We originally hadn't planned on hiring a dance instructor for our first dance. We had already chosen our song and thought we could learn the choreography from YouTube. It didn't take long to realize that dancing wasn't either of our strengths, and we needed a little more guidance than we had anticipated. Choosing Kim was one of the best last-minute decisions we made. She created a routine that felt natural, fit our abilities, and made us look far more experienced than we ever imagined possible. Thanks to her patient instruction and encouragement, we were even able to confidently perform both a dip and a lift safely on our wedding day. Kim made every lesson fun, enjoyable, and stress-free, and she gave us the confidence to truly enjoy our first dance instead of worrying about it. Every lesson was impactful and efficient. We only needed three minutes to put together our 2 and half minute dance. If you're considering dance lessons for your wedding, we can't recommend Kim highly enough. Whether you're an experienced dancer or have two left feet like we did, she'll help you create a beautiful first dance that you'll be proud to share with your family and friends. She truly will not disappoint. read more

My fiance (now wife) and I came into our dance lessons with zero experience and I mean a ZERO. but that didn't matter one bit to Kim. From day one, she made us feel completely comfortable and confident. She helped us craft a unique first dance that felt so personal and special, and somehow turned two total beginners into something close to graceful on the dance floor. Kim is an amazing teacher, patient, passionate, and incredibly talented at what she does. She truly worked miracles with us and made the entire process fun and memorable. Our first dance ended up being one of our favorite parts of the wedding, and that's entirely thanks to her. We'll never forget Kim!!she'll always be a part of our big day. I highly highlyyy recommend her more to any couple looking to make their first dance unforgettable. Totally worth it! Thank you Kim! read more

Kim was such a joy to work with! My husband had never taken a dance class before, and neither of us had any experience with partner dancing, so it was a completely new experience for us. We knew we wanted a choreographed first dance, and Kim made the entire process feel comfortable, fun, and approachable. She created a beautiful dance to our song that flowed naturally and included special moments that made it feel uniquely ours. She was incredibly collaborative, always making sure we felt comfortable with each move and explaining everything in a way that was easy for non-dancers to understand. We did five 45-minute lessons with her, which was the perfect amount of time to learn and feel confident in our dance. Her studio was clean, private, and welcoming, and we always looked forward to our lessons. We loved how our dance turned out, and the experience became such a special part of our wedding journey. We're so grateful Kim was a part of it and would highly recommend her to any couple looking for a wedding dance choreographer! read more

We had such a great experience with Kim at A Perfect Wedding! She was super professional, patient, and trustworthy from start to finish. We came in with zero dance experience and were honestly a little nervous, but Kim made everything feel easy and fun. She took the time to help us come up with a unique, custom wedding dance, and she never rushed us. Her studio is really nice and professional, which made the whole process even more comfortable. If you're looking for someone who can make learning to dance feel simple--even for total beginners I'd highly recommend Kim. She made the experience stress-free and something we'll always remember! read more

We had 8 sessions with Kim and had so much fun doing this leading up to our wedding. We had never taken dance classes and she tailored our dance to suit us perfectly. She challenged us with lifts and dips and turns and beautiful choreography throughout. I was impressed during every class with her talent and teaching. Surprising our guests with our dance during our reception was the highlight of the night for us. We loved it and are so glad we did this and chose Kim! Also she was so flexible with our crazy schedules and her home studio was perfect for us! If you're not sure you should do this, definitely don't question it further. It'll be worth it. You'll get an epic product and every lesson is like a little date night for the two of you. read more

