Vacationing in Paris for a week, we ended up in a small restaurant bar located across the street from a hotel we were staying at. The name of the restaurant was A la Bonne Cave. The place not being very big. Is full of locals having a beer, a meal and a conversation with one another. They even had small families eating here even with the bar atmosphere. My wife and I found the place to be very charming so we decided to dine here. The front of the place had the bar. Ran by a kind bartendar who was very friendly. He spoke little English but was all smiles.
Throughout the place are tables where you could sit down and eat. They also had small tables outside on the street curb if you decided you wanted to sit outside instead. One thing I loved about the French is that they never rush you. People there just love to hang out and places don't seem to mind how long you stay. Not like the states where places want you in and out.
While we were there, a nice French lady waited on us. The good thing was that she spoke very good English. She even gave us menus that were in English. For starters, they bring a basket of sliced pieces of a baget to your table. During my stay in Paris. No matter where I was in that city. The baget bread was awesome.
For my main meal, I had a rip eye steak medium well served with a dison mustard sauce. For my sides, I had thin crispy fries and a vegetable medley. The food like the restaurant bar is uncomplicated and the food is real good. The dison sauce complimented my steak perfectly. Washing it all down with a cold Guinness. It ended up being an amazing meal. The best meal in Paris. There are many restaurants throughout the city like this one but there is only one A la Bonne Cave. This restaurant has my heart and if I ever come back to this charming city. I am coming back here to eat. read more
