My friend & I drove an hour to get an ear piercing. We got there exactly at 10 am when they opened. As soon as we walked in a woman greeted us with a not so friendly attitude. Unfortunately my friend did not bring her ID so we were unable to get the piercing done, but the woman behind the counter was not nice at all. Almost like we were unwelcome & such a waste of her time & energy. She rushed us & wanted us out of her hair even when there was not one other customer in the building. I had an earring that I used the rubber backing in order to secure it; the backing solidified and I couldn't get the earring off, which I needed to do in order to get a desperately needed neck x-Ray. I went in today and was treated so professionally and quickly. He understood my nervousness and fear of pain. He was so kind, concerned and gentle. My ear has been sore but he removed the backing with patience, kindness and no pain!!! He was able to keep my earring intact, which I appreciate very much. Loved my experience!! This is definitely a mixed review. As for their piercing services I would rate them at four stars. I think they could improve in preparing you are by letting you know how long the healing process will be before they pierce you. But the piercing process was quick and fairly painless. Piercing accessories in my experience was much different. The front desk/check in staff make you feel that you are a nuisance for asking any questions and any question you ask is treated as a stupid question. Also, I received a piercing there, but they did not have jewelry for my specific piercing? Had some tattoo work done here many times before and had good experiences, but not this particular time. I was going in to get 2 pretty simplistic designs done on my arm. And the artist ( new guy )took 5.5 hours to complete. Not to mention extremely painful, more painful than others I have got in the past. The tattoo(s) look awful. They looks like they are 50 years old and one even got infected. I think this guy is only employed because a family member works of his works there tbh. I ended up having to go to someone else to get a cover up. (This happened 1 year ago btw.) However, the piercer guy (Sir James iis awesome and good at what he does. I went here to get two earlobe piercings that had closed up redone. I walked in on a Saturday around 1:30pm and was in and out by 2:00pm, and the prices for all of their piercings are incredibly reasonable. The piercer was kind and professional, and the piercing process was nearly painless. He noticed that my original piercings weren't even, and asked if I wanted them in their original places or to make the new ones more even, then made sure I was happy with the new placements before going further. As he pierced my ears he explained what he was doing as he was doing it, and I felt totally chill and safe, which is exactly what you want when you're getting holes put in your body. I also have chronic anxiety so I especially appreciated this aspect of the whole experience. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking to get a piercing, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back myself! read more

Yesterday I went to A Body Mod in Medford. The have $20 piercings of almost all piercings, but they are for NORMAL piercings. They also have a menu for other piercing services. They are open for this from 10-5, Wednesday thru Saturday. If you are going to go to get pierced go early. No matter what you are most likely going to wait, for a little while, the earlier you there the better off you'll be. The piercer is great and the the two girl at the desk are great. I would add a photo but it's probably NSFW since I got my nipples done. I was in the midst of a life-changing crisis, so, as you do, I decided to get a new piercing. I've always wanted my nipples pierced and figured, why not just do it? I did a bit of research and then messaged the shop on Facebook. They were pleasant and quick to message me back about pricing and availability. The piercer was out of town so I had to wait but that's not a big deal to me. When he was back in town, I did a walk in and they saw me within fifteen minutes (there were a few people ahead of me). I was nervous but the piercer was amazing and so kind! He talked me through everything and made sure I understood what was going to happen before he got started. He was funny and chatted me up about his wife and son once I mentioned that since I'd breastfed three kids, a pinch and some pressure wasn't going to bother me. An anecdote about kids and biting nipples on purpose goes a long way in comforting me. At least he understood what I meant! The piercing itself took maybe two minutes. He was professional and quick. My piercings are now two weeks old and they don't hurt at all and are healing really well. They bled a bit at first but that wasn't unexpected. $40 for two piercings including jewelry, aftercare, and great customer service. I'd do it again and I'd go to A Body Mod to do it. read more

