I had ordered screened loam from them approximately 2 weeks ago. We waited a few days to spread it in our yard. When we did we found rocks (approximately a 25 lb one along with other smaller ones and sticks) in the loam. I called a week ago and was promised a call back. Nothing. Got 3 estimates on removing a huge tree in back of my yard. Tree was 80 feet tall 4 feet in diameter with several huge limbs shooting out of the side of tree. Only way to access tree was with a crane. First estimate was off the charts. The second seemed more reasonable but still Lil high. Then I called Community Tree & they looked at tree when I was at work like the other companies. When I called community tree to get estimate I had make sure I herd the quote correctly so I asked twice for the quote. At that point I said come get the tree. They came a week later with this huge crane. Big chipper truck and 5 guys. The layed out protection pads on entire driveway& drove crane on them. Big pads for the feet of crane & sent this very long boom over house and lowered down the slings and tree cutter into tree. The guy was like a surgeon cutting huge sections off the tree. Crane operator was outstanding & so precise lifting these huge pieces of tree over my house out to the street. They sent it right into massive chipper. The whole team worked like clock work. The last section was huge, they had to drop the 30 foot section on lawn & then cut 5 foot sections. They lifted them over the house one by one. They raked up all the debris in the back of house as well as the front. Took them 4 hours start to finish & these guys were professional as well as friendly. You will be amazed how community tree service works. I couldn't believe how the crane got to that tree so far back in the yard. This tree was HUGE. I strongly recommend this company. Their coming back to grind the stump in a week. The $ PRICE on the job blew away the other competitors by far & was realistic and very fair deal read more

Extremely rude customer service. Emailed to request mulch and tree removal services. Got a 3 word response didn't even bother to respond to my request for tree services. Yesterday I called and spoke to the receptionist who told me that they weren't scheduling any tree services until the fall. Super rude with lots of attitude. I'm sorry but if you are in the tree service business you should be able to accommodate two small trees in a quicker time frame than 4-5 months. I'd highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. Maybe hire more people or invest in someone with some decent customer service skills. read more

They were very quick to come out and give a quote for tree removal. Good price too. "10-14 days- we will call you the night before we come". That was over a month ago. Each time I call, I get a brush off (pun intended). They promise to call, they promise to come. Nothing. I give up. FINALLY, five weeks later, they called! I was pissed at the wait and their not answering calls but in the end, they did a great job and the price was excellent. I just wish they could be honest with their waiting list and the fact that call backs just aren't a likely thing to happen read more

MULTIPLE BROKEN PROMISES to deliver a quote for removal of three large trees. Very frustrating.

If I could give less than one star I would. They had a salesman come out to our home, he gave an estimate, we called, agreed to the estimate. We were to,d they would be out in three weeks. It has been three plus months, I called, a woman told me someone would call before the end of the business day. No one called, the next day my husband called, same woman answered, he was told the owner would call him back, again no one called, and no one has come to take the tree down. Horrible business practice, especially since we are residents. In my opinion you would do better calling another tree company, someone that is better at business practices. read more

One star, only because you have to give at least one. Evidently they are not hurting for business. I called several times over the course of two months. I went over my information with them, multiple times. They had me hang paper plates on the trees in question. But they never showed up or called. -update. As it turns out, they did show up. They were supposed to leave the estimate in my front door, through the mail slot. Instead, they pried open a storm door, with no handle and left the quote in there. Since we do not use that door, we did not find the quotation until after we had the trees taken down by another service that was very responsive and less expensive. Due to swelling, we haven't been able to get the door closed, again. read more

Removed all but one of the trees we agreed to. Foreman told me seconds before they were about to begin taking the last tree down down, they forgot an accessory on the hydraulic crane jib and would need to return next week to complete the job. When I relayed to owner he said "Don't ever listen to the people who work for me". Community Tree demanded to be paid and promised to remove the tree once their hydraulic lift was fixed. We did so on good faith. Probably won't be fixed for a "long, long time". Also, Community Tree clearly spray painted all trees except one huge tree. They had spray painted it on the opposing side in a place not visible to us. Seconds before the crane descended I happen to walk on my neighbors property to see the orange X on a tree we love, saving the tree. What's a shame is that they are very neat and efficient at removing trees. Their office management is disorganized and the owner is rude and inappropriate, and apparently unethical. read more

I have ordered loam twice from Community Tree and both times the loam was very clean with no rocks or debris. I got same day delivery both times I called, and they were very friendly and easy to deal with. The price was competitive, and I really like the fact that I am supporting a local family owned business. I would not hesitate to order from Community Tree again in the future! read more

I had heard the Community tree was an expensive company but I found their bid very competitive. They did an amazing job. The crane operator and tree man are very experienced and professional. I would give them a 5 star except I did have to wait a bit for the job as due to the extremely hot weather this summer they got behind in the work load. The owner also gave me a recommendation on removing one more tree (always costs less to do when the equipment is on site) I'm so glad that I had that extra tree removed as it really opened up the yard an will allow for a better tree canopy for the remaining trees. read more

Our backyard was totally over whelmed with very mature overgrown pine trees. We were desperately in need of some serious culling. We reached out to 5 companies in seacrh of realistic options and estimates. 2 companies never responded at all! 1 informed us that they don't deal with pine. One showed up and basically informed us that in exchange for their services we would have to forfeit our 1st born. Then our prayers were answered when Mr. Hogan of Community Tree Service arrived. Our 3 Labrador retrievers announced his arrival. As I watched him getting out of his truck I corralled the dogs back into the house. As I went back outside to greet him I was a bit surprised he had gone back to his truck. Concerned that the dogs might have run off our last option, consider my surprise to learn that, having heard the dogs, he had gone back to the truck to get them dog biscuits!!! Mr. Hogan surveyed our situation, made some recommendations and then prepared a prioritized estimate. Their estimate was significantly less than the other option. We decided on having them remove the three worst trees. Up until now I have failed to mention the fact that all of these trees were located in our fenced in backyard, in between our and our neighbor's swimming pools. With coordination, they were able to position their crane in our neighbors driveway and extract the trees over our shed, alongside our two story house out to their awaiting chipper in our front yard. My wife and I were mesmerized as we watched load after load be extracted up and over the fence. The 4 man crew were fully choriograghed, and their team work was exceptional. From start to finish they were on site for slightly more than 2 hours to include crane setup and take down and a thorough clean up. 2 sections of the trees were too large for the chipper and we're left on site and promptly removed the 1st thing the following morning. Our only regret was that our grandchildren weren't available to see the whole operation. I highly recommend them. read more

My neighbors tree fell on my property one windy day. Per the insurance company it was an act of god and wasn't covered. I was thrilled when the neighbor stepped up and paid for the removal. She hired community tree. My husband and I happen to be home when they came to do an estimate. The guy was very nice and indicated that to remove it they would need to access our property but that they would use a light piece of equipment and put down plywood to ensure no additional damage to our lawn. We came home the afternoon after they removed the tree to find a disaster. There were marks all over the grass showing exactly where the machine had gone back and forth to remove the tree. There were twigs and branches everywhere and they even left part of the tree in our lawn! I figured they would have at least tried to dig it out a little bit! I called twice to complain and ask that they come and take a look at the damage and NOTHING...no response at all. Buyer beware! read more
