If you want to be an unpaid project manager as a customer and constantly nag these incompetent fools to do their job, this is the company for you. This is a case of "you get what you pay for." As a prospective client, the first estimate was canceled bc the guy, Tyler, ran out of time. Fine, but then they suggested times to reschedule that I already told them I was unavailable. When Tyler initially came out, I was getting quotes on a bathroom remodel and entire new flooring -- would've been a costly job for them to do. However, in speaking with the guy, it was clear he was out of his depth about bathroom work. I had to call Anthony numerous times to to get the quote bc there was no follow through. I decided to hire a different contractor for the bath bc I had zero trust that they knew what they were doing. Mind you, I had to school Febe on local permitting regulations bc they clearly had no clue that the bathroom would need a permit with plumbing and electric being altered. So I decided they can at least do the flooring bc it's less complicated. Well, Tyler failed to measure the entire area I told him I wanted new flooring, so he had to come out a second time. A&S failed to ever provide the second quote and failed to ever provide a plan drawing needed by HOA. Needless to say, I dodged a bullet and I'm happily not working with them. Their loss. Avoid this place at all costs --- they'll waste your time and it's endless headaches dealing with these clowns. read more

This company is a contract blind installer for Blinds.com. The installer arrived at the end of his appointment time..unhappy with the job to be done. After verbalizing his frustration/anger he called the company.Part of the job was to remove the existing blinds which he did not want to do. The existing blinds were removed. The new blinds were poorly installed..so close to the window that it was very difficult to raise/lower them. Blinds.com customer service was not very helpful (C Crump) but another customer service rep helped with a solution. Today we cancelled A&S Floors and our independent hire reinstalled the blinds like they should have been initially. A&S Floors would not get my business. read more

I just had 2 bathrooms tiled. I didn't see the reviews prior to the job being done. I was quite surprised because my experience with the install was great! It was a 3-day project and the level of detail was perfect. I really enjoyed working with Enrique and will definitely call them again when I get to my kitchen floor! He would always check with me if there was a question and gave me options. I trusted his judgment and it was the best thing to do because the work was really well done. The only criticism is with the scheduling...when the schedule got changed in the morning I was failed to be contacted so I had to call them. A&S did the carpet installation in my home June, 2018 for carpet I purchased through Lowe's. When I initially found out that A&S was going to do the installation I was scared. I had read all the negative reviews and then called Lowe's. Even though Lowe's had already shipped the carpet to A&S I was ready to pull the plug and pay for it to be shipped to another company to install. The other company, that Lowe's used, didn't have any reviews so I was concerned there as well. Was I going from bad to something worse? The Lowe's rep convinced me to stay with A&S based on his years of personal experience with them. I was hesitant but moved forward. Based on the mixed reviews, some good and some bad, I was prepared to insist on requesting only those installers that were mentioned in the good reviews. I called them to book an installation time. Initially they said they could schedule me the coming weekend. Then after looking up my "file" they changed their plans and said, no we will schedule you for later because we want to use a specific crew. I can only guess that my threat to pull the carpet installation business from them had raised a red flagged. They weren't just going to put any crew on my installation. On the day of the installation Rafael, Gabriel and Nester came to do the installation. They were very professional and detail oriented. I had a particularly challenging square patterned carpet. They pointed out to me, when they were doing their planning in the driveway, that the carpet was not exactly square. Since the pattern on the carpet is square it would be noticeable against the square walls if not perfectly aligned. They said they would do their best to align it. When it was all done they did an excellent job. Detailing to the edges mating to the hardwood flooring, alignment to the walls, carpet to carpet seam, all was perfect (couldn't see it at all). They pointed out a crawlspace hatch I didn't even know about inside a closet and asked if I wanted it accessible. They cut a piece of carpet for the crawlspace hatch. It too was well matched and hidden relative to the rest of the carpet. See attached photos of finished carpet. So overall excellent work but I would recommend insisting on only using the more seasoned veterans (experts) on their team such as Rafael, Gabriel and Nester. read more

A&S were the installers used by LL flooring. The workers showed up on time, worked very hard, were thorough and they completed the job quickly and with very good results. This job was a living room with laminate flooring and baseboards. Everything went very smoothly and the workers were obviously experienced and good at what they were doing. read more

