    Our new AC unit!
    Lymari Q.

Today our new AC was installed! Justin walked me through every thing, showed me all the new parts , and what he did to ensure things were sealed. He advised us on different ways to help maintain our new AC and why it's important to keep the area around our thermostat clear. This work came with a 10 year equipment warranty, and a 1 year labor warranty. I cannot recommend this company more!! Every part of this process felt so transparent, efficient, and honest. Call Justin and his team for all your HVAC needs!!

Very disappointing experience with this company. We had Justin and his brother, Bobby, install a new HVAC system in February. There were many issues all around but I'll just talk about the most recent one and why we have to hire another company to fix their mistakes. Our AC unit, which this company installed, is not running. It is correctly 73 degrees in our house with the thermostat set to 69 (see picture). It's not working. Bobby was here last week to fix the AC unit because it would not turn off, even with the furnace on. Well he managed to stop it from running while the heat was on, appeared like it was fixed. Justin then followed up and asked how everything was. My husband told him, so far so good but I'll let you know when it gets warm enough outside to turn it on. Well, it got warm enough outside to turn it on. It didn't turn on. No cold air. My husband contacted Justin and he assured us he would be out to our house no later the Saturday morning to fix it. Well, Saturday 5/6 came around, no Justin. We arranged to have someone at the house all morning and he never showed. Finally, Justin texted my husband and said he slept in. By then, it was too late. My husband already contacted another company to come out this Monday. Justin then told us he would come out Saturday afternoon. Guess what? No Justin. Very unprofessional experience. We now have to spend money to hire another company to fix their install. We will give Justin to opportunity to pay the repair bill from this other company, since he won't honor his own labor warranty. If he does not pay, then we will have to take him to court. Very unpleasant experience. Avoid the company.

Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. That's 5-star for me and another winner for Yelp's project feature.

The furnace tech diagnosed the furnace as needing at least a new control board and couldn't be sure other parts weren't bad. The furnace was full of ice. Everyone from Chapman was clean, courteous and did great work. It wasn't cheap for any of this, but we feel that the prices were reasonable, especially since we were 100% done the very next day.

This time around, I've gotten the chance to try out Chapman to address some electrical issues in the house. Truthfully, I wasn't aware that Chapman handled electrical. I'd begun having some significant electrical issues a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. I called another company that I'd used for a smaller project with good results. They came over and did some minor adjustments, however, they noted there were significant issues and planned to send me an estimate. They did let me know this "fix" was more like a band-aid and the significant work was inevitable. It was less than a day when the "band-aid" stopped working. I waited a bit anticipating their estimate, though also disappointed that they'd done such a weak fix. Finally, things got WAY worse. It was shortly before Thanksgiving and the situation was urgent. I left a message for Chapman anticipating that I was likely out of luck for the holiday weekend. My general sense was that was their plan, too. However, I think the rep (I believe her name was Hannah) heard the panic in my voice and I explained my situation. She arranged for a technician to visit the house the next day. This tech did agree that the issue was serious and warranted a few major repairs. He explained it well and explained my options. To be honest, I'm usually quite cheap. However, when he gave me two options I went with the more expensive option as I really wanted to make sure the fix was done properly. I was tired of band-aids. They used my initial service call as a down payment and the electrician, Rodney as I recall, scheduled it and made sure he would be the electrician for the project (NOTE: In reality, this ended up being a 2-3 person job). The only slight hiccup was that I'd been told they'd arrive at 8am. In reality, I called them at 10am and learned they were having trouble finding one needed part. That was fine, though I should have been called. Around 11:15, and somewhat surprisingly, they arrived and dug in. Seven hours later? They were done. I was particularly touched by a neat gesture - I'm a wheelchair user. In their estimate, the electrician had written that he'd be putting my new panel in at wheelchair height. This wasn't something I asked for particularly, however, it was a pretty cool gesture recognizing my needs. Rodney explained everything and was entirely work focused. He completed the work as promised and the cost was exactly as quoted. He explained a couple other concerns - including one that wouldn't be a Chapman issue, however, he explained how it could impact the electric. I've now had Chapman work on my furnace and my electric. Are they more expensive? Yeah, I'd say so. If you're looking for a budget electrician, Chapman probably isn't that. However, in all three visits the work has been done and done well. They've avoided band-aids and actually fixed issues. Their quotes have been accurate. The employees have been professional. With the exception of today's tardiness, the experiences have all been impeccable. Truthfully, I should have likely called Chapman first. While I may not call them for smaller issues, the truth is for me it's worth a bit more to get the work done right. The work is warrantied and I now have a system that should last for years and is also accessible. That other company? I still don't have their estimate. Chapman wins.

