Margherita Pizza
Kevin F.

The pizza here is incredible. Let me start off by saying the Margherita Pizza here is sensational. The crust is the perfect texture and the sauce and cheese is perfect. Service is what takes this down a star unfortunately. This place seems like it could use an extra staff member so that people don't need to wait so long at each step of the process. Whether it was people waiting to be seated, customers waiting to pick up their order, or delivery drivers coming to pick up, service here seems less efficient than it could be. This may not matter to everyone and that's understandable. But service here is slow. But is it worth it to wait? Yes.

There's a reason why this is one of the best Italian Restaurants around a 50 mile radius. Reservations a must as there is limited seating for dinner. Friendly service and giant portions. You will not leave hungry!

House Salad

Headed back from a long road trip, I couldn't eat another fast food item or gas station snack. I searched on Yelp for a spot not too far off the highway and found this wonderful, local pizza joint. With so many great Yelp reviews, I figured we couldn't go wrong. Everything was DELICIOUS! The men working were super nice and friendly, and we called ahead to place an order. The pizza is thin, like a New York slices and was absolutely delicious. We got a large Margherita pizza and it was enough to feed about three adults (but let's be honest, the two of us finished it). It was huge, but because the slices were so thin, we were able to finish it off. We aren't quitters!!! I also got a house salad and it was truly one of my favorite salads I've ever had. It had incredibly fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and deliciously-seasoned croutons. Truly one of the best meals ever. Don't miss it! During COVID, they're allowing a few people at a time to dine in and don't have outdoor seating, so I'd recommend ordering to-go!

Quick service, friendly staff and the food was delicious! Hot and fresh as it should be. Side salads, Personal Pizza was good, garlic bread bites balls with sauce was my favorite! Restrooms were clean and fully stocked with essentials. Parking was available off street right in front of restaurant. I will revisit if I'm back in the area. We ordered take out afterwards to try their shrimp/ chicken/ sausage / pene pasta dish....OMG!!! The best!!!

Chicken meal

Wow! Although I am not an easily impressed person (because I cook well myself and am very picky in my dining experiences) this pizzeria unexpectedly blew me away! When you pull up to this place l, the outside of the building and surroundings are NOTHING like the experiences inside! I was submerged into a little Italian family cuisine. We ordered a bunch of different chicken dinners, a large pizza, a large salmon salad, non-alcoholic drinks, and even deserts! The bill came up just a little over a hundred. The dishes were big, tasty, and cooked with love while using good quality products. Many pizza places (and pretty much all chain restaurants) use frozen prepared ahead meals/meats. This place was nothing like those other places. The food tasted better than pricey 5 star restaurants!! I was truly amazed, and really didn't expect to have such a high quality meal in Scranton PA! From now on. we will plan on stopping at this place when traveling. What a treat. Even the desert (warm, soft and huge brownie topped with tasty French vanilla Icecream) was divine . I don't even like brownies but this one I ate to the very last bite and had hard time sharing! LOL. ! The food and service at this place simply makes you happy. A Little Pizza Heaven...Thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful service and delicious food. What a well managed family business.

We met the owner, Stefano, and despite the restaurant being at its busiest peak, he couldn't have been more welcoming, kind, and attentive. Speaking Italian with him instantly brought us back to Italy. He embodies the warmth and hospitality we miss so much. The food was authentic, fresh, and clearly made with great attention to detail. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu, and every dish was outstanding. Honestly, it's hard to choose a favorite because everything was so good. Even our kids said they felt like they were back in Italy. They especially loved the pizza. If you're looking for real Italian food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Piciocchi's is a must. We can't wait to come back!

