Ordered takeout and this place was everything. I had the beef tips, Mac and cheese, collards, and the honey butter biscuit. Seriously, everything tasted like grandmas, and that is the best compliment. If I weren't stuffed, I'd hit reorder now. read more

IYKYK..in case you don't.. I did not! Hanging out with a friend and she suggested we go to A'leurer. It was carry out only, but food was amazing. We ordered and it was ready in about 15 minutes. The location has a few restaurants in establishment. Not much to say on ambiance as it was carry out. read more

Great First Impression & Excellent Customer Service!** My boyfriend and I tried **A'leurer LLC** for the first time, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. We decided to place an online to-go order, and the staff was very proactive, they called us shortly after to let us know they were out of turkey wings. What really impressed us was the customer service; they offered to substitute the turkey wings for oxtails at no extra charge. That kind of hospitality is hard to find! As for the food: * **The Oxtails:** My boyfriend thought the flavor was really good. The only downside was that they were a bit too fatty, but the taste was definitely there. * **Food Quality:** Everything else was great. The portions were generous, and the quality of the sides was top-notch. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. If you're looking for a spot that treats its customers right and serves up solid comfort food, give them a try! read more

A’leurer - Beef Tips W/ Gravy , Rice, Mac & Cheese Collard Greens Oxtails over Rice - Soul Food Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

Im honestly surprised to see this go under the radar. This place is definitely better than it gives off. I went the other day after seeing the place randomly and decided to try it out. The small size and simplicity of the menu made me a bit hesitant at first. For starters I had their fried shrimp with a speciality sauce that didn't taste like anything and some dinner rolls with honey spread on them. The shrimp was actually more enjoyable by itself, which is surprising cause you'd hope the sauce would be an addition to the dish. But what really stole the show was the entree. First the portion size was well above what I paid. The plating really stood out. We ordered the Ox Tails and the Pasta. The Ox tails were Huge to begin with, not only that but they were actually really good. I can't remember what sides were had with it but you can choose your own. The pasta had a nice spice to it, the dish was presented well and had more than enough protein spread throughout. I also didn't have any issues with service or wait times. I would definitely try this place again and see what other appetizers they have to offer, because this place was worth it. read more

I went to A'leurer (pronounced "allure") for a celebratory team dinner, selected by my boss who lives out of state. Based on the name, she assumed it might be French or some sort of soul fusion. Before going, I asked a friend who's active on Yelp if she'd heard of it, and she mentioned it was a newer soul food spot, so that's all I knew walking in. When we arrived, I realized this space used to be the Thai restaurant with the bridge and fish. The bridge is gone, but the beautiful door and some of the gold décor remain, which was a nice touch. The absolute highlight of the evening was the staff. Truly five-star service. From the host to our waitress, everyone was kind, patient, professional, and genuinely welcoming. All the stars go to them. Drinks were unfortunately a miss overall, with one exception: the blueberry lemonade, which I really enjoyed. My colleagues did not enjoy their cocktails. The signature drink (named after the restaurant) included muscadine wine, tequila, triple sec, and blueberries, but it didn't land for our table. We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary homemade biscuits and honey butter. I personally thought they were a bit burnt, but others at the table enjoyed them. Appetizers were solid. We ordered all varieties of wings--the lemon pepper wings were especially good. The fried mozzarella was also very good, along with the marinara. Entrees were hit or miss. Those who ordered the turkey wings did not enjoy them**. I ordered the fried chicken, which was solid. The fried pork chop was reportedly good, while the steaks were not well received. Sides were also inconsistent. The collards and kale tasted oddly similar. The mac and cheese was dry and not creamy. The yams were okay. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were the weakest dish--they tasted completely unseasoned, and even adding salt and pepper didn't help. Portion sizes were generous, and prices were reasonable, which I appreciated. That said, I don't think I'd return for a full meal. I would happily order the lemon pepper wings to go and get another blueberry lemonade. The team working there is doing a wonderful job, and I truly hope the kitchen continues to evolve. With some thoughtful menu tweaks and more consistent seasoning across dishes, this place has a lot of potential. While the service was exceptional and portions were generous, the food quality was inconsistent. I'm rooting for this place and hope a few kitchen tweaks help it shine as much as the team does. read more

