BEWARE!! $90 + non-optional "25% + TIP" with 2-way lock (PRISON)...will hold you hostage if you…read moredon't generously "OPTIONALLY TIP" !! (I was offered a happy ending, but declined.) This is what I would call a "middle-of-the-road" place, pretends to be a spa but is somewhere between a $60 NYC massage parlor and outright rub-and-tug swindle joint. There is no "$90 tip included" massage (whomever planted that review is either female, or one of the staff/friend of the place). Expect to pay $90 plus be extorted for a generous "tip" that is NOT optional. They intentionally have a 2-way lock installed on the door that is controlled from the 2nd floor, so they can literally LOCK YOU INSIDE if you refuse to leave a "generous tip" (OVER 20%). They have a sign saying "suggested 20% tip" which is a JOKE. For a $90 massage, I asked to tip $15 and the woman basically refused to give me change, then rudely took a phone call while talking LOUDLY in (Thai/Chinese?), clearly saying "Eff You". I demanded change and was lucky to be let out of this prison. While the massage itself was good, I will not tolerate being HUSTLED and SCAMMED by basically sex workers who pretend to be a normal / semi-upscale massage/spa, and then hold you ransom if you don't PAY UP. [There is a word for this type of scam in Japan... These people are definitely not Japanese, but it's right up there with that level of shadiness.] Nice, relaxing massage RUINED by the scammer sex-worker "pay more or else we'll lock you inside and talk rudely on the phone while ignoring you while you ask for change" vibe. Generally, a run down "spa" that is just sex workers in disguise. BTW, get a new plumber, because your sad excuse for "tile work" where your lame "handy-man" basically slapped a bunch of grout and glue all over the wall all around the faucets while replacing your failed plumbing -- essentially ruining what was once a nice original tile job from the early 2000's -- is outright ghetto. At least for way you're hustling customers, it's reassuring to know you got scammed by a sad wanna-be plumber (probably your family member), who doesn't know WTF they're doing and destroyed your entire 400sf "sauna" tile shower with shoddy, horrid looking workmanship that looks like it was done by a 4th grader.

When leaving the woman ask me for tip I was going to the tip 18 dollars (20%) for respect and she was like oh no you should tip more. Never coming back I felt I just lost 120 dls and now my back actually hurts more. The place was really cute though so that was the only good part.

Fifteen minutes into our 90-minute couples deep tissue massage, I saw my husband's therapist, Lydia, typing on a lit smartphone while leaning over him. When she realized I saw her, she hid the phone under the sheets. There is no version of this that is acceptable. Texting during a paid massage is blatant misconduct. It didn't stop there. My husband repeatedly asked her to focus on his neck and shoulders and avoid his feet. His requests were ignored. The technique was lazy and mechanical - repetitive forearm circling with little to no pressure, despite requesting deep tissue. He left feeling like he didn't receive a massage at all. When we raised the issue, the owner acknowledged the behavior was "unacceptable" yet offered only a 25% discount - as if actively texting during a massage, ignoring repeated client requests, and delivering a substandard service were minor inconveniences. This wasn't just a bad massage. It was a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. We will not be returning.

He had planned an evening of theatre, but I absolutely enjoy a chill evening+homemade brunch and wellness activities. He's been to AIRE prior, and I've had many massages locally in LA prior and always opt for the hot stone massage, this time couples massage which is what we did. It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. We were given wristbands and headed to our keyless entry lockers to robe up and descend into the jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge pools. It Feels like entering a gorgeous gothic cave. Strung abt are hundreds of real candles+exposed brick walls. Something we don't have in earthquake prone LA. Truly a romantic, and relaxing ambiance. After the messages, we grabbed our green juices and headed up to shower and dry the hairs on our heads with all the best products and Dyson hair equipment. Not lost on me. Thanks for a wonderful HBD evening, into night. What a beautiful, relaxing, healthy experience. It's the best, truly! Merry Christmas guys.