These guys proved other contractors who couldn't work on our floors wrong and did an excellent job. We were told the job was not possible and these guys just did it. No complains, no complications every step of the way made sure we were happy. Enrique and his crew did great for our home. Tiled floors throughout. They worked with large format polished porcelain tiles laid out in grid style. Wasn't an easy job but they did fantastic and Enrique will make sure you are happy before he leaves. This company appears to be the designated contractor for LL flooring as well as floor and decor, for that reason I contacted them. They are aggressive about calling and scheduling an appointment. While in the store, a sales person at LL flooring said that installing laminate would run about $2.50 per square foot. So I decided to go ahead and book the appointment. The measurement took the longest time compared to other companies, in that sense maybe they are quite careful when it comes to measurements. However, the price was shocking, it turned out to be over $10 per square foot just for the labor and by far the most expensive of the quotes that I received. I regret booking the appointment because it took a long time to complete the appointment and of course the price was way too expensive! read more

I got stuck with these people from buying my floor from LL flooring. They left my entry way like this saying there is nothing that can be done as they threshold is too low. The issue came about when they pulled entry tile that shouldn't have been touched. I have not found one person who said this is right and now I get no reply back from them or LL Flooring. We bought our hardwood floors through Lowe's and they used A and S Floors for the installation. On the first day of the scheduled install, they arrived on time. We gave them the key to our house and let them do their thing. They worked hard and left the place clean at the end of each day. I am happy with how our hardwood floors turned out. We were able to return leftover materials to Lowes for refund. I'm deducting a star because there's some squeaking near the top of the stairs but it's so minor we didn't even ask them to return to fix it. read more

Having a horrific experience with this Lowe's installer. Bathroom flooring was done with toilet removal and replacement. First guy reinstalling toilet had leak where water pipe is attached to toilet. Floor and baseboards were soaked. Steve sent his plumbing expert to stop finish job and fix the baseboard. After toilet was used for about a weak water came up though the screw holes that attach the toilet. Shouldn't happen except it did. Called Lowe's and they made work order to have installer look. Had to wait for Steve's expert again and when his plumbing expert came he lifted toilet. To see broken wax ring and plumbing clogged. He left it that way and did not care to find what was blocking drainage. We hired a licensed plumber and he immediately found wax from ring blocking drainage. Plumber wrote report starting his finding and it was forwarded to Lowe's and A&S. Photos of the wax blockage too. Steve unfortunately is denying that his people caused problem. Taking his expert's word vs licensed plumber and photos that clearly show cause of problem. Fortunately, Lowe's is making claim for us. I guess Steve doesn't believe Lowe's either. The situation is ongoing as Lowe's takes weeks to go through process. Also, staples on underlayment for floor were sticking up and could feel. This was taken care of. I didn't want to post this even talked with Steve first. read more

A & S Floors did the carpet installation at our house, and we did not choose this service; we purchased flooring through Home Depot (Daly City), which outsources carpet jobs to A & S. The reason I'm deducting stars from my review is that I could not believe how unfairly the workers were treated by the company. On one of the hottest days of the year so far the crew of four men were sent out without water or food. I noticed that immediately and gave them water and ice myself. When it was time for a lunch break, the head guy of the four said they would only take 20 minutes. I was puzzled. Back-breaking work and only a twenty-minute break? I had to insist on their taking longer. He and another worker took the van and left, then returned later without food or drink for the two who remained behind to keep working. I was feeling more and more angry with the whole situation, and it didn't help that there was a language barrier. I kept asking them to take breaks. If it had been up to me, I would not have chosen this flooring service. I don't believe that the managers care about their workers' breaks or basic needs, and I'm going to let Home Depot know that I was very dismayed with how the installers were treated. I cannot believe that a 12-hour day was demanded of these guys and no thought went into their basic needs. Shame on the crew chief and company management. read more

They were hired by Lowe's to install my tile floor. When I called to confirm arrival time the guy who answered sighed so long and hard I felt it in my soul - he's probably still sighing. Enrique was the installer and he is THE BEST. He went above and beyond what I'd expect anyone to do. Answered all my annoying questions. Gave feedback and suggestions. Explained everything. The floor is so beautiful. He made sure everything worked once it was hooked back up. He even put my furniture back in place before I got home and cleaned up. He gave me the leftover material so I can return it. Really impressed with this guy. He did such a good job. I'm very happy with how it turned out. read more

