At the beginning phase of interacting with their agents, they were nice until we paid for our Tour. Afterwards things went downhill, with slow responses, no callbacks, and very little information such as when we were expecting to receive our itinerary. We literally had to beg to get our itinerary about a month before our flight. My wife and I completed the 17 day China tour, plus the Yangtze river cruise in May 2019 and the tour was horrible. The only thing that was pretty much organized were the flights. The hotels were as advertised, which was 4 star, however - they were not centrally located (this was an issue for some on Tour with us). This was an inconvenience for those wanting things in close proximity such as fancy restaurants, and nice stores. As for our Tour guides, some of them barely spoke English - so it was difficult to communicate effectively to them. To make things worse, each day was literally feeling like a shopping tour. I get it, some local residents are sales reps looking to earn a living, however, the sale pitches gets overwhelming and annoying. It's as if you're almost forced to buying things you don't need and it felt as though the guides were encouraging these reps behavior. The optional tours felt extremely short and they were crowded. This felt and was very low value. The shorter the shows, made it difficult for everyone to get engaged when it ended so quick. I don't' recommend Nexus Holidays to anyone.

It included cities like Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Beijing, with buffet breakfast included and sometimes even lunch included. It's a deal for sure but personally, I don't prefer following tours since I'm experienced enough to travel China, but my mother-in-law signed us up. I do think it's actual great for larger families with senior folks as the excursions and outings are brief before you rest in the bus. It's also great for first timers to China or those who aren't as tech savvy to use the Chinese apps. Beijing however was a bit strenuous because it was raining one day, we squeezed our itinerary tighter. The Great Wall we visited was a section that was very steep to climb. It's all optional, you can climb up as much as you want or skip climbing all together like my mother-in-law. I had a good experience but I'm just not a fan of sitting in long bus rides and prefer to stay closer to the city centre and pay a bit of a premium to eat where I want to eat as opposed to eating at rest stops and buffet breakfast (rest stops and hotel buffets are more elevated in China than Western countries though). 11-days is quite short to fly all the way to Asia, I normally would like to stay a bit longer but the package deal was to fly on the same flight home. I found out later there were extensions that can be added to visit Xian but the agent at First Markham Place, didn't inform us about these extension add-ons to our trip. She made us think that we had to choose this package or an entirely different package. If you sign up and subscribe to their email list you also get another $50 off per person and I believe signing up in person maybe cheaper than online. The agent helped us with applying the discount. Another thing to keep in mind is that despite booking together, none of the airline seats of our group are sitting together so definitely check-in as early as possible to get your preferred seating and hopefully arrange yourself to sit together. Your whole tour group would be flying together and it would be a packed / full flight. They also don't provide the hotel names and addresses in advance. You only find out a week before. It's still really good hotels, one even at a golf resort with extensive buffet breakfast. However, these hotels are cheap because they are normally 1hr away from the center of major Tier 1 cities like Beijing and Shanghai. So even if you decide to go on your own, most of the suggested places to hit up is far away. So definitely get used to using Didi (Chinese Uber) and a Translation app ready so you can have the flexibility to explore on your own. We had one free day in Shanghai in our tour. Now time for the review, these cheap tours are cheap because there are build-in shopping destinations like Silk factory, tea factory, pearl factory, jade factory and Chinese medicine institution that are geared towards tourist sales, which you cannot skip. Not all Taipan tours are shopping though. I wouldn't say they are scams but I do think they made a deal with the tour company to subsidize the cost of the trip. I personally didn't find them too pushy if you don't want to buy, there will be others that will and you can just take that opportunity to window shop, but that does take up time of your trip. We did end up buying silk sheets and tea though $$$$. The prices are probably a bit more than local price, more of a tourist price. There isn't much to time shop for clothing or other personal items given you're on a schedule with the group. I do recommend setting up JD or Taobao if you want to do online shopping and have those items shipped to your hotels in advance as Chinese hotels are really good at holding packages before you arrive just make sure it's to delivery to the hotel where you would be staying at least a couple days and order at least a few days in advance or check what the estimate delivery timeline is to the destination. Our main tour guide Zhou Yan, was fantastic. She spoke fluently in English and is clear to understand. She's also a local in China. She was really great and patient all the way through. 5-stars for Zhou (Jo) for sure. We're really lucky to have her. The other local city tour guides that they used in the other cities were just okay, their English wasn't as clear, probably understand them 70% of the time. A lot of the add-on tours are optional. Our booking agent advised us to have USD cash prepared in advance for tour tips and excursions. I'm kind of annoyed that the tour agency told us to bring USD even though when were arrived our local tour guides are more than willing to accept Canadian conversion on par of the day's exchange rate on Google, which really would have saved us fees from exchanging money in advance to USD as Canadians.

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an exciting family vacation to Egypt turned into an…read moreextremely stressful and disappointing experience because of how poorly our trip was organized by Trip to Go. We booked this trip **two years in advance**, and from the beginning, I tried to have my reservation connected with the rest of my family's reservations. I was initially told it was too close to the trip date, but when I called Trip to Go directly, I was assured they would link everything for me. They never did. Then came my flight itinerary. I live in New Jersey, right next to Newark Airport, yet Trip to Go booked me from **LaGuardia to Toronto, Canada, to London, England, and finally to Cairo**. I was traveling alone through all of these airports. My flight itinerary was sent to me less than 30 days before my vacation, so I was unable to make any changes. I later found out there were direct flights from New York to Cairo, which made the itinerary even more frustrating and difficult to understand. When I received my bus information in Egypt, I discovered that I had been assigned a different bus from the rest of my family. I contacted Trip to Go and asked to be moved to their bus. I was told they would take care of it once we arrived. They did not. Nothing was changed. Because of this, a family vacation became a situation where I was essentially **traveling alone in Egypt with strangers**. I was alone on the flights, separated from my family on the buses, on a cruise ship without them, and staying in different areas of hotels and resorts. I did not spend the majority of the trip with the people I had planned and paid to take this vacation with. There were also issues with the excursions. I was told I had signed up for excursions that I never purchased or requested. The entire trip felt extremely disorganized. On multiple mornings, we had to be on the bus as early as **4:00 a.m.** because things that should have been handled beforehand were not completed on time. There was constant confusion and a lack of communication throughout the trip. One positive part of the experience was our tour guide, **Sherif**. He was great, very knowledgeable, and did an excellent job sharing information about Egypt and its history. Even coming home was stressful. I was questioned at multiple airports about why I was traveling on such an unusual route. I had to repeatedly explain that **Trip to Go booked my flights and I had no control over the itinerary**. The routing was so unusual that it created unnecessary questions and stress when traveling internationally. I understand that travel can come with unexpected issues, but these were not isolated inconveniences. There were **multiple opportunities for Trip to Go to correct these problems before and during the trip, and they failed to do so**. This was supposed to be a special family vacation that we had looked forward to for two years. Instead, I spent a significant portion of it alone and separated from my family because of poor organization and a lack of follow-through. That is incredibly disappointing, especially for a trip of this cost and significance. I would strongly encourage Trip to Go to take a serious look at how these tours are being coordinated, because my experience was nowhere near what I expected when booking a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation.
