Wednesday are half price pizzas. Thursdays are half priced mixed drinks. The pizzas are pretty pricy. The prosciutto 16 inches family size was $34. Pizzas are thin, light and delicious. Food is plated well and is delicious. The pasta was perfectly made al dente. The paccheri alla bolognese was very good. The restaurant is lively and was packed. Decent spot, decent neapolitan pies and pastas/sides. They can accommodate large parties and have a decent amount of space, so we ended up here for a celebration and overall had a great time. Service is ok, but hard to review based on a large party. Everyone was friendly and food came quickly, refills and drink orders took a while but not a big issue. Food was overall decent. To start, we ordered mozzarella and prosciutto, beets, "focaccia" (which is just their pizza dough topped with oil/seasoning/parm and baked), and bruschetta. All were good. For pizzas, we tried a few. The crust was thin and had a nice chew. The pizza toppings were excellent, although I wasn't a fan of the sauce. Favorite pies were the diavola and the shrimp pesto. Some of the pies were a touch bitter, not completely balanced with all toppings/sauce. Pastas were ok, favorite there was the four cheese gnocchi which had a ton of gorgonzola flavor. Wish we had gotten the pizza version as well. pomodoro was plain. Dessert was ok, tiramisu was probably best (panna cotta and cheesecake were ok). We brought the family here for half-priced pasta the other Tuesday night so of course the price was right! We tried the majority of their pastas and while my wife's lasagna was my favorite I'd have to say my gnocchi al quattro formaggi came in second followed by the Spaghetti Del Mare then the Paccheri Alla Bolognese. All of them were delicious dishes and we followed up with our first panna cotta ever; what a delicate dessert. I have to admit, I'm even more excited to try their half priced pizza Wednesdays I honestly have been thinking about it every Wednesday since our first visit. This place is located conveniently on the edge of Arlington, has great deals to match delicious food, good service and a manager that checked on us - and you could tell he actually cares about your making your experience special. I found this place on Yelp and have been wanting to try it out for a while. The food is mediocre. Service is mediocre. Ambiance is mediocre. Both the pasta and gnocchi we ordered were tasteless and the mussels were not fresh. I love Modo Mio! The pizza is similar to the sister spot il Canale with fresh ingredients and fresh Salami (Italian pepperoni). The crust is just excellent. I'm so thankful they came out to VA. We truly had great service and the ambiance is definitely for the family! I love how the manager made a point to come visit our table to ask about our experience and was genuinely interested in us. Went on a Sunday afternoon, no wait, server was nice and friendly. Kept checking up on us, the place was pretty good size with lots of seating available. The building seems old but don't let that stop you from trying their great dishes. I had spaghetti and asked waiter to add bolognese and it was great. I did feel there was something missing but couldn't pinpoint it. They give bread while you wait and we also order the Caesar salad which was good and cold just wish they had added more dressing to it. Overall, good experience and good food. My sister and I came here after a long hike. It was a Friday night and we got seated right away. We ordered the meatball appetizer and two personal pizzas. I chose the Arlington and she chose meatball with ricotta cheese. The meatballs were so tender-they melt in your mouth. The red sauce was outstanding. My salami was indeed spicy which I loved. I had been wanting to visit this place for some time. I love trying new places, decided to give the restaurant a shot on my way back home. I arrived on a Saturday, late afternoon. It was pretty quiet, which I appreciated. Ordered a "Malavita" pizza, Tiramisu and a few Aperol Sprits. A few friends decided to join later on, and I ended up spending quite a bit of time at the place (~6 hours) There is a sense of community in this place which I really enjoyed. We started with the Burrata e Funghi, which was delicious and just right to kick the dinner off. This is my favorite pizza place in the DMV. They serve truly authentic Neapolitan pizzas. You will notice that they use 00 flour and that it has been kneaded and the dough has taken its time to rise for hours in the elasticity of the dough. You will also notice that the crust is thin just as they serve it in