Frank is an excellent mechanic and got my 99 Softail squared away and running great. Definitely recommend this shop for older Evo Harleys. Prices are totally fair and he provides a written estimate for his work before he turns a wrench so you'll know what you are getting into. Great shop! read more

Frank was wonderful to work with. I brought in my bike, explained what's wrong, and left it with him. When I came back to pickup my bike, he also changed the oil, repaired and made minor tweaks to issues that were caused from the previous owner of the bike(I'm new to the riding scene and bought mine used) all on the house. 10/10 highly recommend this business read more

Dropped off my 20 year old ATV with a long list of issues. Frank got it running as well as fixed several things needed. So now its got a new lease on life thanks to Frank. Great shop reasonable prices read more

I lost some bolts on my BMW GS, Frank was very helpful and gave me a couple bolts free of charge, he refused payments and seemed genuinely happy to help. Thank you for you help even though I didn't end up a paying customer! Great guy. read more

I have two bikes that are notoriously difficult to work on. I had been turned away by a couple of other shops and finally one recommended Frank. He got the carb job on the first done for less than half what I expected to pay. The second bike is in the shop now and he's been straight forward with what it needs and his recommendations (we found the fuel tank is rusty). The best advice I can give is be patient. He pretty much works by himself but he is thorough and does the job right the first time. I don't usually trust mechanics and I would rather do the work myself but some things are just beyond my skill level and I will never hesitate to take a bike to Frank. read more

Hmmm, i have inquired about work to this shop twice now for different reasons/bikes. The first inquiry i never got a response. Ended up doing my fork seals myself. The second inquiry i made i did get a short unclear response from frank v. When asked to clarify, no response . I get the impression they are busy enough to not care about getting more business, maybe. Dunno for sure. But right now i dont feel as tho they want my business. Why would a shop advertise insurance rebuilds/repairs as a service but not have tools to check if a frame is straight?? Makes a guy wonder about the shop's competency. read more

1994 XLH883HUG Harley Davidson Sportster aka Azúl: I contacted Monkey Wrench based on positive Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. Firstly, I wrench my bike myself to save money unless I don't have the tools/skills to do it. When I do go to a mechanic for things beyond my skill, I expect the same care as I give my machine and just like a tattoo shop, I look for cleanliness and order. There is no cage so taking care of my horse is paramount to my safety. Now I am very loyal to my mechanics, unless they have disappointed me a couple of times, and this is why I sought out Monkey Wrench. That being said, this is a family business. Frank is the owner/mechanic with his wife sometimes in the office, but it is mostly just him from those times I met him, but I"m sure he has an assistant for big jobs. He has a good size shop with plenty of room and lots of bikes he works on and sells, and it is clean and orderly; no tools all over the place and he has a good stock of shop supplies. There are several bike lifts and he has a back wall with heavy presses and like equipment. You can tell this shop has been invested in. Frank listened as I told him about my bike issues and it was a positive, comfortable conversation. Frank rides, too, so he understands who better knows the sounds and feel of a ride than its master? He made me feel comfortable leaving my ride to his care. Now most people wouldn't know how important this is to someone who wrenches and rides every day, but it is a big deal. In return, I did not pester or keep calling, but waited for him to contact me. I would recommend to anyone to please just leave a message and he will return your calls. There's nothing you can do but wait and leave the man to concentrate on your ride. My clutch spring had grenaded out and broke the cast hub on the primary so I had already purchased a billet Diamond Terminator clutch hub kit prior to contacting Monkey Wrench about trailering my bike over. The primary chain needs to be removed and the hub pressed out and a new one pressed in. Let's just say my bike had a complete clutch system failure from the clutch cable to the clutch spring to the clutch ring inside with brass rivets to the clutch hub. Frank was able to buy the aftermarket cable and get it overnighted for a really low price which he only charged for cost and he had other parts available which he also charged at a lower price than I could at J&P cycles, which I use to buy all my parts. Overall, he did a great job making sure everything was to OEM specs and the clutch feels better than it ever had before it went kaput. He was efficient, fair and honest and I paid a lower price for everything, parts and labor, than I could have hoped for. I told Frank, "Don't take this personally, but I hope I don't see you for a long time! haha!" We both had a good laugh, shook hands, and parted ways. Needless to say, I found my mechanic and I will bring back my business to Monkey Wrench if I ever need it again and I will recommend this shop to anyone who asks me. -Rene read more

Frank was great. Did what he said he would do for a very fair price and my bike has never run better. I have never taken a bike in for repair I have always done it myself. I could not figure this issue out and needed help. Frank had great reviews and now I can say for sure they are real. I now have someone I trust to work on my bike. Thank you Frank! read more