In walking in, you get, ok this might be good vibes! Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience. Let's start with drinks, three of us ordered cocktails and one wanted sweet wine. I guess the wine wasn't chilled so they thought adding ice cubes to the wine was a good idea but it wasn't and perhaps the server or bartender didn't know what sweet wine meant because it was not sweet. Since it was four of us, we wanted to try a variety of things but those table tops for four don't accommodate that. So we asked if we could get a bigger table because we were ordering a lot of food. We were first met with a lot of opposition. Then finally after we were like where is all the food going to go that they moved us into what I guess is the group area. Now for the food, I ordered oxtails because everyone's reviews were good and even the staff was like yes but I guess I had the wrong cook. I knew they wouldn't be authentic to Jamaican culture. It appeared it was moist because of the light coating of sauce but they were super dry and tough one you cut into it...major disappointment. Others meals came out over cooked or dry. It also took FOREVER to get our food! The only thing that was on point was the honey biscuits they bring you at the beginning and the wings. I'd be willing to go back if someone else just was dying to try it but outside of that I'm good. Don't want to spend my money to get subpar service and food. read more

Don't come expecting to eat in a timely mann!!! The ambiance is casual. They had a live DJ playing some feel good music!! Our waiter, Xavier , was nice and accommodating however, the wait time for the food ....over an hour !! I ordered oxtails - they were out. I ordered beef tips - they were out. I finally ordered fish and collards. After an hour we received our food and our waiter said they were out of collards. Fish was Great!! The bar was just okay...not a lot of selection to choose from. They are still building their brand so I'm hoping it will get better. read more

Got the Lemon Pepper hot wings from A'leurer. They were crispy and the sauce was delicious. Highly recommend. read more

I'm genuinely surprised by how low the reviews are at this place! We are from out of town, but a friend of Jo lives locally recommended them. I had never heard of it so had no expectations. As someone who doesn't usually eat soul food, I was genuinely blown away. The oxtail, wings and turkey wings were all fall off the bone!!!! The mac was delicious as were all the other sides. We tried the shrimp and grit cakes, which were very tasty. Our server- Bria, was pleasant and dealt with the craziness of our table. It seems to be a scratch kitchen, everything came out hot and freshly cooked. We got to meet the owners and were so happy to support a black and family run business! read more

They have a 10 wings for $12 special on Fridays. And I got a side of Mac & cheese for $3 additional dollars. I ordered 5 naked wings & 5 breaded with lemon pepper. It took 45 minutes to get my food & the place was basically empty. I was not amused so I asked to speak to a manager. She apologized & gave me a choice of a free lemon or cheese cake to go. I also ordered a Lisa Lisa cocktail. It taste like a lemon. Yucky! lol I would not order it again. By the way the Mac & cheese was really good. The music is also nice. I think the good his hit or miss, read more

I was a bit disappointed when I went because it was my daughter's first time and I really wanted her to try the biscuits. They claim they didn't have any, but I saw my waiter bring the table next to us some. We waited a long time for her to actually come to our table. She kept walking by but wouldn't stop. She finally came over and got our drink and food orders. Everything was okay. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I tried to support this restaurant multiple times because it's Black-owned and I liked the turkey wings, but the service and overall experience have been consistently unacceptable. On one visit, the owner asked for feedback about the bar selection. When we gave honest input, we were dismissed with "we don't need that." That alone didn't sit right. Another time, I brought a friend from out of town and it was embarrassing. We waited over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged. No water, no service. When we finally ordered, they kept coming back saying they were out of items to the point we could barely order anything. At the same time, loud explicit music was blasting from the kitchen and nothing was done when we asked for it to be turned down. They were even out of to-go boxes. When we calmly raised concerns, the manager responded with attitude and said, "you've been here before, you should know better." Then went on to make an inappropriate comment implying that the host had "something wrong with him," which was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I gave them one last chance months later and it was more of the same. Items out of stock and poor service. Then the owner approached me about a past "incident" and asked if that was when "the B word started being used." That never happened and was honestly shocking to hear. She also admitted she tells the chef to turn the music down and he doesn't listen, which says a lot about how the place is being run. I really wanted to support this business, but after multiple chances, I won't be returning and can't recommend it. read more

