Always my favorite local spot for a quick bite to eat and variety of appetizers. Hits the spot every time.

Today was our first time trying Mr. Kirin and it was delicious! We were greeted soon as we entered, which was very nice. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside and out. We were very pleased with our food and as you can see from the pictures below, they give you more than enough. Oh! They also offer seafood boils. We will be visiting again.

Mr Kirin is one of my favorite spots to get a shrimp boil. They have fast service, and the food is always hot. The staff is always friendly. They have a large variety of options, serving both seafood and hibachi. Everyone I've taken has enjoyed the food and continue to go back. If you haven't friend them you should.

What I remember most about my visit here was the 5 star service. It's extremely quick and the staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. The seafood boil is great, and the hibachi is delicious. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed. It's a bit of a hidden gem, but a gem nonetheless.

Tonight was my first visit to Mr. Kirin. I made an online pickup order, and it was ready in about 10 minutes. Even though I picked it up, I did take a moment to look around. The inside is small, but they have a lot of outdoor seating and a lovely patio. Along with Japanese, they also offer cajun-style seafood. Their pricing is very reasonable. This evening, I went with Japanese options, but I will be sure to try their seafood sometime soon. I got crab ragoons, onion soup, and the hibachi chicken, which comes with your choice of rice and either an egg roll or soup, I chose the egg roll. All of this was under $20, and so so good! The soup was hot and savory, and the crab ragoons were super creamy and delicious! The hibachi chicken was a large portion, and I mixed in a little white sauce. It was so yummy, but it could have used a little more vegetables and chicken as it was mostly rice. The egg roll was small but packed with flavor and perfectly crispy. I will most definitely back to this little gem!

Front entry way of the Restaurant, they have 2 ways to enter.

Decided to try Mr.Kirin for the first time and it was good and moderately priced. They had a ton of door dash orders going out while we waited for our food. The vegetable tempura was very nice and not greasy. Our entrees were good but I really wished the spring rolls were made in house, these were the standard frozen ones. Next time i want to try a bubble tea.

Even after so many months this place is solid. Totally consistent. Portion sizes still amazing. Not a negative thing to say. This is my go-to for hibachi.

Mr. Kirin is another restaurant on our new office location bucket list. My coworkers and I frequent here quite a lot. They have a large menu that features Cajun seafood (more expensive), pasta with chicken or shrimp and you can pick your sauce, Japanese hibachi, and a few Chinese dishes. They also offer a large bubble tea menu. Like I said, a wide array of choices. You order at the counter and then get your drink cup and pick a table. They bring your food out to you in takeout boxes, which is actually quite convenient because of the large portion sizes. The woman who works the counter is very busy but nice if you can have more than a few seconds with her. She always answers questions well and is quick to bring extra sauces if needed. They do a heavy takeout business so poor thing is always swamped but she handles it well. I can't speak for the Cajun seafood but plan to get it to take home to my family one day. It's just too much for a work lunch. The hibachi menu is extensive and features more than your average chicken, shrimp, and steak. They have scallops, tilapia, and salmon. So good! And the prices for the hibachi is very reasonable. The ambiance is generic but I don't care with the food being so delicious and quick! I would give Mr. Kirin a solid 4.5 but had to round up for the sake of the stars.

I give them a solid 31/2 rating as I did not eat in to have a total experience . The delivery was great . A solid value and the hibachi entrees of shrimp and chicken and ribeye were tasty. I liked the convenience of delivery and it came well packaged, hot and overall good flavor. It was not too salty as many hibachi places are . The vegetables was mostly onion with a few carrots and squash. The egg rolls were really good, not too greasy. I would definitely order again and may be tempted to try some of their seafood dishes that are designed to be like steamer pots with seafood , corn and potatoes . The food was fresh and given the size , leftovers heated up well.