Kim is pure magic. THE wedding dance whisperer. FIVE STARS FIVE STARS!! We hired Kim from A Perfect Wedding Dance--and let me tell you, she didn't just teach us how to dance. She created art with us. She made our first and second dances truly unforgettable moments that people still talk about. For our destination wedding in Cancun, we reached out to her literally 10 days before flying out (yes, we were those people). And Kim? She said let's go. We met with her practically every day before the trip. She created a completely custom dance from scratch, tailored to our personalities, abilities, and music choice--and somehow made us look like pros on the big day. Waltz-inspired, romantic, elegant--it was chef's kiss. Our guests were floored. But it wasn't just the dance. Kim sees you. She immediately assessed where my fiancé and I were at and met us with so much grace, creativity, and encouragement. She made us feel like stars and like friends at the same time. Saying goodbye after the wedding actually made us sad--it felt like we were parting with family. Luckily, we had a grand 400-person reception to prepare for with a completely different dress to consider, and the moment we knew we'd need a second dance, we reached back out. This time, it was a more upbeat, swing-inspired routine--still custom, still fabulous. Because Kim already knew how we moved, we jumped right in. And even though we only started rehearsing a few weeks before the big event (again, those people ), she pulled it off seamlessly. She even built in lifts (my husband lifts weights, so we had some fun there ), and choreographed something that was so us. Kim is a genius at what she does. She's not just creative--she's thorough, compassionate, and tailors every session to how you and your partner learn. She's thoughtful with both leads and follows, and strategizes ways to help you remember moves more easily. Also, she's got this superpower where she can read your face and know if something's off before you even say it. Oops. Working with her was always a blast. She's inspiring, imaginative, and deeply invested in her couples. She truly became one of our favorite parts of the wedding journey--and trust me, this won't be the last she sees of us. We definitely plan to take more lessons. I would recommend Kim to everyone. Even if you're out of state--fly in. Zoom in. Teleport. Whatever it takes. She's that good. SHE'S A DIAMOND!! The other diamond you need to buy when getting married to be honest. ;) read more

My husband and I heard about Kim through a coworker that was taking dance lessons with her for their wedding. I went on Yelp and was checking on reviews and on a whim I emailed Kim to inquire about lessons. Our wedding was less than a week so my husband and I booked for 3 classes because we were on a time crunch. Kim was so quick to get back to us. From my inquiry, she emailed us back in 30 minutes to tell us about pricing and answer any questions. When we met with her in her private dance studio, the first thing i noticed off the back was her sweet personality. Kim makes you feel relaxed and made me want to dance! My husband and I have 2 left feet so she made us feel comfortable to dance. She made us laugh when we messed up on a number or dance step. She would show us how to do the dance moves properly and let us redo it countless of times until we were comfortable with moving forward. The other thing I like about Kim is she has props. She taught us proper body mechanics with a hula hoop and even put on a fluffy skirt to mimic my dress so we could see how it would be to dance with a dress on. Props are always a plus! She really made it feel like the real deal as much as possible and we are thankful for that! Kim is also great with communication. She replies to emails quickly. On one of days for our dance lessons my husband wasn't feeling good so we had to last minute reschedule our appointment and she accommodated us on such a short notice. We also told Kim that we wanted to change one of the dance moves and she was willing to work with us and wanted us to feel comfortable with the dance. She never pressures you to do something you don't want to do. She gives positive feedback and feedback on where there could be improvement. Thank you Kim for working with my husband and I. We had such a fun and wonderful time working with you. Our first dance came out so beautifully! I highly recommend to book with Kim for dance lessons for your first dance. You won't regret it! read more

Kim is an amazing dance instructor! This was our first time doing any dancing. And take it from me, between the two of us. We have 4 left feet. So we were mightily impressed that we could come out with any dance routine but the one that Kim gave us was truly magical! kim was excellent. she was a great teacher. very nice and professional. i would highly recommend her!!!

I found Kim on Google search along with other choreographers, and I needed to see them all to make a choice. Once we had first intro class with Kim, we no longer needed to see anyone. She's a professional with a lot of experience, who knows what she's doing. She created an amazing dance for us, I took a bit part in it, which I'm very proud of. We used 3 different songs and they blended very cool and dramatic! Exactly how I wanted. She was also very VERY patient with my second half, cause for men doing dance lessons... let's just say it's not the activity they'd pick we had a blast at our wedding, and all guests were super impressed with our dance! After all my husband loved it too and was very grateful we did it! I need another wedding or other event now to come back and create something else with Kim! She's amazing and will make your wedding dance dream come true! Thank you so so much, Kim, for all your knowledge, patience and creativity! read more