Italy and the gluten provides again that special elasticity and creates those pockets of air. Furthermore, the pies are baked in a super high temperature furnace ensuring the pizzas are in and out, by hand, in 90 seconds. Their ingredients are also top notch, from the mozzarella di buffala to the pistachio mortadella. If you are in for the pasta... OMG, get the spaghetti di mare for a seafood feast like only Italians can make. Search the webpage, they have specials on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when you can get 50% dine in pizza and pasta. The octopus is also really good in the appetizer menu. Formerly known as Joe's Place, this is the family run establishment that the Olive Garden purports to be. Having been in the area since 1978 with Sicilian roots and the classic pursuit of the American dream arriving with little money but a willingness to put in the work, the finished product is a fine example of elevating fresh ingredients to sophisticated simplicity. My first outing consisted of a classic Margherita pizza and penne with red sauce. The pizza is prepared in a VERACE certified (international governing body for authentic Neapolitan pizza) hand built oven and unlike Pupatella (the more hipster and trendy rival Neopolitan pizzeria across town), I found the dough to be thinner with more crisp and without the excess chew and char. The fresh mozzarella and sauce has just the right amount of creaminess and zest. The same could be said in regards to the pasta cooked perfectly al dente with just the right amount of sauce clinging within the ridges of the penne. I know I can be a tough critic but nothing gets past my two toddlers so if they eat anything without hesitation or interruption, I know it's something special. We just had a delicious dining experience at A Modo Mio! I never heard of this place until looking it up on Yelp. It's like a hidden gem to us. We ordered the octopus, mussels, personal sized margarita pizza (which is a generous size), and the lasagna. Everything was tasty and well made. The margarita pizza is Neapolitan style and was just as good as Pupatella's famous crust but a much better value. The personal pizza was also much larger than Pupatella for around the same price and their family size pizzas even bigger. We would definitely come back for good food, decent prices and good wine. It's a family oriented restaurant and can be noisy at times due to lots of families and large groups. It's not an intimate date night spot, but for the food I would return anytime. My son and I decided on A Modo Mio (Lee Highway) for a weekday lunch in early January. Full disclosure, we were huge fans of the old Joe's Pizza & Pasta (both dine-in and take out--pizza, of course). Joe's was reborn during the Pandemic as A Modo Mio. The new place offers a large bar that replaced the old buffet area and a large hand built oven. We tried their pizza in the early days of the revamped Joe's but it was a failure compared to its predecessor. Upon arrival we were greeted by Graham who turned out to be our waiter. Very friendly and happy to see us (Note: we were the only ones in the place). We shared the Caprese Salad (always a good test to see the worthiness of an Italian Restaurant). The Caprese was fantabulous; super fresh tomatoes and basil. Our man Graham brought us additional olive oil and balsamic on his own initiative. I had the Caesar Romana Salad with Salmon and my son had the Chicken Panini combo. The Salmon arrived piping hot and exactly as ordered. The Panini was solid. Our original total was 120, with the pasta special it brought it down to 60 but the 20% auto-gratuity on specials it went back up to $95!!!! My kids had an orthodontist appointment nearby and this seemed like an easy option for dinner afterward. I think it was Yelp that directed me to make a reservation online, which somehow got lost along the way. Was impressed and wanted to chip in on the tip. We started with focaccia bread and garlic broccoli (technically a side, but they brought it out with the focaccia). All of it was very very good. The 17 y.o. absolutely loved the focaccia. Gnocchi pesto was the special that night, so I ordered it because I love pesto. I'm so glad I tried it and it was very good, but I love tomato sauces too much to make this more than a one-time thing. 17 y.o. ordered spaghetti al pomodoro and the pasta itself looked AMAZING - nice and hearty and something you'd really enjoy sinking your teeth into. 15 y.o. ordered pizza margherita and, as far as I could tell, they really liked it, but weren't able to finish it in one sitting.