Love body mod, got my belly button pierced here a few days ago and so far the healing process has been great. No swelling/irritation or anything like that. I went in at 2:30 got pierced at 2:45 walked out the door at 2:48 lmao (on a Saturday!). Super fast, easy, no tears. The guy who pierced me (the owner I think?) was super cool and kind. He's my favorite to come to for easier piercings because he's so fast! I felt the pinch and before i knew it the jewelry was in and it was over. They offer 2 different prices of jewelry to be pierced with for your naval, one is a simple metal piece for $20, the other has a couple rhinestones for $25. I think they pierce with a 14g for naval. I got my helix and forward helix pierced and the actual jewelry wasn't long at all, not big enough to heal properly. 4 days after the piercing my ear became so swollen that it engulfed my piercing. I'm not sure if the hygiene was good enough to ensure a safe and proper healing process. I stopped by 12/31 to get my naval pierced. It was super fast and simple. All I had to do was fill out some paperwork and choose the jewelry that they were going to use for the piercing. All piercings cost $20, but I spent $25 for mine because I chose the more expensive of the jewelry they offered for the procedure. (All piercings come with the jewelry and aftercare for the piercing) Sir James did my piercing and he was great to talk to. I was in and out of there within ten minutes. If I'm ever in the Medford area again, I'd most definitely come back for another piercing. The place is very zen and clean. What at first simply started as a place where a few of us went to get something pierced quickly turned into a place that kept a group connected through college when they were home. 'A Body Mod' became a place where we could have fun, joke around, share decisions, excitement, nervousness, kindness and love. The piercer and owner, James, always made sure we were comfortable and felt safe while getting pierced. He made sure we knew we were tough as hell and probably tougher than any boy. We felt empowered when getting pierced, like we could join together in this ritual experience that shared our sense of pride. We shared our love of piercings, decision making, and acceptance with each other while at 'A Body Mod'. A piercing location quickly turned into a symbol of this friend groups' connection and love for each other. The shop is clean, quick, professional, and comfortable. We are never in there for more than 5 minutes per person, though we wish we could hang out with James as one of our pal at a hang out. From the bottom of my heart--I could never recommend 'A Body Mod' enough. James has done 5 of my piercings and never fails to amaze me with how quickly he gets the needle through and how painless it always is. He always answers any questions you have, and if you're nervous, he addresses all concerns and makes sure you feel comfortable with whatever you decide to do! Even if that means not getting the piercing. Hes super approachable and so are the other workers at his shop. I got my septum and ears done here. The experience itself was fine, and the piercer was very nice and explained what he was doing as he was doing it. However, I do not feel like I was totally prepared for the healing process. I was told to clean the piercing for two weeks then stop, but the piercing aftercare sheet said to clean them for the entire healing process (which would probably be a couple months for my septum). Two conflicting pieces of advice! I went with the "two weeks then stop" option. I got my piercings done ~4 months ago and they are still not totally healed. I don't know if it's the metal I was given or what. My ears ended up getting really infected and my septum still hurts to move around. The "studs" I was given for my ears were also way too long and kept getting caught on everything all the time (which doesn't feel great on a healing piercing!). Overall, the experience wasn't bad but there are definitely things I'm unhappy with. read more

I love this place! James had pierced my nose last year and since then I've gotten 7 more piercings from him all in my ears but man he was super quick and professional. Opened everything right in front of me and made sure that I was ready and comfortable. I don't trust many people to pierce me but I trust him for my piercings. They barely hurt, he does them super quick, and he gives you cute studs! I even took my 2 sisters to get pierced one whom wanted her ears pierced but has a fear of needles and blood and would pass out but he pierced her so quick she was just fine :). I've had my nostril, septum, nipples, and belly button all done by him and they've all healed amazingly. He does get busy some days but it is so worth the wait. I got my nipples pierced here on my birthday and he pierced them with a curved bar, that was a size smaller than the normal jewelry size so I could wear any jewelry from stores. Yes I could order some but no piercing should be under a 16 below the face. You're nipples cannot heal if you have a CURVED bar in them!! I've had several piercings all over and know how to treat them but my nipples never fully healed after a year or so. Please for your own good get them pierced somewhere else ! I even asked him they were supposed to be so small and he just shook it off.. waste of 40 bucks :-( read more