Started with getting an estimate, should have known not to go with them,i needed tile carpet and laminate.Lowes doesnt install tile carpet, however they do send the installer to get the estimate.So comes the installer who measured and when it came to giving us the estimate gave us the estimate for laminate and not tile because they dont install tile, after repeated attempts by lowes we finally get the amount of carpet we need to buy from lowes OK so that was settled, now we have to get it delivered, they said oh we will expedite it coz it was a mess on our part dont worry well when it came to it we got a delivery date 2+ weeks out, after constant pestering we got our delivery date moved but the installers would not give us a date for the install until we had the material on hand, remind you this is a commercial property and we are working while under construction so in a rush to get this done and over with. Any way, we get the material which was curb side delivery so they left it at the curb and walked away, had we known it was curb side we would have paid anything to get the material in, coz now its so long that our contractor is done with his job and no one is on site to help us with it i call the contractor to help us get the material in or else it would just sit out and someone could easily steal it. We call the installer and we were informed that they dont work after hours or weekends (just sat... yippiee) and the first saturday they can start is 3 weeks out. Yay! so here comes the fun part the installers are to come between 8-10 the morning off i call the number to find out what time they will be arriving and i told the manager of the company A&S that i am only 5 mins away so if he can tell me when they are coming i can head over there. He said i should head out over there to which i said again i am only 5 mins away so you sure, and he says yes they have left and i should head out there. so i get up early saturday morning and head there. I am waiting and waiting and its 9:30 so i call again to find out if they are lost, and to give direction, to which i was told oh they are coming from vallejo so it will take them some time........WHAT PART OF 5 MINS DID HE NOT UNDERSTAND I still give him direction stating most people get lost so please pass it on to your guys so that they dont get lost, to which he responds no they have GPS but i insist coz i know how tricky it is, and he unwillingly writes it down, but obviously didnt pass on the msg coz guess what ...THEY ARE LOST So now they are calling me and i am trying to give them directions, the best part it NONE OF THOSE GUYS SPOKE A WORD OF ENGLISH i explained office building not house, all state ins nothing was registering finally the guy was walking around looking for it as i had stepped out to look for him finally we found each other and they arrived and this is now 11am, way after their supposed arrival time.They start to work so i step outside and i get a call from them and they are trying to explain some thing to me which i cant understand. The other supervisor calls who is bilingual stating something is missing, i run back to the office only to find out that a part was not sent by lowes as the installers didnt request it so there we waste more time coz he had to run to Lowes to get the padding so by the time they really start its 1pm we have 9 rooms to do and they are able to finish only 2 next day 2 new people show up around 11 and they do the next 2 rooms Awful job where they fail to put the door back, forget the threshold, nails on the footboard, poor caulking and not wiping down the side board, and the best part THEY LEAVE THE NEXT DOOR OFFICE WHERE EVERYTHING WAS STORED WIDE OPEN WITH LIGHTS ON AND EVERYTHING ALL NIGHT LONG... THANKFULLY NOTHING GOT STOLLEN The day after we are waiting and waiting and its 10:30 so we call, and we are told oh they are finishing up a job so they will be there by 12 Its 2:30 we call and were told oh yes they will be there in 1/2 hr and we waited and its 3:30 and so we complained to lowes and finally they were there 4:30 now remember we have to clean up the rooms for them to do this work in a functioning clinic with patients all around and furniture all around and no one is working on the floor so that we can put things back and resume normal activity so then the 2 teams finish 2 more rooms from 4:30 -7:30 so i ask them to help me put the place back since now all my staff is gone, and they said they cant do coz its not in the order and i cant talk to their supervisor and so i ask them to give me his number coz by now so many different people have come that i have no clue who is reporting to who and i assume that he went to get the number for me and i hear the truck starting and next thing i know they have disappeared. so i am frustrated by now, i wanted to make sure they closed the doors next door when there only to find that it was LEFT OPEN AGAIN WITH LIGHTS ON, we had showed them how to lock it too read more

