Biker Beware!!!! Cleaned and rebuilt a set of carbs for me. The carbs leaked and the bike would not run after their work. They REFUSED to take the bike or back up their work. Took my bike in to get a quote to replace my petcock valve that was leaking and get a new battery. They called me back and gave me a quote that I didn't want to spend on the old bike but they charged me $25 when I went to pickup the bike. When I asked what the charge was for he said it was for 15 minutes of labor to lookup the part numbers. Crazy!!! They did jump start the bike though hence the second star. read more

I just had to review this place after I read what a couple of other people wrote. First of all, the customer service at this place is second to none. The owners are just as friendly and helpful as the staff, and they don't make you feel like an idiot for asking them what might be a stupid question normally. Their pricing is definitely better than a dealership, and the two bikes I've had worked on there have always come back in pristine condition. The guy that answered the phone was a prick. Cut me off mid question when I asked about a simple tire change. Said they don't work on scooters. I mean it's only a tire change. It's a simple request I thought. I have 4 other bikes, 2 Kawasaki dual sport, a ZX-6R and an Africa Twin. I'm always looking for an honest reliable mechanic. This guy cut me off and wanted off the phone quickly. Guess they don't need any more business right now but after the Summer I bet that changes. needed service on Sat 6/18/16. They didn't answer phone on multiple attempts. But with a small operation/staff, it's not unusual to be too busy to catch every call. So I drove my bike, knowing it would get fixed and I would have a safe ride home. Made it there safe, I was happy. However, to my surprise the lot was empty,no employee's,no customers.They were closed. So I checked the following to learn why they closed during business hrs: (1) website (visited website abikersgarage.com) - No mention about being closed, and no events on the calendar (2) voice mail (heard only generic voice mail msg they've had for long time) - Not helpful (3) facebook (visited facebook page) Nothing alerting customers about random closure So, I don't know if they are out of business, or; closed for a road trip/vacation. or: temp closed due to slow business. or: closed due to illness impacting multiple employees. It sucks to make it to shop during posted business hrs, only to find they are closed. I don't want to paint them as unprofessional, but to add a note/comment to facebook or change your company voice mail takes literally SECONDS! Would I return? well bob has a knack to completely ignore someone who enters the shop. He sometimes will act as if you are not there to the point standing 3 feet in front of him and looking into his eyes, and he will behave as if he is alone, it doesn't get more rude than that. And when he finally acknowledges you, he can be very patronizing, Fortunately trenton is usually at the counter, and although his beard has grown much over time, his ego hasn't, he remains reasonable, always friendly and receptive to customers comments/concerns.. METRICS BEWARE!!!! Was impressed with their staff and service at first, but my opinion quickly changed when I brought my bike in for a snapped bolt. Perhaps they just hate metrics, but they broke a temporarily glued turn signal from the previous owner and just left it hanging there and scratched the hell out of the bolts and handlebar mount they removed to get at the snapped bolt. Sure, the signal was previously broken, but to re-break it and just leave it hanging there was simply unprofessional! They said nothing about the damage and were hesitant to do anything about it when I showed it to them. I won't risk taking my bike back there again or give them any additional business where there are plenty of good, reputable online parts suppliers. read more

Earlier this year I bought a 2006 VTX, took it to Trent to check it over and put new tires on it. He took the time to discuss how I like to ride, how long I've been riding and made suggestions. He didn't try to sell me the most expensive tires, just what he thought I needed. On another occasion, my spanner wrench that I just bought from Motion Pro wasn't fitting my shocks and I rode up after closing time not realizing what time they closed. Two guys came out...took a look...took my spanner wrench..ground it down to where it would fit and explained how to adjust the bike and when to do so. I tried to offer them some money for their time and effort...wouldn't take it. I'm taking the bike back to have it re-jetted. read more

I went to this shop because they where close to the house to get a pretty standard part for my new Harley. The salesman was extremely nice but the price was twice what even the Harley dealer wanted. I asked the salesman how they are able to compete with other retailers. That's when the salesman turned and said cheap isn't cool and cool isn't cheap. I was shocked to say the least. But ripping people off is absolutely not cool. Maybe that is how they will stay in business for a short time. It won't take long for customers to get tired of being price gouged. I don't see them staying in business long with that kind of motto. read more

I have taken my VTX1300R to the Biker's Garage when service was required for three years. Regardless of service required I have found the staff informative, service oriented, and well qualified. Price of parts and service is competitive with any major dealer shop I have used and I prefer the smaller more personal attention available at this facility. I might add that I have stopped by the shop on several occasions when I had questions of varying sort with no intention of buying anything and the staff has always been most helpful. read more