Kim is an amazing instructor and she will put together a routine that will go with whatever music you and your significant other choose. The end result is something so original and fun that it is sure to entertain all of your wedding guests! Kim makes the process incredibly fun too, as she is enthusiastic and detail oriented. For my wife and I, she put together a dance for the song "Cough Syrup" by Young The Giant, which is one of our favorite songs but is also a bit long. We were able to incorporate several different dance styles into one and the end result was so fun! At the end, Kim also coached on how to add a little flair to my walk down the aisle! Take two people with two left feet each and have them do a choreographed dance in front of 140 of their closest friends and family. Sounds like a disaster, right? Not if you hire Kim to teach you! Kim worked a true miracle with me and my husband. I knew that I wanted a formal choreographed dance even if I embarrassed the two of us on our most important day. From our first meeting with Kim, she put us at ease and made the entire experience fun. She was so patient with us every class and took the time to record our lessons for us so we would have videos to take home and practice. One hour sessions go by quickly so practice at home is a MUST. We probably didn't practice as much as we should have, but she made us feel accountable. So even on our lazy days, my hubs and I felt like we needed to get off the couch and practice because we didn't want to disappoint Kim at our next lesson. She pivoted when needed when we couldn't get a move right and gave us modifications to make complex moves doable for us. In the end, we were shocked that we had learned a beautiful dance that we were actually able to pull off on our wedding day. If she could teach us how to dance, she can teach anyone. We got married nearly two months ago, and we still do our dance at least once a week because we do not ever want to forget it. (In fact, we probably dance it better now than we did on our wedding day.) We booked Kim for 6 lessons. That was enough to get these two horrible dancers to an acceptable place. We're we perfect? NO...but we were 1000 times better than when we started. (At the very least, we have some amazing wedding dance photos!) read more

Kim is a patient, creative, experienced, talented, and professional dance instructor. She was able to customize our dance to suit our experience levels and personalities. Each move in our first dance was carefully chosen to fit what the lyrics of our song was expressing. Even if it was a song she had choreographed before, Kim made it our own. We did 3, 45 minute lessons and had a fairly long song, Kim was fantastic and gave us several options for each step of our dance so that it was something that we were both comfortable with. She also sent us videos at the end of each lesson so that we were able to practice. With our regular work and Kim's guidance, our first dance was perfect! Many of our guests commented on it and we could tell that Kim looks for "picture moments" in the choreography, which I loved as well! read more

We highly recommend Kim and a Perfect Wedding Dance!! While wedding planning, we received lots of advice from people saying that they wish they had practiced their first dance prior to the wedding and/or taken dance lessons. My husband and I are NOT dancers, so we decided to look into dance lessons. We booked a consultation with Kim after reading great reviews online and after we met with her we knew we wanted to book lessons. We booked four lessons, but I believe six lessons would have perfected our dance. Kim is super helpful and knows how to make two people who aren't comfortable dancing feel comfortable enough to dance together and in front of their guests. She takes into consideration what you want your dance to look and feel like, what your venue is like, where your guests will be watching you, what your song is, everything! During the lesson, Kim records you so you can watch at home. We made sure to practice our dance in between lessons so we were ready to progress to the next step in our dance. By the time our fourth lesson came around, we had everything but the end complete. We definitely could have done another lesson or two, but Kim worked with our timeline great! We practiced every night for two weeks before the wedding day. When the wedding day came around we sneaked away from our guests and did a quick run through. When it was time to dance we weren't nervous at all and knew just what we needed to do! Our first dance was a huge highlight of our wedding and our guests loved it! Taking dance lessons was also one of the biggest highlights of the wedding planning process. Wedding planning can be stressful at times, but we always looked forward to our dance lessons. Thank you Kim, for helping make our day so special!!! read more