All of the staff were extremely helpful and flexible. They made every effort to coordinate the installation of flooring at my elderly mother's home and couldn't have been more helpful. Phoebe in the office was great at scheduling, and both Enrique and Lalo who installed the floors, did an excellent job under some very challenging conditions. They glued my crawl space door shut. This and a number of other issues with the installation means I will never allow them to do work for me again--they are subcontractors through Lowe's. We had Cali Bamboo and carpet installed and they did the work. The Cali Bamboo has a 25 year warranty but it needs to be installed properly. It allows an 1/8-in flatness variation over an 8ft run. They didn't install the floorboards--they had to work to get another team to do them. They left visible seams in the carpet--they told me it's normal and it would go away after 2 weeks--they have not. They did not install the flooring correctly--there are several places where the floor sinks when it is stepped on, a 1/4-inch or more in some spots. They did not sufficiently estimate the stair nose requirements--so my stairs are covered with tape along the edges. They over-estimated the flooring requirements--so I'm left with at least 4 boxes of extra flooring. They left excess glue on the transition from wood to tile. They damaged brand new walls in multiple spots. As above, they glued my crawl space door shut. After install, I notified them directly about these issues. The "manager" that I spoke to said they would send someone out to fix them but after 2 months, they did not even follow. The only saving grace is that I ordered through Lowe's, which will now help ensure these issues are resolved. If possible, try to ensure that Lowe's does not allow A & S to be booked for your install. read more

UPDATE*** we bought a second house and needed to put all new flooring in. We went through Lowe's and asked to go through A&S floors again. They have been more than accommodating throughout the entire processes! (Lowe's has been a pain in the you know what) but Steve and his crew has put up with all the hassle and confusion and remained very professional throughout the entire process and now we have beautiful laminate flooring and carpet. We can wait till they come back for part 2 to install our stairs and downstairs! I bought my carpet through Lowe's and A&S floors were contracted to come install them. I was called the day my carpets came in and scheduled exactly a week out to come install at 9-10am. Caesar and his helper arrived early at 8:20 and were very friendly. They made sure everything was spotless and clean before laying out the carpet and were very fast. They were sure to work around me and my 6 month old baby that were there the whole day. They even whispered when they knew my baby was taking a nap! They also were very friendly to my dog and cat and made sure to keep the door closed so she wouldn't get out. This was super important to me because through out my entire remodel no one seems to understand the importance of keeping the door closed. They were so helpful in moving furniture and making sure to move things around to have the best install possible. Caesar even went out of his way to help my neighbor string his weed eater on his lunch break! Lol. They ended up finishing around 6pm and left everything very clean and furniture put back in place. We also had very little carpet left over which is nice that we didn't oveCaesar and his helper were very detail oriented and it shows through the install! Thanks to them my carpet looks amazing and my baby has a clean soft place to crawl around! We will be doing our master bedroom carpets later on and i will definitely be asking to have them install again and hopefully have Caesar and his helper come back! read more

Don't use them! A&S Flooring is the subcontractor carpet installer for Lowe's where we purchased our carpet. A team of 2 showed up on time to install carpet in our upstairs. Once they pulled up the old carpet and pad, they used a BROOM to sweep up the debris. Dust came downstairs in a cloud. They were wearing masks so they knew it was a problem. I asked them to use a Shop Vac instead of the broom. They didn't have one, so I supplied mine with an extension cord. They used the Shop Vac for a little bit and then used the broom again! What? Another cloud of dust came down the stairway and the air was thick with dust. I ran upstairs again and asked them - again - to use the Shop Vac. They had already put it away in my garage! So they got it out again and used it. By now everything upstairs is coated in dust - all of our clothes, linens, mattresses, bathrooms. And everything downstairs too - furniture, lamps, books, even the kitchen - everything! They didn't even bother to clean up the carpet threads and debris in our garage and driveway where they had cut the carpet. They left behind a mess. I talked to Lowe's about it. Their response - "What do you want us to do? Send A&S back out to dust?" Cheeky! What I really wanted Lowe's to do was to communicate to A&S that they didn't have the proper equipment. But I got the impression Lowe's really didn't care. So.... I talked to Steve at A&S. He indicated that the installation van is not big enough for a Shop Vac with the rolls of carpet, pads and other equipment. Using a broom is standard practice for clean up and they've been doing this for 20 years. I think not! We had our downstairs redone 2 years ago (different installer) and the installer used a shop vac as he proceeded with the carpet and pad removal. No dust, terrific job, happy customer. A&S Floors did an AMAZING job on our bathroom remodel. In summary, we are going to hire them again for another job. A&S was contracted (via Lowes) to come in and fix/repair a previous contractor's remodel that was riddled with problems and additional damage. A&S removed the previous remodel, repaired damage, and installed the new tile, floors, and painted. They did so in two weeks. They were always within their arrival time frame, polite, and courteous. The team took time to explain what they were doing at each step and why. They never assumed and asked lots of preference questions. A&S put down canvas drop cloths throughout the home from the front door to the remodel location. Unlike the previous contractor, they cleaned up at the end of every day and ensured there was not any damage or issues with the work. Their attention to detail is seen throughout the entire job from the paint, to the tile lines, the caulking, to the floor install. From beginning to end, their professionalism and workmanship left us incredibly happy. It was better than we envisioned. I cannot say enough good things about them. I'm looking forward to the next remodel; they are top on our list to call. read more