Extremely expensive and worst customer service. Don't take your bike there if you don't have an American Express! It took them almost two weeks to do a four hour job (or that's what they said when I gave them the bike). Two weeks later and 10 hours billed without even consulting with me, I left the place with wires hanging from t bike. Yes, with wires sticking out, looked like if they put it together 30 mins before I showed up..... I had to take it back t next day so they could finish the job right.... Terrible experience.... This is my personal opinion. This place is a joke. 1st time I went to get my brakes, fluids and clutch cable done. Took 4 days longer because they had workers call in, didn't replace the brake fluid so I had to do that when I got home, brakes weren't done right and battery was dead when I went to pick up. They had to charge it so I got to wait a extra 20 minutes. For laughs called a few other shops to see the how charges compared, average price was about $300 less. 2nd time I bought a new bike and needed a inspection sticker ASAP, easy enough, nope. Went in, employees all in the shop area talking, looked at me and went about talking, I opened and shut the door again so they could here a customer was there, looked again and nothing, waited 10 minutes and left, awesome service. I live in town and rode my bike to there shop to get a back tire, nothing special just a basic tire, adjust the carb and find out why my battery wouldn't charge. When they got back to me i was told it would cost $3000 for valve work, a starter and new carb because they didnt want to fix the linkage on the existing one. Thats with out the back tire. When I asked how much to just install the back tire I was told $300. The tire i asked for is only $70 in most every catalog or website ive seen. The person I spoke with on the phone talked to me like a child and preceded to tell me my bike wasnt worth fixing. I've been working on motorcycles and cars for the past 20 years and decided to let somebody else handle this one because I had alittle extra $ but not $3000 for minor repairs no less and with out the tire. These guys are way over priced and on a mission to take the average weekend warrior for every dollar. The bike thats not worth fixing WAS my daily driver but now it wont even start. I took no i rode a running bike up there and had to bring it home on a trailer. read more

zero rating is still too high for this place. A buddy just spent $2500 here for the crappiest, slowest work I have ever seen. Wanted fluids changed and clutch adjusted. Also wanted Shotgun shock installed and bike detailed. Took them 2 1/2 weeks to get the shock ordered and then 5 more days to get the grommets as the old ones were shot.(ordered from a Harley dealer in the Grand Prairie area) I called a different dealer who believes in customer service and they put them in their overnight order free of charge. After all the parts came in they started the work. when he picked up the bike got one block away and the oil cap blew off with oil spewing down the right side of the bike. took it back and they said oh must have overfilled it... Hmmm mechanics who don't know how to check oil levels in the bikes they service....got the bike back just in time to leave for Sturgis so no time to inspect it... found out once unloaded that the tire had a gash on the right sidewall and a scuff on the left. Great time to buy a new tire. Remember the clutch adjustment???? well it would not release fully once hot. I removed the derby cover there to replace with a new one he purchased and oil pours out the primary...... WAYYYYYY overfilled... also the gasket ( with directions on it to put a specific side TOWARD primary..... guess where it pointed,,,,,,, yep cant even read apparently..) Remember the detailing???? and the oil spewed from inept service???? yep turns out the bike wound up detailed on the left and oil sorta wiped of on the right... Rear brake rotor and pads drenched in oil makes stopping a little dicey at best... Was going to speak to them in Sturgis since they were there but wasn't able to.... He went back today and all he got was cussed out by the owner since he had the gall to ask for tire replacement cost.. Yep nothing but customer oriented there... I had recommended this shop to him from recommendations on a mailing list I am on... Never again..... I wouldn't recommend this shop to put air in a bicycle tire as they would probably blow it up.....AND say it wasYOUR fault... Stay away from this place like the plague. Good to know they wont get any more of his money... @ 2-3k a year..... read more

we took our bike in was told that they would get to it the next day, two weeks later we was told that they was waiting on parts they "all ready had"... went an got the bike so we could fix it ourselves an they had all the bolts loses on it...i guess they don't care about biker safety... i guess they was upset that we was picking it up early... but i wouldn't tell my worst enemy to go there.... in my opinion they are a hazard to the biker community... so please do not take your bike to these yuppie want a be biker... read more

Absolutely pathetic! I called these guys to work on my Indian that had a stuck float in the carburetor. They said it should take a few days. Four WEEKS later after receiving no communication I called. They said that along with the carburetor the ignition was bad. I told them it ran just fine before the carburetor issue. They said they weren't getting fire to the front cylinder so it had to be the ignition. I said o.k. and decided it must be a coincidence. They said give them a week. Two weeks later I called. Left 2 messages. No return call. I finally drove up there and they said that the spark plug wires needed replacing. So was it the plug wires or the ignition? They also said that the battery cable was melted to the battery. Sounds like to me it was a plug wire all along and that they fried the wire trying to start it. They said the starter shaft also needed to be realigned which they did. I picked it up and rode it home. I noticed something on my jeans which turns out to be fork oil. So now all the fork oil is in my garage. I went to start it today and the starter now spins but is so far out of alignment it won't turn the motor over. Before they worked on it the battery cable was fine. The forks were fine. It started and ran fine. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I now am out over $1,000 and have a bike that is not ridable. It will now go to ANOTHER shop and see what's going on. These guys have not heard the last from me. read more
