I have been using Sunrise's Caregiving training center over the past 12 years on and off for…read morevarious certifications. The workers are always very knowledgable and have first hand experience being caregivers themselves, which greatly helps when it comes to questions. I recently came in for orientation to become a Sunrise employee and am impressed with the cleanliness and presentation of the building - inside and out! They have painted the rooms so that its not just LED lighting and white walls that give headache vibes. Instead, it feels professional and comfortable. I had to spend 5 hours here on this recent visit and look forward to the 75 hour training where 4 full days will be spent in person at this location. There are parking spots on both sides of the building but you are able to go from one side to the other if you park on the wrong side. There's a kitchenette with coffee, water, and a place to store lunch but I always recommend bringing your own and not bringing anything you need to heat up. This way everything is easy for you and you can maximize your break time without having to hassle over meal preparation. I highly recommend Sunrise if you want to become a caregiver, and they do have internal pay rates once you are certified. The classes make sense, and are hybrid so 4 of the days are in person, the rest are online at home. It's a great way to get certified and allows you to start work quickly while being fully prepared.

We were impressed enough to get on their waiting list for the future. The grounds are impressive for those people who enjoy recreating outdoors. The interior of what we call the "4 plexes", which are independent living, are absolutely beautiful and spacious. We have not yet tried their cuisine but have heard it's terrific. As a continuing care community, WB operates differently than most other senior housing places, so it's up to us to check out all the differences. They no longer offer skilled nursing or rehab as of this date, though they have a close relationship to a nearby rehab location. Despite being operated by a church organization WB appears to be welcoming to all. I checked out their Board of Directors and was really impressed with the depth of experience it represented. A friend and I have been touring a lot of senior housing complexes over the past several years and WB really stands out.

My mom was admitted to the assisted living for medically complex. $11,000 per month. My mom's care could have been covered by Medicaid. I asked for a discount on the remaining balance given the wrong info that was provided by their new marketing person. This was refused. This is not a nursing home with nurses on site 24/7. As a result, we experienced delays in medication changes. This was not disclosed or explained. As a retired RN, I advocated for my mom. At times, this was met with resistance. However, ultimately, the communication and care improved during my mom's last days before her death.

Joe did my initial evaluation and first few session, then alternated through a few different therapists throughout the course of my treatments. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and treated me like a person. My sessions were challenging and more physically demanding than I had expected, but they were always there to make sure I was successful. I had developed a secondary issue which made some days harder and they gave me some tips and exercises to help with that too!

As far as a nursing home and assisted living center Josephine home is A+ rating. We have had our…read moreparents there for over 5 years. They started out in the 2 bedroom suites and then when mom passed, dad moved to a studio suite. He is in a wheelchair and needs assistance so that was all a very easy transition for him. If he later needs more care it is added and we know that he can go to the full care area later on. The thing I notice the most is that it doesn't have the terrible smells that other homes have. (The nursing home smell) That is important, cuz it means they are clean. We appreciate that. So we are happy to know that he's getting good care there. Especially with the COVID-19. They have been very careful and safe with the residents there. We can now schedule an appointment to see him outside for 30 minutes. That is nice.
