Unfortunately I have to downgrade my five star review from back in March. The deadbolt Paul installed just isn't quite right. When I lock the door I have to pull it to get it to connect, and it always scrapes against itself, rather than locking smoothly. It was annoying at first, but when the first big heat wave struck I could not lock it at all. My wife called Paul but he said it wasn't his fault because sometimes materials like the door shift in place over time. He only guarantees his work for 30 days. He wanted to charge us to come out and fix it. When I called back he agreed to come out and fix it at no charge, but reiterated that it wasn't his fault. He drilled out some more of the mechanism inside the door frame. Now when it's hot the lock still scrapes, but with some pushing it will latch. That's not great quality for a $400 lock. I will not be using Paul for future jobs. read more

I needed to change two locks on my construction office trailer. Paul picked up the phone right away when I called at 9 am. I was locked out of my home because my key would no longer turn the cylinder of the door knob lock. When I called, Paul gave me a reasonable quote, and we set an appointment time. He showed up early but I was at Home Depot buying a new lock when he called. (I later saw that he had texted twice telling me he'd finished his previous job early). Paul waited for me until I returned from Home Depot. He was able to help me regain entry by drilling through the old lock after trying various other methods. He communicated what he was doing during each step which I really appreciated. He installed the new lock and even re-keyed it to match my existing dead bolt lock -- at no additional charge. Great service at a reasonable price. I was in a tough spot when a new key I had cut at Home Depot got stuck in the front door lock. I needed to leave but could not. I've recently lost my car keys after a night out. (AND I DIDN'T HAVE A SPARE) I first contacted the dealership but for them to do it and having to bring my car in there just made things very difficult as well as sounding more costly. The following morning he contacted me making sure we were still going to meet and what time he would be there. I have been in need of someone who could work on a specialized Emtek lock for the past 2 years. I have been unable to find someone who had the knowledge and willingness to take apart the mortise lock and figure out why my entire emtek piece was not working properly. Locksmith arrived on time and rekeyed the two locks of our main entrance door. One lock was the original Yale lock, installed when the house was built in 1969. The technician said we were fortunate that he had a set of keys that fit that lock. We were happy that both locks were rekeyed, and the work was completed in a little less than one hour. Paul is very good. We've used him to change all of our locks after purchasing a house, and to install a new electronic deadbolt. He's always on time, is very friendly, and does the job right. He can even make key copies for you (at lightning speed) from his van. He also has great advice on what types of locks to buy; some of them are extremely easy to pick (or bump), while others are very well-made - and I confirmed everything he said by watching Youtube videos of people trying to pick the various types of locks.