I currently live in a land-locked Midwest state so it's been a minute since I've had boiled cajun/garlic butter shrimp & crawfish. Being in the area for business, I thought I might as well take advantage of it. Mr Kirin did not disappoint in scratching my itch. Solid flavor & cooked just right (overcooked shellfish gets mushy). I ordered the "hot" spice level, but if I go back I'll get "extra hot". It did have a kick, but I kind of wanted it to feel like I'd made a significant error in judgement so it would've been a real accomplishment in powering through & finishing it all. Anyway, recommended!

Good new spot in town to check out. It's an interesting concept with the Cajun seafood/hibachi combination. I personally don't eat seafood so was only there to get hibachi. They just opened up about a week ago and I think the prices for what you get are great. My teriyaki chicken came with white or fried rice, veggies and your choice of an egg roll or soup for $6.75. They had many covid protocols in place including the normal mask, signs, sanitizer. One I hadn't seen at a restaurant yet was a self standing thermometer/temperature reader when you walk in.

We finally had a chance to try Fishbones on Walker Avenue. We were looking for something casual and…read moreinviting and what we found was a rustic, engaging vibe at Fishbones. We started out with cocktails. I had a Hendricks dry martini straight up (it was delicious) and my wife had a Don't Call Me Sweetie which is mix of Hendrick's Gin, Lemon, Cucumber, Basil, Simple, Saline 15. It is very citrus heavy, so be advised. She had them cut it with a bit of cranberry to offset the citrus. For main courses, my wife had the grilled salmon and she chose sautéed garlic spinach and wasabi slaw as her sides. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my side was blackened green beans. Let's talk main course first. My wife's salmon was terrific. Flaky and moist and very tasty. My shrimp and grits was unique because it was a real balance between large pieces of shrimp and the grits. Many times you'll order this dish and end up with a pile of grits with some shrimp sprinkled on top. This version is very tasty and a really nice balance of flavors. The Cajun seasonings have it some kick, but it did not overpower. The side dishes are where we had a couple of surprises. First off the sautéed spinach was really delicious, but my wife's wasabi slaw was bland. It's a huge shocker because when you see the word wasabi, you expected to have some Asian kick to it. This did not. It was hard to even identify that it had wasabi in it. That was a disappointment. The surprise was the blackened green beans. They actually were one of the stars of the show. Their flavor and texture was just awesome. We could've ordered a huge bowl of it and eaten all of it. While it didn't need it, there was a dipping aïoli on the side, just in case we wanted to add that to the green bean experience. As I mentioned off the start, Fishbones is a very casual experience. It's very pub-like in that way. We really loved it and the wait staff, which is a team approach as anyone who passes you makes sure you're doing OK, were kind, upbeat and helpful. Even with the bland slaw, we can't lower our rating because overall the experience was terrific. We will definitely come back.

Husband and I popped in for a week night dinner after doing some holiday shopping. It's a small, but very cute place. Can sit at the bar or at one of the high top tables. I enjoy sitting by the fish tank they have toward the back. I love their peel and eat shrimp, so we decided to get a pound as an appetizer. These shrimp are the big guys and I highly recommend asking for the Old Bay seasoning on them. I tried to limit my use of the melted butter (of course yum) which wasnt too hard as their cocktail sauce is pretty darn good. The balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy in their preparation is spot on. For entrees we went with two of their most popular dishes. Hubby ordered the farm-raised catfish. This dish comes with certain sides but you can customize, he got the slaw and blackened green beans. I got the blackened ahh tuna medium rare which comes with your choice of two sides. I went for corn and the blackened green beans. My tuna was perfectly prepared and hit the spot. I received two big half pieces of golden yellow corn. It had nice subtle sweetness. Their blackened green beans are a must try. Perfectly seasoned. The creamy dipping sauce is also delish but tried to limit use. This was a lot of food and very healthy. I left plenty full with no guilt. Everything was superb. The service was also very attentive. No issue getting a table on a weeknight. There is something for everyone on the menu. I've never been able to convince myself to get anything but seafood as their specialty, but they do have options for meat-lovers and even some vegetarian and vegan options available. I bet they are good too. Be sure to look at their Facebook page and website to see their weekly Specials. After you give Fishbones a try you, like me, are going to think you should come more often each time you do!