These guys are awesome. Trustworthy and actually care. I took my Harley in for a rear tire exchange, and they gave me a fair price and also found some other vital things that directly affected my safety on the bike. I will be back. read more

I wanted to eliminate the heavy, hot & restrictive exhaust on my BMW RS. After buying an Akrapovic titanium can Frank fabricated a new stainless steel connecting pipe from the header. Both the fit & finish are excellent and Frank was great to work with from the very first call and really seemed to care about the work he was doing. The price was also very reasonable. Forget the dealers, I'd recommend Monkey Wrench for all your bike work. read more

They sure did make good money off of my little nothings. Taken to the shop twice. $500 the first time $200 the second. I seriously feel cheated by them because now my bike doesn't even turn on! The first time they poked a hole in my gas tank and found out when I was filling it up! They replaced the tank and I asked for more changes since they MISSED a few. I feel like they only made my bike sound better, not run more efficiently. Just because I'm a girly girl doesn't mean I'm an idiot. Well perhaps because I even went back a second time. Scams. read more

Frank is the bike mechanic you've been looking for! Extremely reliable and passionate bike mechanic with great motorbike electrical & mechanical knowledge. I walked into his shop with a bunch of after-market parts packages to have it mounted...1week later my bike is ready to roll, all fine & dandy! Very satisfied with the service. If you haven't dialed his number yet, stop scrolling for further reviews, and reach out to him. No further bike-mechanic search needed! read more

I'm pretty happy with my experience at Monkey Wrench Cycles. I had apes installed on my bike with internal wiring, and thought they did a nice job. The price was reasonable as well. They also showed integrity, by calling and asking if my front fender had already had a previous nick in it (it did), and offering to fix it if they had done it. My one suggestion would be for them to tour the bike for nicks/scratches beforehand to head off any potential problems. I'd go back for other services. read more

Had a bad stator and verified by Frank whom was very flexible in hours in accepting my motorcycle at his operating hours. He is upfront in what he would do and means to resolve all that entails at hand (notifying me of an oil leak that most likely caused the stator coils to be burned out). The invoice was good and reasonable for the work entailed (my bike is at a full good AC generating able state). I also had a compression test and leak down test. He gave me a good additional perspective to what my options entail. I am definitely going to consider his shop in the future. I like that he gave a considerate cost and timeframe of the work from his end being a small shop owner. His pricing of the fixed stator and all things to put my bike back in a good state of charging was good and reasonable and things were put back in place. read more

I brought Frank my 09 Road King to have the chain drive cams replaced with gear driven cams. Frank recommended S&S 551 cams and I couldn't be happier after riding the bike. Fast turn around and a fair price. Monkey Wrench will be my go to shop from now on. read more

These guys are real stand up people; bought a ZX-14 last Saturday, checked it all out, paid cash and off I went. Get it home and inspect it Sunday, come to find out there's a major crack in the frame, called up Frank and let him and know and sent him a picture of it. Brought it back on Monday, he inspects it and refunds me in full with no hassle. You won't see any other dealer offer that much understanding and service. I knew when I purchased the bike that he hasn't had much time to inspect it so I fully believe he didn't know about it but he made good on his offer to refund me without any issues. A+ ethics and morals at this place, you won't regret it. read more

I have a Black 06 GSXR 600 and was looking to get my back tire replaced. My tire is pretty common. For the business Frank is running, he has a lot on his shoulders and could benefit from inventory management, however, Frank's customer service skills put him over any other shop in this area and the work is solid. I've been riding on my tire for over a month and everything's great. I'll definitely be back in the future. Frank also took the time to just chat about the bike and give me some useful insight to things that I could do with my bike on my own. People could be so lucky to be going here. Thanks gents. P.S. To give you an idea of other shops in the area, there's a shop in Burleson that actually made fun of my bike because I ride modded race fairings (They're Shark Skinz and are used by virtually everyone in the racing community). That shop in Burleson would have suggested that I ride with a new set of OEM's. read more

Bought a 2007 Boulevard C50 a few months back from someone and when I started having little issues like stalling while idle and I felt like there was just a little loss of power I decided to take it in for a tune up, as it also smelled like it was burning rich. Frank quoted me the best price in the area by far for a tune up, so I took it in to get the oil change, spark plugs, etc and happened to mention the idling issue as well. He suggested it get a valve adjustment after going over the bike and while I did have to fork over so more cash it was still very reasonably priced and he made sure it was something I wanted to do before doing it. I gave the OK and expected to pick up my bike the following week. I get a call the next day and he's already done! Which was great cause I was really itching to get back on my bike. Had my friend drop me off and I picked it up, had a chat with Frank, he and his wife are awesome people. Rode my bike home and WOW what a difference that valve adjustment made. I could tell from the get go it was healthier just from the engine sound, and my friend made the same comment. The power I expected was there, and it didn't even come close to stalling while idle like it did before, rpms were smooth and consistent. I'll definitely be bringing my bike and any future bikes here for all future repairs. Thanks Frank! read more

