Professional, knowledgeable and timely. Would definitely recommend this company and use them again if needed.

Where can I start, I didn't get the gentleman's name there. I needed a new key fob (mine was broke) and was locked out of my car. I called this place to see if he could send someone to unlock my vehicle for me, gave me a price, ETA for driver to arrive. Everything was perfect today. Driver Arrived at the time that was promised. Drove to the shop to get new fob, told him I was running late about 15 til closing he said don't rush I'll be here waiting for you. He replaced my key and fob in less than 30 minutes. I was in and out happy and relieved. Big thanks to both driver and gentleman at the shop. Will definitely refer family and friends read more

10 out 10 recommend, the guy which I think is the owner was nice and very accommodating, I gave his a broke key that was in 2 pieces and he gave me 1 complete key. read more

William was great! I called and he was able to come out to me in Thousand Oaks the next morning and made me a new car key and programmed it! All for $250, half the price for what Honda dealership quoted me for. read more

Was looking for a duplicate to my son's safe key, after he lost the 2nd. Went in and the individual "had no idea, had never seen that kind of key". It's a sidewinder/laser cut/inverted key, which apparently has only been around in various iterations for 40 years? If there was a security issue to copying the key, that would have been a preferred response to ignorance. His feedback was not believable, helpful, or polite. read more

As I walked in, I was greeted right away. How are you doing young man, doing fine,Thank you. First impressions very important. I'm sure the older gentleman who waited on me was the owner. Anyways wanted to tell you Thank you for your tremendous service in assisting me in making me two keys needed for my Vending machines, and yes they do work. The two keys that I needed made where a speciality key. Home Depot or Lowes did not have this type of key. Must of all the price was also very reasonable. I enclosed a photo of the older gentleman who assisted, service at its Best. Thanks Pop's 23/100 Yelp Challenge.(2018) read more

My front door lock became unusable, because the key cylinder started spinning around making it so I couldn't properly lock or unlock the door from the outside. I called A-1 Lock & Safe and scheduled a repair. The repair guy that came out was knowledgeable and professional. He had my issue fixed in just a couple minutes. read more

It's a shame there's not a lot of options as far as supporting "mom and pop" shops in this category ... very poor customer service. Employee seems angered just by me walking in the door. Then I need multiple copies of keys and that angers him even more. Day 2 I come back (he was out of a key I needed) with no other customers in the store, and I ask him if he can stamp 1 LETTER on these keys to be able to identify them and he grunts that he doesn't have time to do that. It literally took him 3 minutes to make the copies but no time to "stamp" a letter on them. I would literally drive to a different city at this point if I ever needed a locksmith service. read more

I called before going there and the guy sounds unhelpful and impatient. So I decided to give a visit and even worst. A middle eastern guy does not want to duplicate my car keys for two pairs coz he will do only one which doesn't make sense. I ask him why and he told me a lot of bullshit. He even ask why I need 3 keys? He said I have to go to the dealer for the other one and he sound sarcastic and mean. I went to other place and they did it. I ask them about it and they don't know why. If the guy is employed over there, they better fire him because he looks ready for retirement or under paid and will ruin the business. If he owns that place, well goodluck to him coz I'm not going back there and will tell all my friends about that place. read more

What an Excellent establishment!!!! Came in for car keys to be cut as I was turned away from most locksmiths in Thousand Oaks and big chain Lowe's, since I had my own blank keys! The gracious owner, Skip, helped me right away with no question and didn't even charge me!?!? His professional and courtesy goes a long way especially by today's standards! I will ensure to always come here and refer over any future business. Thanks for your kindness and hospitality. Have a wonderful holidays. :) God Bless! read more

So yesterday the key for my motorcycle broke. It did not leave a piece in the ignition but I did not have a spare. Bike towed home. Called around the locksmiths in Simi Valley and no one could help him. Called the dealer and their response was to change the ignition and all locks. EXPENSIVE. Called A-1 and they said they could make a key. He ordered the blank key and was at my house the next morning. 45 minutes later I had a working key and a spare. Great service and the exact price I was quoted. Highly recommend. read more

I've been using this company for years and I am sad to say that I will have to find someone for future locksmith needs. The new owners are rude, unresponsive and have zero follow through... I can't believe how horrible the customer service is now.... read more

Amazing customer service , What a great experience! I couldn't be more satisfied with the work they did for my keys!

I have used A-1 for years!! It just never gets old to deal with these kind, caring, professional gentleman. It's not just the facts they have NEVER changed their pricing on their services, never once have they been rude, nasty or non-professional and the fact THEY TRULY CARE!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME I've used them they are ON TIME, FAST, KIND and NO HASSLES. In this day and age, how many other businesses can we make just "one" of these claims about? If every business ran their business like A-1 how successful would they be? VERY! Thank you again A-1 Lock and Key. Keep up the great way to do business. Lynda P. read more

The owner was rude and acted like my request for help was unreasonable and when I was surprised at his reaction and mentioned how helpful his assistant was the time before when I was there he insisted he never had another employee in the store which is not true I just couldn't understand why he was so rude and disagreeable it only took a minute or two before I left the business and will not return. read more

First off, I took my key blank to the local True Value, since the key I needed copied was bent, they suggested I take the key blank to A1. I love local businesses, they have customer service. I drove to A1, brought in the bent key and the key blank and explained that it only worked one way on my motorcycle. The guy looked at it, and went to work making the new key. 2 minutes later he hands them both to me and says here you go. No charge. Really? I was embarrassed to walk out of there after paying nothing. I highly recommend this business for your lock and key needs. read more

Victor is always very nice and helpful. Duplicated my safe key that nobody had the machine to cut and rv keys for door and ignition.

I was referred to A-1 Lock a& Safe for help with getting a couple of Car ignitions keys made. We had a locksmith by the name of William come out to our home. I brought a 5-pin cylinder lock in from my car to A-1 so they could re-key it to match the rest of the vehicle. Very simple job and the locksmith didn't even have to come out from behind his counter... The locksmith said he could do it and did not give me an estimate or quote for the job. He literally spent 10 minutes on it while I waited and returned the lock to me. He then asked for $75... I couldn't believe my ears. $75 for 10 minutes of work? My doctor charges less and at least she's courteous when she asks me to bend over... Needless to say, I won't be back. A true professional will always give you a quote for the work first, especially if it will be very expensive. If you do feel compelled to do business here, always insist on a full estimate up front and shop around. read more

Friendly, quick, cand easy service! The establishment was clean and organized. I was in and out and was very pleased with the service. The gentleman was so nice and pleasant.
