We're first time home owners, so he was very patient in teaching us how to take care of our HVAC. Called another company who sent 2 guys for 3 visits because it just didn't get fixed. They charged us ~$2000 for replacing two things + labor, and the problem still wasn't fixed. At that point I decided to pivot. Went on a local FB page to ask for advice/names, and SSM came highly recommended. I called them on a Sunday and got an actual human in the office! (The other company has an AI assistant who sounds real. It's creepy.) Bruno from SSM came today, did a lot of diagnostic work, and figured out that the problem was electrical. We were charged just $232.50. Bruno took the time to explain things to us, and didn't try to sell us things. The only good thing to come out of this frigid situation is finding South Shore Mechanical. Thank you so much for your kindness and integrity! Don't ever change! Will definitely do business with them again.

We called another plumber to take a look who told us the system was installed incorrectly and the refrigerant is completely drained. It's going to be $3k to fix. We reached out to our contractor who insisted we let Tim take a look. It took days for Tim to even call me. Then he said he'd clear his calendar to take a look. Now it's been 3 days and still haven't heard a word. He doesn't keep his word and doesn't do quality work. Unrelated the reason I'm posting this review but at the time of the install we chose to go with two separate condensers which is more expensive. We came home to find out he'd decided to do one without telling us. Had to cut out part of my closet to do the vent through the second floor. My clothes were thrown all over my bed and most things ruined because of the dust. On top of that no one said a word to us about cost and we had to ask for them to lower the price based on other honest quotes we'd been given. I do not recommend.

I got New Age Plumbing's number from a friend and Alfred was at my house that afternoon to check out the job and he started the following morning. Alfred's quick response made it possible to keep my remodel on schedule. Several months later our hot water heater blew a massive leak at 8 pm on a Saturday, Alfred showed up Sunday morning to install a new heater and haul to old one away. Finally last night the faulty gas valve on the same hot water heater failed and Alfred was here this afternoon replacing the valve, when hot water heater manufacturer was going to make me and my family wait until next week for a repair. I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. I would recommend them 100%

New England Ductless just completed a five day installation of three new Mitsubishi split systems…read moreworking off one condenser in our South Boston loft/condo. It provides primary A/C and supplementary heating for us. Overall, we're very satisfied. The project had some complex aspects that Brian, the sales rep, helped us to think through. The installation crews, under Alvaro and Carlos' leadership, were great. They worked through challenging circumstances (heat, thunderstorm) with the utmost professionalism. All were good, but Carlos, in particular, deserves to be singled out for his problem solving skills, dedication to doing the job well and his keen desire to leave the customer satisfied. Areas of improvement? We found the prices quoted for some "peripheral work" to be exorbitant (e.g. the cost of removing existing ducts and the quote we received for the replacement of our water heater). Also, handoffs between sales and installers, and different daily crews, weren't as polished as they might have been. These are small points. Overall, although "newbies" with our new system, we're delighted with its quiet performance, the freeing up of closet space, the creation of a separate zone for our guest bedroom, the elimination of "industrial" ducts and the features of the Kumo Cloud networking application. Well done, New England Ductless.

As someone previously in the home energy and sustainability field, I get asked often about our heat…read morepumps and I am constantly telling people to avoid this company. NE Ductless installed our heat pumps in 2021 and it's been one problem after another. Our air handler was faulty from the beginning and needed to be replaced immediately, they were not responsive to requests to inspect the system two years later and troubleshoot why it wasn't able to keep up in the winter months, and we subsequently had a subpar service visit from them. I knew I was really done with them when I identified that they used a product in my install that is prone to corrosion and refrigerant leaks, and they refused to do anything unless/until a leak occurs. Now, I've had a major leak into my bedroom from the air handler and it was discovered that there were several things NE Ductless did incorrectly during the install that caused the leak (including an improper joint transition in the drainage line that was kinked and caused the system to back up, drainage parts that hadn't been installed, and a drain pan that was noticeably pitched instead of level as it should have been). The company who came to fix it was really shocked at how poor of an installation it was, and of course these things were not noticed when they came for service less than 2 years prior. When I let NE Ductless know, I got a defensive email back. This company does not stand by its work and its customer service is atrocious. Run, don't walk.