Tonight I had a dozen and a half of oysters for my starter with garlic butter and lemon pepper boil sauce on the side & extra extra lemons and let me tell you they did not disappoint. They're usually bigger but it is winter so I won't complain. The bar is always hit or miss hence the missing star and tonight it was a miss for me. I order the gone fishing fish bowl and asked for extra sour it was extremely flat and felt like it was missing something. They definitely didn't add the extra sour either. I gave the drink to my companion as not to waste but it wasn't worth it. For my boil bar I had craw fish and green mussels in Gallic butter and Cajun hot with a side of rice and eggs. It was phenomenal per usual. Very consistent and delicious. The restaurant was great tonight. Friday. On the weekends it can get extremely loud when they are doing live music. We settled in on the small outdoor patio on a very fine spring evening for a meal that hit the spot each point along the line. Well... Maybe except for their chairs. These chairs were not the kind you would usually sit outside to eat in, more built for reclining with a drink in hand. It was not comfortable to sit forward and eat my meal. But man, was that meal ever delicious. Chips came out with three types of salsa, and we ordered the guacamole provincial to go with them as well. The chips on their own were decent, but each salsa had a unique flavor and amount of heat that kept things interesting. The guacamole was chunky and full of flavor, with a good enough portion for the four of us. When the meal came, it was clear I had won dinner. I got the "Mezcali's Best" which honestly, I think it was their best effort. Grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, onions, peppers, and zucchini in a chipotle queso sauce. Man. THAT SAUCE. That sauce just simply made the whole thing incredible. To the point when I cleared my plate, my wife had me scrape the sauce onto what was left of hers. In addition, the refried beans had an excellent flavor, I am not usually big on the beans... but this one had me wanting more. Chips used to scoop up some beans, rice, and sauce... were so so good. I would definitely come back here, probably sit inside, and order the Mezcali's best (or anything I can get that chipotle queso sauce on) again.

The margaritas are massive as well. They also offer a lunch menu with quite a few options at a lower price, which is always appreciated. Chips and salsa are complimentary, with three different salsas to choose from: mild, verde, and spicy. All three had great flavor. The chips themselves weren't quite as fresh as I'd like and didn't come out hot or warmed. My server saw how much I loved the salsas and kept refilling. She was awesome! For this weekday lunch, I went with the Burrito Vallarta with chicken. Rice, beans, avocado, and a tasty hot sauce inside, with sour cream, pico de gallo, and lettuce on the side. Everything tasted fresh and the burrito as a whole was juicy and flavorful. The chicken was shredded and just a bit tough. I personally prefer freshly grilled chunks or strips, but it was still good overall. All in all, this is a nice addition to the shopping center and a solid option for Mexican food in the area.

The atmosphere is busy, lots of people chatting, but you're still pretty much able to hold your own conversations. Jake was our delightful British (I think) waiter. He brought us our beverages and described what had to be 5-6 specials for the evening. Everything sounded delightful, but I've been wanting that fried flounder since day one! Jake even brought us a sample bowl of hush puppies with butter. YUMMM!!! The dinner came within 10-17 minutes, nice & hot! Everything was pretty tasty. My flounder was a little bland so I requested some salt & pepper to add more flavor. I got the chili sauce on the side because the fish is the star, not to be covered with Thai chili sauce. Todd was cleaning empty tables near us and stopped by to make sure we enjoyed our meal and would come back. We definitely will!!! Thank you Todd for helping make our girls night dinner delightful!

Dining in on a weekday, came late with my date. Staff greeted us right away when we walked in. We…read morewere seated outside in the patio because the inside dining was full. The patio area was lit with string lights. We tried the oyster and mussels for appetizers. The mussels was tasty and seasoned really well( spicy tomato sauce). The oyster rockerfeller was okay I wasnt fond of the parmesan and bacon toppings. For the main entrees I ordered the seafood mix boil. The seafood boil is steamed and comes with a side of butter sauce. It was good but a little over cooked. My date ordered the pan seared salmon with terriyaki glaze,he liked it.
