I requested a quote for tree pruning, Miguel came, listened, didn't write anything down gave me a quote and came back the next day as he was doing another job in the area. a few guys came did a great job but not the whole job... I called Miguel and told him, he was surprised that they didn't go into the back yard. said he would be back... almost 3 weeks later they came back and only did half the back yard because they forgot their tools to do the other part of the job,that was a month ago and I've been texting him ever since and he keeps telling me he's very busy and will get here when he can. this is unacceptable. I had called and they sent a rep out to give me a free estimate , he talked a good game about cutting my very large overhanging trees which are destroying my deck , trimming bushes and another tree . He gave me a good negotiable quote, asked me for a $100 - security deposit paid through Venmo ( I was hesitant because it's instant and not return if things go wrong!). Needless to say they were scheduled to come out the same week on the Thursday at 8 am , no text confirmation and no show . I called to see where they were and was then told by the rep CJ that he had left a message to say it was changed to the following day , I told him that no message was received. I cancelled with them and tried to get my deposit back , no chance only rude nasty attitude and lies about how it was not their problem and they would consider $50- it was not a free quote , the rep CJ tried but I didn't get it back only excuses. I got another contractor and many , many more called and I negotiated an even better price and they were amazing . Do not use this service!!!!!! my neighbor, Douglas Daley was having a tree removed on his property, this company knocked two other trees over in the process damaging my property. They didn't even have the courtesy to knock on my door and let me know I had to go out finding a crew of people on my property without my permission, trying to cover it up so that we wouldn't know it was them. Furthermore I contacted the company several times and nobody is trying to call me back and now they're trying to ignore me and not answer me at all. They've done thousands of dollars of damage to my property and will not take ownership of it even though on the back of his shirt, it says we're fully insured..! Unfortunately, I have to give a low rating for this tree service. First, they changed the quote after confirming twice on the phone and via a text message, and the night before they were to come in for service. Given their good review, I agreed to the higher price. They did good work on our property some weeks ago, but did not complete all the work as promised. A section of trees in the front of the property was not trimmed and a large dead branch that hangs over our yard was not removed. It was my mistake in not noticing this before I paid them and I complimented them on doing all the other parts of the yard well. When I noticed the unfinished work in the daylight the next morning and called them to request completion of the work, I was asked to send a picture of the hanging dead branch. I did so and was told they would come by right away to finish the work. They did not show up as promised and rescheduled with me three times on the phone. Finally, they said they had no time to come do this and were busy with other jobs and stopped responding to my calls. I had recommended them to others in my neighborhood as well, but will now warn my friends not to go with this kind of unprofessional company that does not stand by their work. read more

I responded to a flyer I received in the mail. A rep from their Lexington service came out to give me an estimate for stump grinding. His pricing was ridiculously expensive! More than twice what I paid to another company a little over a year ago. When I questioned him about his pricing, he said its "inflation." This guy will tell you he has the best prices he sounds more like a sales man than someone who trims trees. Would not recommend them. Got a few other quotes. His was the highest. When I told him im going with someone else he started going on about how these other companies aren't tree trimmers they're landscapers although they definitely specialized in tree trimming. Then went on about how they probably weren't insured up to the limits his company was. He lowered my quote by $100 after I told him I was going with the other company. Also got him a job at a family members house. He was adamant about scheduling us the same day even though we both weren't available the same day. Went a day early to my family's house didn't complete the job. When we called him he said he wasn't gonna send his guys all the way to our town because it was out of their way and it was only 1 branch we wanted cut. I had a very large tree on my property that had large branches over my yard and my neighbor's yard as the tree was between both houses which had fences on opposite side of the tree. TJ came out on time for our appointment and gave me a good price to remove the tree. The workers from AA Tree and Shrub, did an an outstanding job of taking down the branches and the tree and nothing was damaged.The crew also cleaned and raked both yards, along with my front yard where they were carrying the branches to be chipped in their machine in front of my house. Even the street and sidewalk in front of my house was also cleaned from any debris. TJ and his crew are amazing and did an awesome job. I would definitely recommend them & hire them again.. He could agree to disagree and leave it as a professional disagreement. - 2stars "I was very detailed and specific with request in person looking at the tree. We agreed on a price. I was told I would receive an emailed quote in the coming days. The quote lacked details discussed and I notified in the email before having them come out. They showed up and said, " oh I thought it was just this....its gonna be more money.." At best this is an unacknowledged mistake on their end. Recommendation: Have a detailed quote written in person onsite visit. Take pictures with work highlighted. Other than feeling squeezed for more money on the spot, Fredo was pleasant and respectful." We have used them 2 years in a row to trim trees in our backyard. Both times they have been very fair with the price and very accommodating with the date and time. I can't recommend AA Tree & Shrub highly enough. From our first communication to the impeccable condition in which they left our property, they exceeded all of our expectations. Alfredo called back immediately, came right over to give us a quote and the price was very competitive. They fit us into their schedule just a couple of days later. The crew arrived ahead of schedule to set up their equipment and started working right on time or even a little earlier. They were all exceedingly professional, friendly and very hard working. They took down 2 giant pine trees; approximately 100 feet tall each. The trees were stump ground after being removed & there was absolutely no debris left behind. Their work was meticulous and most efficient. After reading some of the (very few less than 5 stars) reviews on here, I have a rather hard time even believing it's the same company. These guys are great! Had a HUGE (15" diameter) tree branch in my back yard from my neighbors tree, asked for a quote, Alfredo came by the next day, very reasonable price. Crew showed up (early I might add) and an hour later the tree is gone, yard cleaned and no collateral damage! I live in a 135 yr old neighborhood in Dorchester and the side yards are limited in size. This was not a problem for AA, used hand ropes and slings. No heavy equipment other than the chipper, which was very quiet. Would give six stars if u could. Highly recommended. read more

