If I could give zero stars I would. I asked for the deluxe pedicure & midway through my pedi the tech got up & walked away. 20 min later a different tech came over to finish my gel then walked away. 10 min after that the original tech returned but at this point I'd been there for over 2 hours & had to go. They wanted to charge me $56 for an incomplete pedi then offered me $10 off charging me $46. I stated that my pedi was incomplete & looked terrible. She said it's my own fault because I didn't let him finish...!?! Wtf!?! He walked away & left me there waiting forever! I paid them & left. No communication & Poor management. I will never return to this location & recommend against patronizing this establishment. Shame on you! Do better!!! read more

It's too bad that independent businesses are really lacking in customer service. I walked in to get nail polish change and pedicure. I was immediately taken. However the mail technician Anne, unpolished my nails and walked away 3 times! Once to answer phone call, next to take payment and lastly to take color swatches to another customer. When I finally spoke up and asked for her to get someone else that could help me, she offer to polish nails with gel so I wouldn't have to wait. Funny how it suddenly changed and she said she never offered that. Manager came over to tell me no one here does that. It's my choice if I want gel polish! Hmm I think I'm correct. They don't care about customer, it's the overbooking greed that they focus on! There's plenty of other nail shops that offer consistent courteous service. I will NOT return. Eric manager was the most rude. Embarrassed they are in my community. I would NIT recommend this establishment. read more

So I come here all the time and I usually love what I get but today was different. I came in and asked for my usual french gel acrylic nails in shape square round and he proceeded to ask if i wanted a nude powder and i said no, I prefer the normal pink with the regular acrylic french tip. He then proceeds to glue on these white tips instead of the clear ones to which I was confused about but just assumed it was a new type of french acrylic. he then also says, do u want ur cuticles cut because it's extra and i responded with "isn't that included, they always cut them when i come here and they've never said anything about it being extra?" he said no, it's extra. i said sure then. anyways after these white tips are glued on, which he didn't even measure them to match and they were glued on crooked, he proceeds to put on the powder just like that. no shaping, i asked for square round just like the picture. so i asked hey, this isn't looking like the picture at all, are you gonna put the white gel polish to fix the shape of the tip bc the white tip is too thick and doesn't look like the picture i asked for? he then gets angry, says this is what i asked for, which i didnt. i said look at the picture and compare, it's not the same, i always get my french white gel tip here done all the time, i don't understand how this is any different. he says that i should have told him that after he glued one nail on and i said i just assumed this was his way of doing it and that it would look better once the powder was on. he got angry and i said okay maybe we can paint white on top, to try to find a solution and he tried but it looked way too thick and straight instead of curvy and i wasn't gonna pay for something i didn't like so i just asked to take them off so we can do it the normal way. he takes them off by ripping them off, no tools, which hurt, talking shit which i understood some of it btw, and tells me to sit back on the waiting area even though i had an appointment set. he said someone else is gonna help you and stormed off. i then sit for 15 min with no help. no communication at all. and my sister comes over and i explain what happened. she said to talk to the front desk lady so i stand up, go up to her and she's sitting on her phone texting. i wait. another worker had to tell her to look up and notice that i'm trying to get her attention. i explained what happened and didn't understand why he couldn't just redo it, i wasn't rude at all and in fact very confused at his behavior. she rudely says the guy who's currently doing my sisters nails will do mine after. i said wait that's not fair, i had an appointment to do them at the same time? she said sorry there's no other staff available even though there was plenty of free chairs and no one waiting besides me. i straight up told my sis hey i'm gonna go wait in the car until u finish and then i'll just go somewhere else. so beyond rude and disrespectful. so disappointed but i'm glad i stood up for myself because they always try to take advantage! read more

