The steak was tender and cooked well, and it came with condiments like jus and steak sauce, which added to the experience. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience with room for improvement in flavor depth.

The two ladies were just talking off on the side and texting on their phone all in plain sight. I understand there may be downtime in any shift but it lowers the vibe of the dining experience and also our soft drinks took forever to come to our table. just a Coke and just a sprite - also no offer for refills or asking if we wanted other drinks. the food itself took a LONG time to come out - only two entrees, no appetizers or fancy platters. once the food did come out I was surprised that everything was SO salty. also weird it's auto served with ketchup and bbq sauce. My steak had a lot of gristle on it and typically when the waitress would check in how things were I'd either mention it or they would apologize for the cut - but neither of the servers came by. I also didn't want to risk waiting another half hour for mediocre food and service. a family came in and they were seated right near us even though the restaurant was empty so that was also weird seating. when our meals were over and plates taken away eventually, we waited again for 10 minutes for someone to come by so we could get our bill. it's a weird layout because it's like the restaurant wants to be boujie but the service and food just don't meet the criteria. Needless to say it was not a good birthday dinner and I wouldn't recommend it.

We arrived before 7, put our name in and saw we were not far down the list. We were told the wait would be at least 1/2 hour. Then we saw a group of 11 was waiting before us. They do not have tables for more than 4, so tables need to be put together and cleared that become available next to each other. After an hour we thought surely it would be our turn. We saw 2 tables that were empty next to each other that could be perfect for our group of 6. We then watched as no one cleaned it for over 20 minutes. We asked the 'bouncer' about it, and he said 'I can't tell them how to do their job'. (I guess he's not allowed to help clean tables either?!) There needs to be someone just cleaning tables and bringing water etc to make this place run smoothly. Finally we sat down after waiting over 1.5 hours. Our waitress seemed surprised we wanted to order food right away! Then another hour until the food came as there was a private party and the party of 11 ahead of us jamming up the kitchen. Eating so late is not our usual routine so I was not the happiest but as least we had lots of time to catch up with our friends! Not sure I will return on a Friday, but earlier in the week with 2-4 people is good. Food is Always great though and the prices are good too even for drinks. For food we got: :: kurkure sliders - these came with either paneer or aloo tiki. We got 2 with paneer and 1 with aloo tiki and I thought the aloo tiki one had more flavour compared to paneer. Since the paneer was a block of cheese, I don't think it soaked up the flavours that well. :: Fiery cheese pull - I had seen this dish all over Instagram so I had to get it and the cheese pull was real!! But also the taste was amazing, it had heat but not too much where you needed to chug water. :: butter chicken mac & cheese - this was good as well! Most recently, hubby and I went with a group of friends and coworkers to the tavern for dinner. I will admit the parking lot isn't great and on the smaller side. We managed to see someone leaving and grabbed their spot. Some of our friends had to park quite a bit further away and walk over. It was also a hotter/more humid summer day and we ended up sitting on the patio. Unfortunately it felt more like an enclosed patio and by the end of the night it was quite the contrast to the icy cold air conditioned tavern interior. The servers tried their best to keep us hydrated with pitchers of water... but this may be the rare time I say skip the patio in the summer. Now to focus on the more positive aspects. I had the Tavern Cheeseburger and my husband ultimately decided on the Philly Cheesesteak. My cheeseburger was a solid standard. Nice patty, melted cheese and didn't skimp on the tomatoes, lettuce, etc. The Philly Cheeseteak was a huge portion that hubby barely finished and it looked cheesy/oozy good (and it was, or at least the small bite I took. Service was good, food was solid. I liked the ambiance of a more "up-scale" neighbourhood pub. Just make sure you consider sitting inside (in the AC) on a hot summer's day.
