My front door lock had been inoperable for six months - key goes in but wouldn't turn. I knew something was broken causing the jam. I looked for a replacement at Lowes and Home Depot but couldn't find the right size because this is one of those dual lock and handle types that came with the door originally. I got tired of not having another access except the garage, so finally called Paul. After a few texts including photos of the lock, we agreed on a price and Paul showed up promptly at the promised time. In no time at all Paul disassembled the lock and found a broken brass pin that caused the problem. Paul replaced the pin, re-assembled everything, and the lock was back in working order. Even though it took him only 10 minutes, I was happy to pay it knowing that a big part of a locksmith's expense is commuting from job to job. This is the first time I hired a locksmith for residential repair so I can't compare Paul to other locksmiths, but in terms of other trades people I've hired before, Paul ranks right up there and I would not hesitate to hire him again. read more

I broke my car key in half and called a few different locksmiths to see if I could have them come and make a key out of the two broken pieces. Every place I called said I would have better luck calling the dealership and I didn't want to do that (takes too long & it's expensive). The guy is really good and prices are fair. $75 when most other locksmiths would charge $150 at that time of day. I called Paul yesterday in order to copy one of my car keys since the remote was broken and the key itself wasn't working to well anymore. My girlfriend and I had spent weeks calling around to find someone who could copy my car key with a reasonable price and time. We had a lot of trouble given how rare it was to find someone who could copy a 2006 Honda Civic car key but we finally reached Paul who said he could do it for $100 and about 30 minutes. I was very satisfied with the price so I gave him my address and he showed up early to copy my key. He took about 30 minutes to copy the key but realized that my key was more complicated than expected because of some special chip inside of it. Regardless of the complication he continued with the job and told me he would come back later in the day after his appointments to finish the job with some new tools and whatever else he needed. Sure enough he came back and finished the job in about 15 minutes later in the day. He told me he didn't make too much money from this job considering that he had to make two copies of my key but he wouldn't charge me extra. All Paul asked of me was to leave him a good review which I am more than happy to do. I would gladly recommend Paul to anyone who needs help with any locksmithing jobs. A-Able Locksmith is a life saver! Getting locked out when you are in a hurry is probably one of the worst, most helpless feelings. I got locked out on a Sunday afternoon, I frantically called Paul, and even though he was busy he could sense the urgency in my voice.
