grilled steak, hash browns, and hash browns
    Mari A.

I had the steak and eggs and they came with hash browns and toast. Everything was okay besides the steak.. I had to put a bunch of A1 to take away from the not so tasty meaty taste. Service was friendly. This was the only place in Crete that was open that early for breakfast. There was a good amount of people there for a Saturday morning but nothing crazy.

When it came to finding a good place to eat in Crete, my sister and I found the options were between 9th St. Grill, China Wall or Cristina's (where you eat Mexican food in a Sonic building). We chose the grill. For an appetizer, we shared a basket of fried mushrooms. The ranch was fantastic, the mushrooms were just like any other frozen, fried mushrooms. For our main course, each ordered tenderloins. Now, in our hometown, tenderloins are the to eat menu item so we were pretty disappointed when our food came to our table. These were the fake kind of tenderloins. With that thin, crumby breading. We are used to hand beaten and hand dipped in flour and milk, huge, fluffy, tenderloins. These were ok and the curly fries were just ok too. The waitress also forgot the slice of American cheese we asked for and my drinking glass was dry and stayed that way for far too long. All in all, I wasn't very impressed.

A dozen hot & naked bone in wings. Love em'

Small town diner fee with small town diner food and service. Nothing super special but decent food and very reasonable prices. If you're looking for a local place with standard American diner menu, this is probably a place to keep in mind.

Would not go back here. Food is expensive and doesn't even taste good. Don't waist your time nor money here.

Servers are rude, food is nasty, and the place just sucks in general. Don't go here. Very disappointing.

A clean moderately priced local eatery. An organized and well managed restaurant in a small community.

Terrible service. Understaffed which is not the customers fault so being rude is unnecessary.

Where do I start... we ordered the Rueben dip as an appetizer and let me tell you. Chunks of corned beef mixed with deliciousness in every bite! Wowza! Even the table next to us heard us and ordered it! Loved it too! Then my hubbs ordered the Corned beef and Cabbage. Beautifully plated and they are not stingy! I ordered the Roast beef and I think I had a half a cow! And the flavors were explosive and it's not even the Fourth! Then we Had to get the cake-Guinness Chocolate Cake w/ Bailey's Irish Cream Frosting! It's a dense, semi sweet, not too much frosting indulgence of a cake. I recommend you wear your "fat pants". Just saying! #delicious

Red Rooster was rated by Yelp a year ago as having the best fried chicken in Nebraska. It was really that good! So I thought the best test of the new restaurant would be the fried chicken. I ordered the 4 piece with mashed potatoes and white gravy. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The breading was off and it was way too salty. On this night it was NOT the best fried chicken in Nebraska. The homemade white gravy was over-salted and tasted out of a jar, unlike the delicious homemade gravy Ron made when it was Red Rooster. Two people at our table said the same about the meatloaf and dark gravy. The gravy was also over-salted and it didn't taste homemade. Service was unusually clunky and we only saw one regular server. Everyone else was new. The decor in the Restaurant was different too. Not bad but just different. I'm hoping this was a one off experience because we really liked the Red Rooster. I'm not sure why the new owners of Route 77 made so many changes to a successful restaurant that was already working well. I hope they figure it out. Last night it was not worth the trip from Lincoln to Ceresco.