When we brought this to the company attention the owner sent a generic text and didn't bother to even call to learn more about what happened. We had to file a police report and have reported them to the State Licensing Board. We have had a long drawn out bad experience with this company installing our carpet. First time they came it was hours late than the time window given. They showed up with carpet that was damaged and had to find a way to install it so the gashes in it weren't in the way. They installed our baseboards poorly, they didn't cut the molding to accommodate a low window... so now we have the baseboard up above the level of the bottom of the window which goes all the way to the floor. The cut of the base board around the ac intake vent is jagged. When I went to vacuum after they left found that there was still a gash in the carpet right in a high traffic area. We were going to look over all the baseboard issues but the gash in the carpet I couldnt ignore. We have a young baby who puts everything in her mouth and would eat the carpet tufts which constantly break away from the gash. We called back told them the problem they said they would send someone to look at it after the weekend. The day they arranged to arrive I waited around for a couple of hours and no one showed within the window of time they gave. Come to find after calling that they had to cancel the visit but didn't bother to tell us. Weeks later they sent someone to patch the spot, found that it wasn't sufficient and that they would need to re-order carpet and replace everything. Fine. Fast forward to today, a day that was picked more than a week ago for them to come and reinstall the carpet. The time window was 8am to 10am. We called at 8 and they said oh no we can't come till 2pm-3pm.... fine ok.... come 3pm no one shows we call, they can't come till 6:30 now. I have a one year old baby out house is cleared out, we took our dog to be boarded for the day so that the installers wouldn't have a dog barking at them from the backyard all day...... Waiting for them to come at 6:30 but will they be done in an hour and a half? How am I supposed to put my one year old baby to bed if they are here late into the night? I have to go pick up my dog.... this is totally unprofessional, so inconvenient and I have no faith that they will even come tonight. read more

They showed up late, took a 14 days longer to complete the job because they were overbooked, didn't take into account the refrig and dishwasher when leveling the kitchen floor (had to have a carpenter fix the cabinets and DW replaced) and were rude. My wife and I tried to iron this out with Anthony but he was abusive and rude on the telephone. They want quick easy, in and out jobs because they get all their business from Home depot. They hire installers that don't know anything about floors. They had to come redo my floor twice!!!! My engineered hardwood floor is still screwed up. When they allegedly "fixed" it the first time, they NAILED the part of the hardwood down to the subfloor!!!! WOW anyone that knows a thing about hardwood knows that you DON"T nail the floor down because it needs to expand. After them coming out numerous time, I give up. Part of my floor is still peaking. I've wasted many days being there so they could "Fix" the problem. 1 star that they did refund me a fraction of the cost. read more