I attended a NAACP event at A'leurer tonight. The food was delicious. I look forward to bringing my family. You can eat in or do a to-go order. read more

I tried this off recommendations. It is a little hard to find. Walking it it feels like a place to eat while the move all the tables to the walls for dancing. There were about 20 tables when there could have been doubled. Water feature in the lobby that was not working with empty change. There is a bar upfront That looks empty and has storage boxes behind it. I had fried chicken, collards and Mac and cheese. After waiting 40 minutes , while I was the only person in there Friday afternoon The chicken was really good. The collards are not seasoned. The Mac and cheese was room temp, like it was from yesterday. read more

Walking into the restaurant it was very elegant and nice. The server we had she was nice but also kind of forgetful. If I would have read the reviews on the wait time on food I would have eaten something before coming. By the time I got my food other people in my party was either done or asking for boxes. The spaghetti is made to order. Veggies does not come with the meal, they are priced at $4 per vegetable. The oxtails were very fatty (5 of us ordered the oxtail and had the same issue), it would be nice if some of the fat could have been trimmed off especially if your slow cooking them it will retain its tenderness with little fat. The mozzarella squares were good nice cheese pull, greens beans were good as well. Mac and cheese is a hit or miss. The asparagus is a definitely no. I understand having a party and charging a service fee, however your service fee also determines the tip which is inconvenient because the server forgot certain food, a guest party was told 10 mins on wings which took almost 45 mins after complaining about the meatloaf and I received my food after everyone was almost done with theirs. It would be nice if all food came out at the same time when dealing with parties. read more

Date Night Saturday we never been here before and my husband saw this on Facebook so Saturday went there now it's nice inside but it was too loud for my liking, but when I saw the menu it was like what I ordered baked chicken so you get mashed potatoes or rice so I chose mashed potatoes my husband order the fish but it didn't come 2 side he had order the side separately. I was thinking fish should come with sides and some bread of sort, but any way he ordered yams and collard greens, the yams was not good but macaroni cheese was good. The service was alright it was different than I'm used too, The food could have been hot it was just warm. I spoke to the manager about the place and I told her I go out to eat a lot different restaurants so the money I'm going to pay for your food it should add up. So the whole Atmosphere and the food was not all that good for us. If they want to stay in business they need to step up there game, I don't mind paying and supporting black own businesses but at end of day I want eat good feel like I got my money worth. I'm so glad my mother chose this place to celebrate my grandmothers birthday! The atmosphere was clean and cute. We had a good time fellowshipping & carrying on. Once the food came out we shut up, it was so good!!!! I already know what I'm getting next time I go! My oxtails and rice were so flavorful! My grandma got the lamb chops and left no crumbs! Everyone enjoyed their food. We did have to wait until after the food came out for our biscuits that are supposed to come out with the drinks but they were bomb too so not too much on them, hehe. Our server was sweet & attentive. Overall it was a nice experience and my grandma loved it which is all we really cared about anyway! read more

Loved it! My nephew said it was life changing! Our server was great, the place is nice, clean, and has a great DJ playing late nineties/early 2000s R&B. The food was the absolute star! We had the shrimp and grits appetizer. This is shrimp on top of a grit cake. Think: a huge delicious hush puppy! SO good! I then had the ribs, mac & cheese, and cabbage. My nephew had the Cajun pasta with shrimp and a side or mac & cheese. We both had strawberry cheesecake for dessert. The ribs were as big as my forearm! We're very much looking forward to our leftovers, which are a whole meal! read more

Food was sufficient and very tasty. Truly enjoyed my first time. Definitely will return.

