, and I wasn't able to get it out. Even worse, I had put my laptop back together without connecting the keyboard properly, so I wasn't able to turn it on without removing that screw. I tried the rubber band method and super glue-ing a screwdriver to the hole and had no luck. I came in on a Sunday afternoon, and the guy working there helped cut into the screw for me so he could get it out. He gave me a replacement screw, and then he didn't charge me anything! I didn't get his name, but I'm super grateful that he took time out of his busy afternoon to help me get the screw out. Will definitely be back here if I have any other computer needs. read more

A Plus has handled a couple of issues for me, both with great customer service and excellent technical outcomes. I don't understand the bad reviews about customer service because that has not been my experience in the least. My first, and quickest, exposure to them was when I had them fix a simple hard drive issue on an old (2009) Mac Pro. Cameron handled the intake professionally and in a friendly manner. I did pay for rush service and they delivered quickly. But the most amazing experience I had was when I decided to switch back to Windows and to have A Plus build me a new PC. I worked with technician Noah Schmidlin throughout the entire build. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to tell you that Noah is an outstanding technician, but more than that he is friendly and professional. I'm a middle-aged woman with limited technical knowledge (although probably more than most of my ilk, having worked in e-commerce for some years), and Noah always treated me completely professionally and maturely. There was no condescension, no excuses, and I was updated at all times. He helped me put together a parts list, then had the machine built in a matter of days. It then took a bit longer due to my large data transfer (RAW image files), and we re-jiggered the hard drive strategy and back-ups a bit. Throughout it all Noah was excellent. He was available for me any time I had questions, including after I took delivery and needed help with my email account settings. I can't recommend him and A Plus enough. read more

Just my luck: my HP laptop was a month out of warranty when my shift key stopped working. I called several local repair shops and the tech on the phone at A-plus was friendly and helpful. I decided to bring the unit over for a free inspection. No sooner than I had put the laptop on the counter and showed the keyboard issue, than the tech had the key itself lifted and looking inside. I was in quick need of a hard drive swap and these guys really helped me out. They explained how the change-out would occur, what would need to happen inside the case, and what the results would be. I had some trouble with Windows 8.1: My Dell Inspiron wouldn't boot completely until I turned it off and back on. Sick of this, I brought my six-month-old laptop here. They took it in and told me it would be a week. I called back after a week on a Monday, and they told me it would be a bit longer and would call back tomorrow, which they didn't. I called again that Wednesday, and was told they were testing this and that and that it would be a while. Each time I spoke with one of their reps, it was a different person. I don't think any one person was working on my computer. On Thursday, a week and a half after I brought it in, I was told that they couldn't get Windows 8.1 to run without that problem and had to do a factory restore and it would cost an hour's labor or $75. Being semi-computer literate and having done a factory reset before, I declined (not to mention I had some housekeeping to do with some files anyways and didn't need anybody moving stuff around). Five minutes later, the same guy called back and offered to do it for free. He was very adamant, which put me on guard. He listed all these things he wanted to try (which apparently hadn't been done in the week+ it had been in the shop). I asked for some sort of guarantee or email receipt that it would indeed be free, so I had some sort of proof when I picked up my machine. The technician instantly withdrew the offer and started to sound offended. Weird. I just picked up my laptop and it booted fine. Did the tech guy actually fix it for free without my permission or will the problem resurface? I don't know, but that whole interaction about it being free was a bit bizarre. That and the lack of a concrete solution beyond what I can do at home puts me off. The free diagnostic was nice though, if time-consuming. read more

A week later the virus returned and I took it back to them, which they immediately took care of for me. There's nothing good about having your hard drive fail, but when it does happen you just want somebody to help you. ANYBODY. A Plus Computer Tech was the first place I called, primarily because they were a few blocks away. David answered the phone and told me he could look at my laptop immediately if I came in. Sure enough, when I walked in the door he looked at it right away and gave me an initial diagnostic assessment (for free) as well as an idea of the time/cost/work to fix it. I left it there and a few hours later got a phone call from David explaining the issue and my options. I needed a new hard drive and, after choosing from the replacement options he gave me, he searched the area for one to buy locally, but it turned out to be a special order. A few days later David contacted me to let me know the shipment had been delievered and he had installed the new drive. He also ghosted the image from my old one, recovering all of my data. Bonus :) If it weren't for the shipping time, my laptop would have been fixed in one day. 4 Stars for service and the new speedy functionality of my computer. It took them about a week, however I was not in a hurry here so I didn't rate for time. The lost star was for the price. They diagnosed "minor malware. bloatware" and removed the malicious items. They also uninstalled some crap that best buy put on the computer last year without my permission which was causing blue screens of death. For this they charged me 123 dollars (after tax), which I thought was steep. A computer repair shop in Capital Hill advertises a virus find and fix for a 69.99 flat rate, they have good reviews as well. read more