At no point was I contacted by management, despite repeated assurances that a manager would follow up. I also made multiple attempts to contact the company by phone and email and received no response. Their reply below also references figures that are incorrect and do not align with the actual invoices or work performed, or the numbers I was told by their plumbers. I'm posting this update because the public response misrepresents what occurred. I remain open to a direct, professional resolution if the company chooses to engage. This is especially concerning in emergency plumbing situations, where customers are vulnerable due to time pressure, limited alternatives, and a heavy reliance on the company's honesty and accountability. Original Review: I don't usually leave reviews, but my experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was so costly and misleading that I feel a responsibility to warn others. I hired them for a sewer blockage. They immediately diagnosed the issue as a cracked pipe outside the house, quoted me nearly $3,500, and replaced a short section of exterior line. They told me the problem was fully resolved and even claimed their camera inspection confirmed it. Within hours, the line clogged again. When I reached back out, they did not honor their warranty. The plumber left my messages on read and when I told him I'd reach out higher up he then returned my call finally. Instead of re-diagnosing the actual problem, they kept suggesting new "band-aid" fixes and charging for each visit. Their technician then recommended an additional $3,300 repair -- meaning they wanted almost $7,000 total, and none of it addressed the real issue. The worst part is that when I told the technician the repair didn't work, he simply stopped responding and left me on read. No follow-up, no accountability, nothing unless I "called the office" and told them I wanted the additional $3,300 repair. Finally, I called an independent plumber. He immediately found the actual blockage inside the house, under the slab -- the same area Benjamin's claimed to have inspected with their camera. This independent plumber fixed the problem correctly for about $1,200 with jetting(keep in mind the plumber was also trying to upsell jetting to me for $2500), which is roughly one-fifth of what Benjamin's was trying to charge for their second repair alone. In my experience, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing misdiagnosed the problem, sold me an expensive repair that didn't fix anything, ignored me when I reported that it failed, and continued pushing unnecessary upsells rather than standing behind their work. Their warranty wasn't honored and their customer service ended as soon as they collected payment. If you're considering them, get multiple opinions first. This company cost me thousands of dollars and never actually fixed the problem.

I was worried that the bearings were bad, so after 3.5 months of listening to it, I called to ask about possibly having bad bearings. Kirby sent out an employee to check it out. They replaced the enducer motor part, and it continued making the same noise. They replaced that one, and the noise continued. Robert Kirby came out and listened, and thought it might be the roof jack causing some air obstruction, so they replaced the roof jack. That made no difference. They wanted to charge me around $395 and I talked them down to the price back in October of around $345. This was before it was installed. To make a long story short, the enducer was replaced at least 2 times. There was no change in the noise. Over 3.5 months, they'd made 5-7 trips out to figure out the problem. Robert came out twice, one day with Steve, the rep from their supplier R.E. Mitchel Co., and they took the motor part apart and looked at it. Robert told me that Steve said that was the motor Nordine used in all sizes of their furnaces, and there was nothing they would do about it. I'd brought up possibly insulating it during the meeting. Robert knew what to use. They sent out an employee to insulate it, and it cut the noise in half. I wish they had a deeper understanding of the Nordine furnace up front. That's why I gave them 4 stars. They tried to figure it out and fix it. I would not have bought it had I known. The flange on the new roof jack leaves an inch of space with the slope of the roof. The gap has been stuffed full of silicone and will probably draw attention during an inspection when I sell the mobile home. I'm unsure if the motor bearings are being strained and will eventually give out. I've ended up spending 3.5 months with this problem on my mind. I have a furnace that has a defective or strained enducer motor. I appreciate that Robert promised me a free '26 fall inspection and '27 spring inspection to check on the motor. Although I wish we didn't have to worry about it. I was billed for the roof jack even though it was not the source of the problem. I told Eileen I'd split the cost with them. Her compromise has me paying $50 more than my half. I'm dissatisfied with that, as it was installed as a result of their misdiagnosis in the first place. Kirby Heating & Air was recommended to me by a friend who has retired from owning a commercial heating/air company. Kirby is a good company with a very qualified staff. I'm not happy with how my furnace purchase finally turned out, but I am grateful for the effort they made trying to make it right. Use Kirby Heating, but do not buy a Nordine product.