The food was not good. I specifically ask if there was the collards were spicy I was told no. Also, the fish was so greasy. I sent it back and the batter didn't stay on the fish. You could see the grease sitting on the fish. When the to go plate was returned to me it was without a bag. The waitress was rude assuring me the fish WAS fresh. It was NOT. $25 for two small pieces of fish Mac that the cheese wasn't melted and cabbage on the second plate that had no flavor. read more

I didn't want to do it but my wife said do it. Waitress was nice but need more than one to work the area, bring drinks, take orders, may have been 2 with about 6 tables. Biscuit were good. Spicy shrimp and sauce was good. Menu is not user friendly. You have to ask whether drinks are free refill and you don't know which items come with sides. Beef tips were dry with gravy. Mac and cheese is like Mac salad and cheese. I didn't notice until read a review the food is not hot but lukewarm. Roast beef should have better flavor on the gravy. It was almost dry as well. Just call the yams, bake sweet potatoes with butter and sugar. My son fried fish was okay but he only at one of two. Need bigger glasses if you are not going to service drinks as fast when it comes to soft drinks and tea. The glass for tea is like a wine glass. Soft drink was small glass. It like you going for elegance and fancy to mid pricing but the food presentation and taste is like takeout in styrofoam plates for selling dinner plates. The presentation of bringing food out and how it was presented on my plate was like a plate I make at home. No kind of food presentation on the plate. 3 people with tips 123. I was a little shocked at the price for taste of the food. My wife was not happy but I had it on my yelp list and a friend visited last week and gave it a thumbs up to try. The floors are not for rainy days wear flat shoes with non slip soles. The hostess made us feel like we were about to go back to grandma house with how fresh the food will be. I see the reviews are all over the place so I'm not sure but this will be our only visit. Mean no harm to the business. read more

Had fish (whiting) and salmon. The salmon (was a bit dry) but I had it with a bourbon topping, and it came with rice. However, all other sides are ala carte, so be aware that when you are ordering meat, it comes by itself. The homemade biscuits that accompany the meal are delicious. While I wanted cornbread, which was not on the menu, the biscuits more than made up for it. The service was also great. What I didn't like was the sound system. There was a live band that was really good, but they were playing so loud that you literally had to shout to be heard by the people sitting at your table. read more

Poor quality of food I ordered takeout 2 entrees, bake chicken and oxtails with collards greens canned yams. It tasted like left overs

This place has come a long way from opening to now I went last Saturday. I'm late to post I had such a great time. Mind you the place is still new so it was a wait but definitely worth the wait and every penny. The food was amazing! The atmosphere and the service was excellent, would definitely recommend if you have not eaten here before you are missing out. We tried to come and support a black business. We were a party of 6 and the only options were 2 tables that set 4 people each or a booth. We chose the booth but could NOT sit comfortably there and no way we would have been able to actually EAT in this seating arrangement. We asked our waitress if we could add one seat to open end of the booth. We were told no because the owner didn't want to change the decor or something ridiculous. Mind you the restaurant was not full and adding one chair would not have been a great remedy but would have satisfied the situation enough since we were already seated. After being told no, we left and went to Outback which had seating and eating space for six comfortably. I hope the owners read this and make accommodations for larger groups because they lost six customers today. read more

New place worth a try. Interesting food. Stick to their specialties like turkey wings and gravy!

My husband and I was there for Easter Sunday April 5th, 2026. When we walked in the man at the desk told us it would be a wait time to eat so he handed us a beeper, so we went out to wait in the car. The beeper went off 30 minutes later, so we walked in and was able to get a table. My husband wanted a diet drink which they didn't have. They gave us a menu that didn't have the price list of how much everything cost. They brought our food out 1 hour later. They advertised soul food, but the macaroni and cheese weren't homemade it was just noodles with cheese on it. The greens were tough and the food wasn't season. I was very disappointed. They charged us 77 dollars for our plate together which wasn't worth it. I will not go back. False advertisement is a scam and also not having a pricelist is also. The band was playing a little gospel, and another man were selling alcohol drinks. You couldn't tell if they wanted to save a soul or get someone drunk. read more

we didn't care for the food here...bland and dull is the best way to describe it..the place looks nice tho

Nice looking place but everything is so slow. Took our server forever to even really speak to us.