I would give Zero stars if I could. I recently moved to Indio from the Bay Area, and have gotten a once a month man's pedicure for years. I frequented La Spa in San Leandro, Anna treated me as a valued customer, and knew I liked a quality pedicure with an exceptional foot massage. I am on my feet all day, and I look forward to this time. My pedi would last close to an hour, and I would get at least a 15 min massage at the end. I had a regular tech, and I tipped her very well for the great service. I would also take care of Anna from time to time to show my appreciation. She likes Starbuck's so every so often I would give her a gift card even tho she said it was not necessary. $24 plus $20 tip every time I had an appt. So having heard so many good things about A&J, I was looking forward to their service. I emailed them and explained exactly what I wanted from my pedicure. They emailed me back and said we have an appt set up with Amy. I was seated at 9:57am for my 10am, and the lady in the adjacent seat had my water ready, which was mildly warm at best. Nobody asked if it was satisfactory. Fine. So finally at 10:10 - nearly 15 minutes after I was seated - my tech comes out. She has a cell phone on her shoulder, had her neck bent so it wouldn't fall off her shoulder, and proceeded to talk on the phone in this position and give me a service at the same time. 10 minutes later she finally put the phone away, and proceeded to give off a vibe as if she wanted to be anywhere other than this pedicure. She did the bare minimum, didn't file or shape my nails just clipped them, put some lotion on my legs and feet and rubbed that for around a minute. Then brought over 2 hot stones and proceeded to rub those on my feet for maybe a minute. We were finished at 10:35am, a 25 minute pedi. The lady next to me was in her chair before I got there, and was still there when I was done...and no she wasn't getting any polish. She was getting the service you would expect for a nail appt. I asked for the manager, there was an obvious language barrier, so I gave him my name and number for the owner to contact me so I can talk about my experience. I have yet to hear back. I live here year round. I live right up the street. My wife is also looking for a salon. They have 2 potentially repeat customers right up the street, and they gave me the impression that my business isn't worth their bother. I can guarantee you that I tip better than 90% of the people that walk through that door - not a brag - its just that you never know who will be one of your best customers. I have worked in a tipping industry for 15 years, so I know the value of good service and an appropriate tip. There are many salons in the area, and if I have to drive a few extra miles to get the service I expect I'll do that. Not a problem. This place obviously doesn't value my business. Their loss, not mine. UPDATE: I called back today and asked if the owner was in. Yes, I asked for the name and he said Amy. The person that did my nails. That was Amy. The "Owner". I asked for the owner yesterday, nobody told me she was an owner. Today I asked if there was another owner, was told her brother was also an owner. He's supposed to contact me. At this point I doubt it matters. If the owner of the salon didn't care.......why would I ever go back. read more

The second time I went here, the girl doing my pedicure burned my left ankle so it left a scar. I went 2 weeks ago and the gel polish started pealing off in a week. I went yesterday and the person put the entirely wrong color on my nails and left out part of the pedicure. I shouldn't have gone back after the ankle burn. I definitely will not return. This was my first time at A&J and I will definitely be coming back! I did a walk in and waited for 30 minutes which I did not mind, but if you don't have time make an appointment for sure. Then I was seated to get a full set with Daniel. I only had acrylics done once before and it hurt, so I was a little nervous about my appointment today. Daniel was amazing and exceeded my expectations!! He was very gentle and did such an excellent job. He was also very friendly and made sure to check if everything was correct that I wanted. Then I got my standard pedi with Hellen. WHEW! She was so amazing and I've never been so relaxed before in my life. Her massage was great and she's such a sweetheart. Mind you my set prior to that gel x set I had for over a month this set didn't even last a week. The best thing the owner can offer me was 50% my next service. The worst, went again and not even 5 hours after I left the salon my my GEL POLISH which is supposed to last weeks is peeling due to the fact that they kept moving me with nail techs and no one knew what they were doing. I've used this salon one other time a while back, and I was happy with the service I received. I was going as a walk in yesterday 11/3/23. The salon was busy so I made an appointment for 2.5 hours later with Cory, who I had last time I was there. The front desk indicated Cory would be my tech. I also told them I am diabetic, so no skin cutting including cuticle's. I repeated the instructions a second time. I got to the salon right on time, and I was handed off to another young man. Ok, it was too far for me to go back home and wait, or come another time. I live too far away to come back, so I had a seat while the tub was filling up with very hot water. I pulled my feet out and and told the young man the water was too hot. His response was to start working on my feet without soaking them. I asked him to please trim my nails shorter than he was doing. He filed them instead, and I kid you not, he swiped over them twice on each nail. No filing, swipe. It was obvious he didn't understand or speak English. I didn't want to embarrass him or myself so I just sat there. It didn't take long for him to indicate he was finished. I'm surprised he didn't put polish on my nails, which I requested them not to do. 1 point in his favor. The cons were the foot message and the very quickly done, hot rock rub on the bottom of my feet, and the amount of time I was worked on. I was out in 20-25 minutes! Unfortunately the cons far outweighed any positive experience. Would I recommend A and J? It's a very busy salon, so I'd say, maybe. If your more aggressive at getting what you want, you might be satisfied. As for me, I'll take a pass and try out a salon closer to my home. There are so many salons around town, just like a Starbucks on every corner. For the $30 plus tip it cost me, I think I'll just go to a podiatrist. It's free with my insurance. They just don't have a spa chair. read more

I walked in at like 4:05pm on a Sunday and they were very busy so I figured they wouldn't have time to take my walk in before they closed at 5:00 pm. But they told me yes and had me seated right away. When the woman started my pedicure, she asked if I wanted a manicure. I said I would if they had time for both. So I ended up getting both. I was out by 5:08 pm. The people here are very nice and I was surprised how quickly they worked. Especially because they took time to do things well.
