Oddly, the tech charged us for new copper while keeping the copper sections he removed, saying he was adding it to their collection. I get not being able to reuse the sections connected to the old valves but there was some that could have been reused, or left for our recycling. Not a huge deal, just seemed odd that he mentioned keeping it for their future use. We'll still use Letts and recommend them to friends. They're very prompt. The work is done well. And the job sites are left clean.

Somehow it was both the perfect size and strength to get exactly jammed in the garbage dispoal. With family and friends coming over and a lot of activity in the kitchen, this was a big problem. We called around to multiple plumbers and found Stefano recommended by another family with a garbage disposal issue. He was one of few plumbers who got back to us promptly and who did not charge an extreme "out of hours" markup for coming out on a holiday. When he tackled the blockage, he ended up disassembling the garbage disposal but was able to both remove the cup and replace a gasket that had gotten damaged in the process of me trying to unjam the disposal. Not only that, Stefano was upbeat and did a great job of entertaining our 2 year old who was watching on with wide eyes. We subsequently had our line hydro-jetted by another company who provided a quote to repair a partially collapsed section of the line. The quote was high enough to warrant two other quotes, one of which was Advanced Trenchless (AT). I decided to choose AT for several reasons: first, they provided the Goldilocks quote that was not too high but not questionably low like the third quote; second, they narrowed the scope to just the collapsed part, not the whole section of crawl space behind it as the first one quoted; and lastly, I got a call from Ryan, one of the owners, who explained the unknowns and also confirmed that a permit was required, which the last quote omitted. Also, he was willing to accommodate my schedule after the holidays. As others here have noted, AT's team are true professionals. They showed up first thing in the morning, were prepared, polite and zeroed in on the exact location that needed to be addressed. I hovered some to try to understand the mysteries of outdoor plumbing, learning that work done on a past remodel was not done properly. The fix was quicker than I was expecting. Everything went smoothly, including the Central San inspection, before they closed up the space around the new pipe and cleanout, leaving everything tidy, even putting back a section of shrub that needed to be moved.
