Yesterday evening my family and I were surprised to come home to our guest bedroom locked, which was surprising for us since we didn't even realize it had a lock! We tried several different YouTube videos to try and enter, but due to the old fashioned style of our door knob, could not get the knob to "unlock". Ended up not needing a locksmith. However, the guy I spoke to seemed very responsible. He has a contractor and locksmith license. He said there are many locksmiths that have only locksmith licenses and no contractor licenses who screw up your locks and/or keep a spare copy of your key. With a contractor license, they have to be insured amongst other things. After reading many reviews online, I do believe this guy because many places had Google or Yelp reviews that stated that the locksmith charged an arm and a leg and messed up their locks. I can't say anything about their skills but at least they seem to care, which says a lot compared to other places I've called. read more
