Rescuing cat from tree -- 40 feet up, October 21, 2013. Our cat, Rosetta, did not come home Sunday and did not respond to calls or the shaking of her favorite treats. I got up before 6 am and walked the perimeter of our yard, calling and shaking treats. I heard her meowing. She was in a neighbors' chinaberry tree. She would not come down. I called the neighbors when it got light to let them know there would be activitiy. We called the fire department and they sent men out on an "exercise." They said their ladder was only 20' and could not reach. They offered to blast her with water and we said, no thanks. They said "most cats come down when they get hungry." I started checking on Rosetta about every 2 hours. She was obviously getting weaker. We tried the following, unsuccessfully: called vet and staff said no one had ever asked for a referral before, called arborists in yellow pages, all busy, and called A Frame Home Services as a co-worker's friend from high school is the owner and had recently saved his cat. Response was great and the owner showed up, went up his 24' ladder, had to cut some small limbs that were in the way and dangerous, and with running shoes and spikes went the rest of the way, got Rosetta into a bag, and lowered her to us. I have nothing but great things about this company. I had seen their signs around and decided to go Local and give them a try. All I can say is, don't listen to the other reviews....I don't know what they were talking about because the person I met, the owner Gene, was nothing but professional and honest (real!!!). His crew, Alex and Chuck are outstanding as well. I trusted them to enter my home, when I was there, and they were courteous to lock things up. I cannot say enough how they have turn my home around and it's brand new almost. I was telling my husband how unfair it is that our house is better looking than when we moved in. I should have contacted them 7 years ago. I have my whole house painted from top to bottom, and wood floors in 2 bedrooms. The flooring crew was spectacular. It's amazing how great my floors look...WOWZA. The painting crew is exceptional and detail oriented. They did not leave a single spot and if there were mistakes, they fixed it right away. Alex and the painting crew went out of their way to appease all my OCD and just... I'm floored at how awesome they were. They turned my little shack into a mansion (not really but you get the point). Me and my fiance used A Frame to redo one of our old crusty bathrooms and water heater. The job was much bigger than i originally thought. I contacted several contractors to bid the jobs. A couple of the contractors that i contacted i had previously used and was reasonably happy with their service. But after meeting with Gene and Joe from A-Frame, we felt good about going with them to do the job. They were going to be spending a week or two at my house when i wasn't there so i needed to go with people that i felt i could trust. On top of that they quoted us a price that was within our budget. They ended up doing a great job. As with most any contract work, the job did take a week or so longer than we had planned but we were fine with that. It was the holiday season and they were extremely busy (which is a good thing). They communicated well with us about what was going on the entire time and worked as fast as they could with everything. In the end we were both very happy with the outcome and are currently using them to paint the exterior trim of our house. We also plan to use them for other future projects. read more

My attic collapsed and I broke body parts on Nov 29, it was a huge mess, emotionally and LITERALLY. Went through Home Depot, found A-Frame. My call was answered, 2 well informed and experienced life savers came when I needed them and when I was able to meet, they were ON TIME, kind, helpful, did everything, inlcuding purchase of new contraption, allowed me some security with my fears over attic disaster. Granted, I'll still never go up again, but they did show proof positive that even if a hurricane hits my house in south Austin, my attic stairs will remain. I can just make friends go up for me! I had so much trust from the start, I passed off my HD credit card so they could buy what was needed and I wouldn't have to....while I napped. I mentioned, too, that I had a house full of dogs that weekend, and these two were so respectful of my nap time and need for silence that they would call me from my own garage if they had soemthing to share, so as not to get my dogs barking. When our new furnace and AC unit was installed by another company and we had water damage in our living room ceiling and wall, Gene of A Frame Home Services was called in to repair the damage. He was extremely knowledgable and competent and did an excellent job for us. While he was there, we hired him to do some more repairs for us as well as re-build a fence that our dog was jumping over. He always called to let us know he was on the way, did a terrific job, and is obviously a man of honesty and integrity. Those traits are golden these days! We have also had him take a look at a project for our daughter and her husband and he will be doing this work as well. A Frame Home Services really helped my husband and I out of jam. We needed to have some flooring completed in our home after our first contractor did not work out. Nick came out to the house, was really friendly and professional, to give us the quote. He finished the job on time and the floors look great! Nick comes out with a van that has a saw inside, so no need to worry about wood shavings in your house or lawn. Nick was great, he communicated well, returned phone calls and followed through on the job. He let us know what to expect and we were really happy with the end result. I am very pleased with A Frame Home Services. It started with dead limbs off of a tree in back yard due to the winter freeze and went to building a fence between mine and my neighbors yard to filling in and covering an old pond that turned to cess pool. They are very polite and professional each time. They do a very thorough job and clean up behind themselves. The workmanship is superb! The price for each job has been more than reasonable. I called my favorite handy man Joe Goss and he had someone out there within hours, set up a temporary fix for the day while waiting for the part, and had the job complete the next day. As they became involved in the work, they found a better way to make repairs to the fascia and soffit and reduced the quoted price. Very pleased with the finished project.
