After a long waited update on my review, I'm happy to say that DeFalco's has won my tastebuds!…read more This is a local business that truly cares about their customers and values the quality of their food! From the deli selections and warm dishes to your overall experience. They want you to enjoy every last bite and interaction. My first experience with DeFalco's wasn't what I expected and I think it was because of the pesto sandwich that was overhyped online. However I shouldn't have been so quick to judge them off that one dish! The management team reached out right away and asked that I give them another go! And so I did!! We ordered two pizzas (Margherita and sausage) as well as their chicken pasta! Instantly obsessed and one of the best pizza I've had in Phoenix!! Thank you so much to the team at DeFalco's for caring for your customers and pouring love into the food and community!!

HOWEVER, after walking in on a fairly-busy Saturday, DeFalco's was not welcoming, no one greeted us, it was confusing, no clear line or organization to queue people to order/pick-up/ask questions/etc. it smelled of nothing, not food. the Denny's-like kitchen was in the back. the only thing front-facing was a few cold salads beyond the mass of people looking at menus and in general not knowing where to order or go. so it was tough to even get a looksy at that junk. i went to use the restroom before we ordered, as one does...there was a gentleman already using the one urinal, so i hopped into the stall to peepee, but unfortuntately the toilet had lots of poop stains all over the bowl. this is gross. i do not want to eat here and think about your poopy bathroom. not welcoming, not organized, too much visible poop. no, thank you. bye.

My coworkers and I swung by Spinato's for a team lunch. We've ordered pizzas from here many times,…read morebut only for carry out. We had not sat down to eat at the restaurant. The pizzas were always good, so we figured why not go eat there and try some other items. There were 12 of us, so we made sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Upon arriving, we had no issues. A couple of tables were ready and waiting for us. First impressions: The restaurant is big. There's a ton of space and seating. The vibes are nice. This location also has a big parking lot, so parking was not an issue at all. Once we were all seated, our waitress offered us drinks and gave us time to look through the menu. I must say, there's some pretty affordable happy hour items on there. However, I was really hungry and opted for a regular menu Toasted Da Vinci sandwich with a side of chips. No drink. The sandwich was delicious. I really liked it. The bread was toasted to perfection and it was quite flavorful. The chips were also excellent. They were perfectly crisp and seasoned. Probably some of the best I've had. The meal was a good portion and very filling (and I'm a big guy!). Overall, I had a good experience. I'd come here again for that sandwich.

First and foremost it bothers me when some people call a "family restaurant" a "hole-in-the-wall"…read moreestablishment. This is a clean and well run family establishment. I just had two great meals there last weekend when we were in town for a Allan Parsons Project concert. The first night (Fri) I looked over what other people were eating and the table next to me had a great looking shrimp and pasta dish that I ordered with the spring mix walnut salad. My wife had the Gnocchi with Vodka sauce and a Caesar salad. We were both very pleased with our selections. Sat. afternoon we came back before the concert. I had a "custom" made pasta dish (chicken, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, broccoli, olive oil) and it was great! Had the same salad as Fri. night. My wife had the lasagna and was very happy with the serving size and flavor. We will definitely be back when we are in town. Give this a try and you will be satisfied like we were.

Come for the Lasagna, Not the Candlelight Romance…read more We came here for a birthday dinner because we wanted to try something new, and by the end of the meal I found myself with two very different opinions: The food? Excellent. The ambiance? Let's talk about it. First, the good. The food was genuinely delicious. This feels like the kind of family-owned Italian restaurant where the focus is on what's coming out of the kitchen rather than what's hanging on the walls. Everything tasted like comfort food should; warm, satisfying, and made by people who care about the recipes. The service was also very good. In fact, the cook came out during our meal to ask how everything was. I was happy to tell him the food was fantastic because it absolutely deserved the compliment. Now for the not-so-good. We arrived around 5:30 PM, and the dining room was so quiet I could hear dishes being washed in the back. Not "pleasantly quiet." More "did everyone else know something I didn't?" quiet. For most of the meal there was no music at all. Just silence and the occasional clink of kitchen activity. They eventually turned on some background music shortly before we left, but it was so low that it felt more like a suggestion than actual ambiance. The tables, chairs, and overall décor are perfectly fine, but this isn't the place I'd choose for a romantic date night, anniversary dinner, or a birthday celebration where you're looking for a special atmosphere. What it is, however, is a great place to bring your spouse, kids, parents, in-laws, or anyone who appreciates good Italian comfort food without needing a white tablecloth experience. My advice? Come for the food. The food is worth it. If you're chasing ambiance, maybe lower your expectations or plan for a later dinner. The atmosphere seemed to improve after 6:30 PM as more people arrived. Bottom line: fantastic food, friendly service, family-dinner vibes. Just don't expect Tuscany. Expect comfort, and you'll leave happy.
