On top of all that, the price was less than a quote I got from my previous HVAC guy and Local HVAC was able to respond faster on a failed A/C system in 90 degree weather.

He provided reasonable recommendations (replace an incorrect AC grill and consider a service contract) that go the office for an emailed quote. Very happy with this initial interaction!

Our water goes from hot to cold to hot to cold then stays cold unless we turn on another faucet. They kept saying the unit worked but the unit does not work in our house. The pipes coming out of the unit are 3" and they retro fitted it to our 2" pipes. We believe that's the issue, the flow rate. They put it in our house without figuring out or even knowing if our plumbing would support it. They have reduced the value of our home. There's a lot more to this story. I went back and forth with this terrible company for more than a year. I will most likely open a civil lawsuit against them if and when we can afford to pay for repairs which one plumber said would be $6000. The cost of the install was $14000. I did this for our handicapped daughter so she would have a fairly care free home maintenance future. They don't care. DO not do business with these people!!!!

Where do I start? In mid-June of 2026 both our upstairs and downstairs A/C systems were completely dead. Bob Fleming came to the rescue in a big way! It was H-O-T hot! And it was very uncomfortable to sleep upstairs with no A/C. We decided to install a SEER20 Bosch 36k BTU Bosch heat pump A/C system, which supplies both A/C and Heat at a cost effective rate. It was a big project that also required replacing the air handler in the attic. Since this wasn't going to happen overnight, Bob went out of his way and bought 3 new window AC units for us to use upstairs (which he installed) until the work was completed. He didn't charge us a penny for these. He let us borrow them for free! That bridged the gap perfectly. The new A/C system works perfectly! It's quiet, efficient, and very professionally installed, along with a smart Ecobee thermostat that I quite like. The heat pump also supplies heat during the winter. Bob smartly set it up so that it automatically uses the heat pump when the outside temperature gets down to as low as 35F. If the outside temp goes below 35F, then the energy source automatically transitions to our pre-existing natural gas system. Supposedly that's the sweet spot to use both systems as effectively and cost-conscious as possible. It's brilliant! Bob also reinstalled our old A/C lines that went to three different mini-split systems on the first floor. He professionally pressure tested everything, and it's all working perfectly. Bob was so polite, asking whether it was okay to work past a certain hour as he wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible, while also respecting our family's privacy. He cleaned all of his work up leaving nothing behind. That summer, I felt in a strange way that Bob became an extension of our family. He was so polite to all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed having him around the house, and completely trusted him. I am so fortunate to have found RLF Heating & Cooling. His reviews were fantastic. We decided to go with Michael and a few days later (before our scheduled installation date) our boiler/heating system completely broke and we had no hot water. He again stopped by and looked it and offered to try to fix it temporarily. We appreciated the offer but we just waited for the scheduled installation date that we had already set. Michael had said it would take 3 days to install and it took 3 days. He arrived on time every day and worked all day in the very hottest of days. His subcontractor/electricians came on the last day and they were polite and on time. We asked them for their business cards in case we needed future electrical work. My $35,000 HVAC, air conditioner & furnace system in an antique house is 4 years old. The furnace works well, but the air conditioner, HVAC & mini split did not work any better than window fans. Casey techs came on a couple of service calls the first year and determined everything was working properly. Yes, the fans worked, but not the coolant. Their contract stipulated a "Casey HVAC 3-Year installation warranty". Last year they ghosted me for a maintenance appointment, but I was unaware they filed for bankruptcy soon afterwards. Thankfully this year I found someone willing to clean up the mess: The mini split system was low on refrigerant with 6 of 10 connections leaking; bad wiring on indoor units. Copper lines inside the house were not fully insulated. This could have caused water damage during summer if the AC ran properly. The compressor in the Trane XR air conditioner failed, as noted in another review, but is still under the manufacturer's warranty and will cost about 5-6 hours of labor to replace. Casey "helped" submit applications for refunds from MassSave, which were denied 15 times before I got a partial refund from what was quoted. Casey was reluctant to provide me the necessary information to do it myself, which I might have been able to do as I have grant writing experience. I got a dozen MassSave denials for the new energy efficient furnace before I gave up. After three years, I'm looking forward to enjoying a functioning system this summer.