I was visiting from Brooklyn to see my family in the area. My friend, who's a local, told me about…read morea place that makes their own pasta and how they have a great lunch. Ok I'm in, I'm Italian, homemade pasta is right up my alley. We sat down, friendly staff (young and distant), but an extremely strange setting. It was like walking into a Wayfair showroom with a pasta kitchen. The branding was a bit horrid in my opinion, but I work in that industry, so I couldn't get over the esthetic before I even got to the food. The TV "paintings" with random art were the "highlight" truly... I'm being too kind. The wedding table numbers, really were killing me in the worst way. This place was like a mishmash of identities with no real clarity of execution or strategy on how to accomplish what they're trying to be. A crash landing of ideas with no real destination. Now the food and drink! The plates were the size of a small luggage! For starters, the "fresh" bread they offered with a rancid tasting olive oil and the tiniest drop of balsamic vinegar was appalling. The calamari was decent at best... it tasted factory made, the coating was thick and it came with the tiniest portions of sauce. I want my calamari, piping hot, with a really thin coating and a ton of sauce, that's just me. The chicken cutlet was a flavorless flour-dredged slab of meat. Barely pounded out and coated in a thin breading, with no seasoning, and it was crazy big! The Gnocchi four cheese was like eating dough turds in glue. The texture was not good at all, and reminded me of undercooked packaged pasta, and weirdly overcooked all the same time... like the water wasn't boiling and they added the pasta in while it was cold. Gnocchi should be pillowy soft and should literally fall apart in the mouth and the cheese sauce should not be like hair gel stuck to the food. It's Italian food, it's supposed to be herbaceous and well seasoned, this was food for non-Italians, who think they could like Italian food if it was just a little more bland and assimilated... without all the immigrant culture, ya know?! The best portion of the dish was the non-alcoholic drink, which is saying a lot. I genuinely hate to leave a terrible impression, but I really hated this meal, and I'm shocked by the reviews. It would seem a lot of people are here for the big portions and cheap food. Not a quality food experience. Everyone's got their own taste!

She was not only incredibly kind and attentive, but she made us feel completely comfortable and cared for all night long. On top of that, Michelle and Diaz were just as amazing--checking in on us before we even had a chance to ask for anything. The level of teamwork and attentiveness was outstanding. Despite the restaurant being packed, we never waited for a thing. We honestly felt like VIPs--like we were the only table in the room. That kind of service is rare and so appreciated. And the cherry on top? We had the best seat in the house, right next to the piano player, Paul--and wow, can that man play! He absolutely lit up the room, graciously took a request from my dad, and even played Happy Birthday for my mom. It was such a special, unforgettable moment. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Sambuca, Melissa, Michelle, Diaz, and Paul for creating such a magical night. This was an experience we'll never forget, and we cannot wait to come back again!

First the good: the food is amazing! Handmade pastas are out of this world. Entrees top notch…read more Desserts are on point. That olive cake is to die for. The bad: this point has to do with their automatic gratuity system. Nothing to do with the kitchen. I am not sure if anything over a party of 4 gets automatic tip, but it falls apart here: the bottle list. We ordered a bottle of wine. $115. Total cost with tax and gratuity is $143. That's $27 over the cost of the actual bottle. Or a 20% tip roughly. And they probably calculated the tip post tax. Had I known that I would not have ordered a bottle. Now for the arguments of "serving a bottle involves some labor that should be compensated ". Let's do the math. The cheapest bottle they have is 60$. If you were to charge gratuity and tax on this bottle it would be $76.20. That's only $16.30. Not a bad price right? Given the service of opening said bottle and pouring it. BUT... The most expensive bottle they have is $360. If you order that bottle, you will be paying an extra $97.20. That is a huge markup. And if I'm missing something, tell me how the service on a $360 bottle is different than the service on a $60 bottle. Does the server come out with a little song and dance for the more expensive one justifying an additional $97.20 on a $360 bottle of wine? Do you realize how absurd this is? My guess is that the owners don't realize the point I'm trying to make- to give them the benefit of the doubt. That is the best situation. The worst is if the owners know this, and are fleecing the customers. I'd like to believe this is not the case. To sum up: go for the food. Order wine by the glass. DO NOT order bottle service. You will be in for a nasty surprise. The average markup for A bottle of wine is 3x the amount in a restaurant. Retail my bottle was $45. I know this. And if it's $115, that's fair. After all the restaurant makes more money on liquor sales than food. I'm okay with that. But what I find reprehensible is that they charge a service fee on top of that. Which by my calculation is 20%. Therein lies the fallacy. The same 20% charge is applied to the cheapest to most expensive bottle. The effort made to open and serve said bottles are exactly the same! They don't disclose this practice to the patrons. I've run this by multiple people I know. They all say this practice is shady as hell. Enough said, go for the food. Don't get a bottle of wine.
