I went through the PenFed Credit Union Car Buying Service powered by TrueCar and received documentation showing a $26,105 drive-off price for this exact vehicle. When I went to the dealership, they would not honor the PenFed/TrueCar out-the-door price. On top of that, they attempted to charge me approximately $1,500 for a GPS add-on that I did not want or need. I had already questioned the GPS charge and wanted it removed. What made this even more frustrating was the condition of the truck. The vehicle still needed repairs, including brake work and an oil leak, yet I was being asked to pay additional money instead of receiving the price presented through the PenFed/TrueCar buying service. When I questioned the situation, the salesperson came across as dismissive and cocky and told me that they could always sell the truck to someone else for more money. I found that response especially frustrating considering the advertised price of the truck had already been reduced more than once. I came prepared to purchase the vehicle and had financing available through my credit union. I wasn't asking for an unrealistic discount--I wanted the pricing presented through the PenFed/TrueCar program to be honored and unnecessary add-ons removed. Based on my experience, I would recommend that potential customers get the complete out-the-door price in writing, carefully review all dealer-added products and fees, and have the vehicle inspected before purchasing.

Steve helped me when I arrived and was super patient and attentive. He gave me plenty of time to look over the truck, take it for a drive, and make my decision without ever making me feel pressured. Poor Workmanship and Even Worse Customer Service…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Citrus Motors in Ontario, particularly their collision repair department. My 2024 Ford Edge was rear-ended, and the resulting insurance claim involved approximately $16,000 in repairs. I had the freedom to take my vehicle to any repair facility I wanted. I chose Citrus Motors because I believed a dealership-backed repair facility would provide quality workmanship, professionalism, and accountability. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. From the day I picked up my vehicle, I noticed an unusual sputtering/fluttering sound coming from the exhaust. I didn't immediately bring it back, which I acknowledge was my mistake. Eventually, the muffler came loose, hung down, and sustained damage, including a crack and scraping underneath the vehicle. When I returned to Citrus Motors, instead of seriously considering whether something had been improperly secured during the original repair, I was told that the scrape marks meant I must have hit something and that the damage would not be covered under warranty. I know I did not hit anything underneath my vehicle. My concern is that the exhaust came loose first and the scraping resulted from it hanging down. That is exactly what I wanted them to investigate. To make matters worse, I also discovered a cracked screen after the original repair that was not cracked when I brought the vehicle in. I raised the issue with them and was told it would be addressed. I never followed through on getting it corrected, giving them the benefit of the doubt. After giving this business approximately $16,000 in insurance repair work, I wasn't asking for the world. I was asking them to stand behind their workmanship, investigate the problem fairly, and at least make a reasonable effort to repair or secure the muffler. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed and blamed. What bothers me most isn't just the damaged muffler. It's the complete lack of goodwill and accountability toward a customer who specifically chose to bring them substantial business. I could have supported a smaller, independent collision repair shop. Looking back, I wish I had. I would not recommend Citrus Motors for collision repairs based on my experience. If you have an insurance claim and the freedom to choose your repair facility, think carefully before trusting them with your vehicle. A large dealership name means nothing if the customer is left dealing with problems and nobody is willing to take responsibility.

Once I get to a place where I can drop this car off I will have it handled but either way I can say this. There is reason why this organization is 5 Stars. They do everything right. They have the cars you are looking for and more importantly the attitude needed to make a good experience. In sales its about the CAN DO attitude. My family has been coming here since our struggling origins. When I say struggles, I mean, we were a ONE CAR household. My dad would drop my mom off at work in the mornings and either he or my aunt would pick my mom up from work. We had a humble living and even with one car, we couldn't afford anything too new. The La Costa brothers were there to provide their automotive knowledge and extremely reliable recommendations. The cars we purchased from them throughout the years had no headaches. When it was time to afford to budget a second car into our household, it was legendary. We felt extremely blessed and fulfilled to have what others would imagine to be basic necessities. La Costa Auto Sales was a major factor in making that transition possible for their reasonable rates and reliability. I will always always feel grateful that they were able to be there for us during tough times. Pass forward to the present, we are blessed to afford to buy newer cars from the Honda dealership, but that leaves us with an "old" car on hand. Honda offered quite an insulting value, and my dad immediately said No thank you! We knew selling it to La Costa Auto Sales would be an honest amount, whatever the offer would be. And, they offer wheel repair, head light cover cleaning, steering wheel repair, hood black out decal, paint protection film and I am sure more that I am unaware of.