OMG on the bad reviews. Wow, my experience was totally different. I ordered a flooring setup through Lowes and this was my installer. It did take a long while to get the install, but wow was it ever worth it. My installer was Jose a guy with 18 years experience. He made many custom cuts and did many extra areas. There was literally zero waste, out of 30 boxes ordered I had 4 boxes left over and very little garbage. They cleaned up after themselves each day and did a fairly complicated job with a staircase in 3 days. I used a distressed hardwood and the finished result was better then I could have possibly imagined. Why am I so excited? Because prior to going to Lowes, I went to Abby carpet and quality flooring and both companies where around 15k. My wife said let's just try Lowes what the heck and see if they are the same. We really liked Abby carpet so we were leaning that way. However, the Lowes price was 1/2 OF THE PRICE OF THE OTHER BIDS AT 7500!!!!! THEY DID AN ENGINEERED HARDWOOD AT 1000 DOLLARS MORE THEN ABBY OR QUALITY BID FOR CARPET! We couldn't believe it, we got a great job from an experienced installer for 1/2 price. One worker didn't speak English but he was a great installer as well. I ended up buying these guys lunch because I was simply blown away at the quality of their work. I am so happy we now are going to do the entire home but only if A&S installs it. I am beyond satisfied, I am ecstatic on how much I saved and how good it looks. I literally can afford to do the entire home because we went through Lowes, and the quality cannot be beat. They do have to come back to do a couple moldings, but that wasn't their fault. And, because they didn't originally order the moldings, they even paid for them, which they apparently do often as told to me by Lowes. So when the guy who measures missed something, they pay for it. I will take that any day of the week, I wished he had missed more on the original order:) read more

Like the previous reviewer, we just had a Home Depot order installed by A and S. The installers were professional, courteous, efficient, and neat. They were well, organized, took pride in their work, and made a difficult job look easy. We'll definitely use them again when we do the rest of the house. Now, using Home Depot for our flooring is a whole 'nother story. read more

I had this company install my carpet via a Home Depot purchase (they were contracted via Home Depot, not me). They were awful, they had to come back several times to fix things that they broke. They installed 2 doors that didnt close after they were done! They came into my home the first day to install and told me I had to pay an additional $1200!!! Are you kidding me! They are so unprofessional and owner Steve should just retire, he is not good with customers. He doesnt give a crap. Stay away!! read more

I got them through Home Depot. I bought laminate floors, and took up Home Depot's installation special. I had a lot of problems with Home Depot, they measured incorrectly, etc. but, surprisingly, I had a very good experience with A and S Floors despite initial speed-bumps. They came about two hours late on the first day of installation (I was estimated a three-day installation). The workers took time to eat their lunch first, in my house (Provided that my house was just a job site at the time, we were living somewhere else, but I was at there on that day). I told them to clean up their lunch when they were done and not to leave any trash. The workers obliged without any attitude, and apologized for eating lunch before they work, they said they were really hungry. I understood, I'd rather have my workers do their job right with a full stomach. I mainly communicated with Pedro, who was polite, knowledgeable, and knew what he was doing. On that first day, I asked him a lot of questions, and he didn't give me any attitude, he answered all my questions, and even explained a little bit more than I expected him to. There were broken products, and he refused to install them. He was really straightforward about it, showed me the broken pieces, and told me that I should call Home Depot to order more. Also, because Home Depot messed up my measurements, we were short about nine boxes of laminate. On top of that, the contractor we used didn't paint my quarter rounds (that were to be installed by A and S) on time! Pedro told me that they will come back when all the quarter rounds are painted and the new boxes are in, no extra charge (They could've finished the whole job that day if the materials were ready). He told me to call his boss Steve. Steve, although not super friendly, was always polite. He answered my calls, called me back when I leave him a message, And always provided me with satisfactory answers when I have questions. Steve quickly arranged another installation date for me. In the end, I was very satisfied with the job that they did. I was there when they installed the quarter rounds, and were caulking all the gaps. Being the perfectionist that I am, I pointed out gaps that I thought still needed caulking, and without any attitude, they filled them up! Awesome service. Very happy! read more

I recently ordered my carpet through Lowe's and A&S were our installers. Setting up the appt for the measurements was easy, but the rest of the process was hell. Nobody in their administrative staff has any idea what they are doing. I needed approximately 300 sq. feet of carpeting, but due to their lack of mathematic skills and common sense, they wanted to bill me for over 550 sq. feet. After calling their office numerous times and having to wait days to get updated measurements/giving them suggestions on HOW to take measurements, they were able to figure things out. Because I needed the carpet and was short on time, I went with them. If I had more time, you better believe I would have looked elsewhere. The installers that came out were beyond amazing and did an outstanding job. They are the ONLY reason this company is getting 1 star-otherwise, zero stars would have still been a lot. read more

I had laminate floors installed through Lowes, overall I'm satisfied. The guy who measured and the guys who delivered the materials were very professional. Ignacio and Noel who installed the floors did a very good job. They were courteous, hardworking and they made sure we were satisfied. The job was completed on time and it looks amazing. read more