I'm really glad I decided on this place after calling all over town for pricing on repairs for two of my Honda Ruckus'. The owner was honest and very knowledgable on the work I needed. He turned my bikes on, diagnosed the issues immediately after hitting the throttle and I came back next day to all issues fixed... I'm definitely recommending him to my buds and bringing my motorcycle in when needed. Honest, affordable and most important of all... My bikes run better than new. 2 thumbs up! read more

Honest repairs, fair prices. Frank went the extra mile to make sure my bike was ready for the trip.

Brought my GXSR 1000 to Frank at Monkey Wrench, he did a outstanding job on the new mods that where installed. Will Recommend

Thanks again Frank for awesome and quick repair on my bike, anyone looking for awsome bike shop this is the place to go,good prices and excellent service.i had my bike in 3 different shop for carburetor work and no shop could get it right until Frank got to work his magic read more

Called twice about bringing my bike in for work. I don't have a trailer so they offered their service to come get it. First call they advised they would call the next day. They didn't. That next afternoon I called and they scheduled pick up for 930a this morning. No show, no call which left me hanging. I'm glad they have so much business that they don't need me. I decided on another shop while on my way to find out why I had to work so hard to get MW to take my money. read more

I found this place by just doing a google search I didn't even read the reviews I just really wanted my motorcycle fixed and I was really searching for a good place near me and it popped up I called and was greeted by a nice gentleman by the name of Frank over the phone. his demeanor was very nice which put me at ease especially when I started acting just like a female trying to describe what was wrong with the motorcycle I'm surprise that he didn't start laughing at me over the phone he was sincerely trying to understand what I was saying I sent him pictures of what I was speaking of although it didn't quite help the fact that he was so into trying to figure out what was wrong and even trying to diagnose what was wrong with it over phone is what really sold me to take my motorcycle to him. I took it and let me just say don't let the location fool you at all this man here knows what he's doing. he called me and told me what was wrong he informed me on contributing factors that may be a issue down the road he told me the turnaround time on when it would be done and called me a week ahead of what I thought and told me it was done! this man really does know what he's doing I was super impressed he also looked around for other potential Issues. It really made me feel like he had my best interest on the road as far as safety goes being that I'm a female it is really made me feel good and when I went to go pick the bike up he show me the faulty parts and told me what was wrong and he put it in a way to even I could understand it even showed me two more potential things that I need to address in the future as far as the chain and the sprockets that made me feel really good thaT is what made me know that I've found my mechanic I honestly can say I won't take it to anybody else. he's a really nice guy his demeanor was great I can tell he's a very humble person and I can't see my bike going to anybody else but him thank you Mr Frank from a very satisfied customer read more

A few weeks ago I was looking for a place that could give me an inspection, and also fix a taillight. I noticed the spectacular reviews, and decided to check them out. Not only were Frank and his partner extremely nice and accommodating, they had me fixed up in under an hour! Tip-top place, and I will definitely be not only recommending this shop in the future, but have moved all my business to them as well! Been here twice- once for mechanical and once for cosmetics. Frank is a great dude and runs a great garage. Takes time to explain things, is never condescending or impatient, and always gives me all possible options so I can decide what's best for my bike and my budget. This shop is awesome. They have done tires for me on my 1000RR and the work and customer service are outstanding. The lady that works there is very nice. They even had the tires in stock that I needed for my CBR. read more

Just a really bad experience there... I would never go back to this place. I had some carb work and wanted them to set the idle. When they called me to tell me my bike was ready. I had to pay the bill before giving me the bike or allowing me to evaluate the repairs. When I started up the bike It was in the same condition as I had given it to them for repair.. When I started the bike up andgot it home the carbs overflowed. They wanted to blame it on my gas tank having rust in it. My tank doesn't have any rust in it. read more

I had a great experience with Monkey Wrench Cycles. I bought and older bike, a 1997 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, that had been sitting in a garage for several years. They picked up the bike took it in and cleaned the carbs, the tank and replaced the plugs and all the fluids as well. They also replaced the clutch and got me a great deal on 2 new tires. Since picking my bike up I have dropped by the shop a couple of times for some minor questions and the owner, Frank has always been very helpful even showing me how to make some simple repairs myself. I am completely satisfied with the work performed the time it took to perform the work. Their customer service has gone above and beyond my expectations. Monkey Wrench Cycles is the only place that will work on my bike. read more