We hired AA Tree & Shrub Service for our 11 unit association in June 2019 to trim the shrubs, cut one huge (40 ft tree) and prune trees 4 ft off the building. There were a few hiccups in scheduling the job, but when the team arrived they finished a huge project in a little over half a day, including digging out two stubborn and hard shrubs that were next to the gas line and needed to be treated with care. This crew did a great job removing branches from a very large White Oak tree in my backyard. They moved my plants and furniture that was on the patio cleaned and up beautifully when done. They were very careful and didn't damage anything in the yard including plants around the tree. All this at a really reasonable price. I've tried to reach them for six months to get them back down to finish the job and I constantly get the runaround. The day that we were scheduled to have our trees pruned they never showed up. This was very inconvenient because I took the day off so I could be there when they were scheduled. When I called the owner to see where he was, he told me that he wasn't coming that day. When I told him that he scheduled the service on this particular day he had no answer but to tell me that he would come the following week. When his workers came to my property they didn't complete the job and they didn't clean up my front lawn. They left wood chips all over my front yard. i don't recommend them. read more

I hade AA Tree and Shrub Service remove two giant pine trees today that were right up against the back of my house in Stow. These guys were animals! It felt like 150 degrees out there and humid, and these guys were shooting around with chainsaws and big rigs, scaling trees like they were hungry reptiles. I couldn't believe how hard they worked in extremely tough conditions. While they were all running around dropping branches and sections off of my trees, the fact that no one got hit with flying lumber is miraculous. I asked the foreman how they could work together so smoothly with such a tough job and he replied, "we've been doing this so long it's easy." When I said, "yeah, but my house had two towering pines right up against the back of my house and I did not think it was possible to remove them without hitting the house," he said, "no problem. We've done houses on hills that were harder than this." Needless to say, I highly recommend this company and thank them for a job very well done under extreme conditions. I hired them to cut down a tree that had been broken during a storm. They didn't show on time but apparently their truck had broken down. Once they were here I asked them for a quote on two other trees. I got the quote and arranged for the following Sat morning for 8 AM. That Saturday, we were prepared and waited..and waited. I finally called Alfredo and got no answer or return call. Later around 1:30 pm, I called again with no answer and no call back. Last time I called was the following Monday with no answer and no call back. They did a nice job with the first tree, but their customer service is terrible and unacceptable. I wouldn't use or recommend them as they are not reliable. My neighbor used them...that's how I got the name originally and she said that they arrived 7 hours late with no call. read more

The trees were expertly taken down. A blue spruce tree which was not supposed to be taken down was also removed. Deep grooves in the ground remain where the heavy trunk pieces hit the ground and many small branches were left scattered. read more