We had a terrible experience with A&S. We bought carpet through Lowe's (Sunnyvale) and installation was included - they contract to A&S, which I didn't know anything about. This is for the condo we are currently living in. The scheduling part was fine, and Steve was helpful, but the installation was a mess. It was supposed to be a 1-day project, they said 6-8 hours when they measured (about 550 sq ft). I actually asked repeatedly if it would take more than 1 day, since I needed to keep my young children out of the house, and they said no, just 1 day. Well, on day 1, the installers showed up 2 hours late ("they are coming all the way from Benicia!" - sorry, not my problem - and got lost, despite my careful directions). They worked soooo slowly - seriously, glacial pace. They had no common sense - they kept leaving brand-new roles of carpet right in the middle of our condo's parking lot, blocking all the cars (and seem dumbfounded when I asked them to move it). They worked all day and still seemed to make no progress. By 7 pm (8 hours after starting, 10 hours after they should have started) we had to put our kids to bed and they were barely half-way done. We had to pack a suitcase and stay the night at a relative's house. The crew ended up not leaving until 9:30 pm, and hadn't even started on the staircase, which should have been the only time-consuming part. When they left they told us they didn't know if they would come back, we had to call their boss. So the next morning I call Steve, and he was shocked to find out they hadn't finished - they never communicated with him. He wasn't able to get anyone out to finish that day, so we had to live in our house with our staircase FULL OF TACK STRIPS - hundreds of nails sticking up. I also called Lowes and tried to see if they would have any luck in getting someone there that day, but they didn't. Finally the next day A&S was able to send people out - Steve was going to send the same crew until we insisted that he send other people. The new crew was better (although they still arrived 2 hours later than expected), and finished up the staircase and all the other little things the first crew did wrong. On top of all that, as we started to put things back in rooms we realized the first crew had damaged one of our doors (a huge gash) and our furniture (smaller gashes, but still noticeable). I'm still trying to reach the person at Lowe's who promised me some refund ... we'll see if that ever happens. read more

This is an unethical and unreliable business group. They were sub-contractors to Lowe's and installed carpets in our entire house. During installation some damage was done. After some negotiation they agreed to pay for this damage. However after months of waiting and calling it has become clear that they have no intention of actually paying. They have repeatedly told me that a check will be sent today but it never has. A&S floors is a third rate operation with very low ethical standards. Lowe's should not be using an enterprise such as A&S Floors who have no respect for customers. I will make sure that we never have to deal with read more

STAY AWAY FROM THEM. If i could give zero star i would have. I request Vinyl install through Lowes and scheduling a measure appointment was a pain and they would not do it before or after a 4 hour window and after booking they called day before to push the time out and when i mentioned i will request a different installer they pushed forward to come at the same time. I should have taken the que right then and should not have proceeded with them but i was naive to think Lowes has my back. They came promptly on the day we agreed for install then started the problem. After hours of waiting for the leveling compound to dry where layer of compound was put even before places where fully dry,they come the next day to say in some places its not bond well and they have to come another day to grind the place and put the compound again. And that i need to pay $380 for this. I was appalled .. but ZERO customer empathy..Very dry tone from the installer about the cost and it felt like its their way or the highway on the cost ans the next time when they will come. so left my house with 300Sq ft of unfinished flooring for 3 days and then returned to complete the job with a port unfinished only for me to hear again for them "Somebody must have told you because i see your signature on the measurement". I am in customer service and this hurts me to have such an experience. I will not Go with A&S nor will i go with Lowes for install. read more

"Last December, i decided to finally replace the old,worn carpet in my home. After doing a lot of research, i narrowed it down to 3 retailers. Lumber Liquidators, Empire,and Home Depot. Irecieved estimates from all three. Home depot was by far the best value. I had the floors in three rooms replaced with Bamboo flooring installed by A & S Floors. They did an excellent job. Please note,it is very important to be "present" during the entire installation process to make sure you're available to make important decisions and changes. They did the job in a timely manner, and the attention to detail was commendable. Please remember to review the estimate carefully, and return any excess materials for a refund. My experience could not have been better!" I had read the other review about how they treat workers, but I found they worked hard and took appropriate breaks.