I've been back to AIRE dozens of time since my original review in 2013 (both TriBeca and uptown,…read morebut mainly TriBeCa location). For the most part, we have always enjoyed our experience - it never felt super crowded and the pools were always nice and relaxing to enjoy, as well as the steam room located in the center of the pools. It's a beautiful space. Massages continue to be mixed however --- my husband always wants a harder massage, while I ask for a lighter touch. He claims they never go as hard as he wants. My last massage there was fantastic. They renovated the space last year, and have run some promos recently and on our last visit it was noticeably more crowded, more than I had ever experienced before. I can only guess it is due to these two factors. We had an hour long massage, which I was extra happy about because I would've been frustrated being in those packed pools for the full 90 mins (massage was good, see above). The steam room was packed, some pools filled with large groups of people, etc. And it was tough finding space at the vanity to get ready afterward, which I'd also never experienced before. Add to this that they were fixing one of the new plunge pools while we were there, and during our massage they twice dropped tools resulting in very loud sounds which echoed into massage rooms which were located nearby. I don't think it was a wise choice to have that work done while guests were there, considering the setting of tranquility they are trying to create. Considering all the above, we have decided to take a break from AIRE, at least the TriBeca location. I brought these issues to the attention of management there and they have apologized with a discount.

I often get asked why I would still drive to Hoboken when there are so many great salons and spas in NYC and I can truly say it's because of the team. Of course the studio is clean, relaxing and beautiful - that's a given in today's beauty industry and what we've come to expect and demand - but the team is so professional, knowledgeable and beyond skilled, and that's the difference. In addition to having a talented and educated staff, Skin by EC offers a wide range of treatment options that have completely changed my body and skin. (All I can say is ask about the venus legacy for cellulite reduction. It has changed my life and I've gone from not wanting to wear shorts to loving my legs again - thank you!!!) With that said, I would like to acknowledge Maggie. She has completely transformed my skin and body and I am so grateful I found her. Her love for what she does radiates through her work and her positive energy makes you feel comfortable and at ease. She is so clean, knowledgeable and friendly, and I trust her recommendations because of how skilled she is. I also appreciate all the little extra things she does during my treatments to make my experience a 15/10. In today's environment, it's tough to find people that truly care about their clients and their profession and Maggie is that person. She's one in a million.

They have valet parking and we were able to check in and have parking covered due to reservations. They checked our ids and bags and then we left our shoes inside a locker. We headed up and there's 4 floors 4-7. We started off at 4 at the locked room and they are very strict about phone usage in the bathroom which i liked and thought Made sense for privacy but some people were texting and being told to put the phones away. After we put our things away we put our robes on and headed to check out the place. Everything is pretty spread out and nothing was really crowded. We enjoyed the pools especially more than the saunas and felt pretty relaxed. We didn't get food here but i did buy an orange juice which was $6 and good. The infinity pool here is beautiful and the view is amazing. The pools in the locker room are really nice and clean and so are the showers. I took a nice shower before we headed out. I will def return

All the pool areas were crowded at 10am, so we couldn't even get in. The saunas were unusable because so many people were looking for a place to go that the doors kept opening every 15 seconds, preventing them from heating up properly. The quiet area with chairs was so crowded that people were using them like lounge chairs on a cruise ship, with one person holding a chair for six people's belongings. It just felt like a complete waste of money to pay for spa access. They are not trying to create a luxury spa experience, just 100% a cash grab. I booked a couples massage for my wife and me, and considering the $500+ price, I expected a luxury experience. We showed up 15 min early, as typically spas at this price point will offer tea, a relaxing environment, and go over where you'd like to focus your treatment before you begin. When we arrived, they told us to come back in 10 minutes, because we were too early. Then, when we arrived 5 minutes before our service, they still said they weren't ready for us to come back; it was a terrible start. I've had over a hundred massages over the past 10+ years, and at the 200$+ price point, this one was in the bottom 5 I've experienced. Just mediocre at best. To top it off, at the end, the masseuse hard-sold the oils/lotions they use, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I get a better massage at Bergen Spa in Brooklyn for $55, and given there was no high-end experience here, it's the same. I wouldn't come back even if they charged half of what they do. Horrible all around.