Kim was a godsend. It was the week of our wedding and we had no plan or clue as to what we were doing. All we needed to provide was a song and she did the rest and it didn't matter that my wife and I both have two left feet. In a short amount of time we were able to learn an entire choreographed dance. Kim has a great personality, a passion for her craft, the patience of a saint. Would highly, highly recommend. read more

I can't say enough good things about Kim's services at A Perfect Wedding Dance. My now-husband and I wanted to take some dance lessons and do a choreographed dance for our wedding. The atmosphere at her studio is incredible. Kim is incredibly talented and makes each of her students feel capable of dancing beyond their self-perceived capability, no matter the experience or skill set people walk in with. She cultivates a warm, friendly and fun atmosphere that it's impossible not to have a good time. Let me tell you about our wedding dance. We worked with Kim from walking in the door unable to pick a song all the way to dropping our guests' jaws on the dance floor 6 months later. She choreographed a beautiful, fun, storytelling, thoughtful routine that was outstanding! Everyone at the wedding said it was the highlight of the night, and I can tell you that this dance is both of our most treasured memory of our wedding. And that was all because of Kim, her time, energy, effort, and unwavering belief in us from start to finish. When I realized that the bustle of my dress had broken moments before our grand entrance, I was immediately so grateful to Kim for preparing me for moments like these. For our last few lessons, she had me wear not one but two skirted "dress-like" slips on top of one another for a dress rehearsal, and we figured out how to dance with a weighted and lengthy dress scenario. This extra preparation provided me with the best possible training for dancing at my wedding. I fell in love with Kim from the start and ended up squeezing in a last-minute lesson with my father for our own wedding dance (also a hit)! It was another fantastic moment at the wedding. Yes, dance lessons are expensive, and it can be stressful making in the time when you first start with the time and financial demands of wedding planning. Still, the combination of exercise, social connection, concentration and joy of movement became a safe haven for us both to release the stress, connect on a level beyond the eye, and ultimately became one of the "escapes" we both looked forward to every week for the months leading up to our big day. Kim made us feel like family, so we always looked forward to days in which we would see her and left with a smile on our faces and excitement for the next lesson to come. There was a sadness we both experienced when our last lesson came to an end. Kim helped us beyond the dance floor. She brought us closer together, and reminded us of the perseverance we both had inside, the love we had for one another, and the special uniqueness our relationship had compared to most. It may sound cliche, but after a year of stress, financial hardship, and discouragement with the wedding and planning during and post-COVID, she reminded us of who we were and of our purpose to share our love, energy, and light with the world. We will soon come up with excuses, anniversaries, and celebrations with which we will again be in "need" to visit her studio multiple times soon for lessons. I never thought I would fall in love with dancing, especially that my husband would, but now it's a special part of our marriage and the story leading up to our wedding we will enjoy and reminisce on together for the rest of our lives. And we would probably have never found that without this studio and the magnificent, talented, and kind Kim. Try it and find out for yourself! Although I shamefully must share that I was initially hesitant to share this because a part of me wanted to limit the general Vegas access to A Perfect Wedding Dance and knowledge of Kim so we could have her and all of her glory to ourselves. read more

Kim is amazing. My wife and I aren't the best dancers but Kim was patient and really worked with us. She created a dance for us that I love and was easy to remember. Perfect for our skillset. It was romantic and really showcased how much we love each other. It will be a dance I will remember for the rest of our lives. Kim also recorded our dances during practice and sent them to us to study, which really helped because she would comment during the video. My husband and I got married in March and we put off getting ready for our first dance until at the last minute we realized we had no idea what we were going to do! We live in SoCal but were going to be in Las Vegas the week leading up to our wedding for any last minute planning and after reading reviews for A Perfect Wedding Dance we decided to give Kim a call. She responded very quickly and was super flexible, which we needed since we were running around attending to all the last minute details. She knew our venue and choreographed a beautiful dance that was simple enough for our skill level (completely unskilled!) yet still looked amazing! She taught us important basics to make us look more polished and she even used my phone to record us practicing so we could watch it later! All this in only two 90 minute lessons! Our wedding guests were blown away by our dance and couldn't believe we just learned it two days earlier!
