At the time of this review, I've been coming to UKF for about three months. I do one boxing class…read moreper week as more of a way to mix up my normal workouts. When I was looking for a boxing class to attend in the East Valley, I looked at all the suggestions on Yelp, Facebook groups, and even the social media accounts of the locations. When I look for a boxing class, I want to learn technique, get a solid workout, and have fun. I'm not looking for a cardio kickboxing class or an ultra-intense boxing class for high-level boxers. I enjoy the workout, and I enjoy the movements. If you're wondering if you would fit in with the boxing classes, I would say that there are all shapes, ages, and levels at the classes I've been to. I've done drills with high schools, people that are middle-aged, and even those older than me. Everyone is welcome at UKF, and the coaches make sure you work within your level. They wouldn't partner you up with someone much more advanced or vice-versa. I purchased a ten-session package after I did the free one-day trial, and it has been a great investment, IMO. I always finish drenched in sweat, and from what I've heard, some other guys that track their caloric output are pushing 700+ calories burned in a one-hour session. One of the cooler things that I've seen is the kid's classes. The few times I've gone in the evening, it's right after the kid's classes, and these kids ROCK! They have the footwork and pack a punch! Very awesome to see kids building confidence and having fun learning how to box!

The classes are as a group and it has a circuit style but the instructors go around and pay a lot of attention to each one of us in the class! Luckily, I was referred to check NAK out from a good friend. I used to train in two different gyms in San Diego and would always be nervous before stepping into any Muay Thai gym; due to the seemingly intimidating nature. While waiting for my class to start I was greeted by whoever was walking in and who was on their way out. I immediately recognized NAK was a place of integrity and respect. I genuinely enjoyed every minute of my experience, including the part when I felt like my arms were going to fall off. I am happy to become apart of this family and would recommend NAK to anyone of all ages with whatever experience. I look forward to regaining skills that I have learned before as well as learning so much more.

AZMT has created a fun and exciting atmosphere with an attitude to help a member drive to be their best self. In addition to being a member, both of my boys (ages 10 and 5) attend the kids class two or three times each week. After 4 months of them attending, I noticed a significant increase in my older son's self-confidence. The best part is seeing them train side by side.

I trained privately with Travis for a matter of some months multiple times a week and everyone there was always friendly and nice and I'm a pretty quiet no-small talk kinda guy. I also interacted with Thiago a handful of times and he was always open and engaging every single time. This is without a doubt, the PREMIER location in Arizona if you want to learn the art of eight limbs whether it's through private or public instruction. The only reason I stopped going was due to some health complications I got that prohibited me from continuing training because I loved every damn minute of it.

Lastly, I can't say enough about how amazing owners Joe and Renene are. Joe is a great trainer who really motivates you to reach your personal fitness goals. Renene is so incredibly approachable and always answers your calls and texts so quickly. She really works with you to ensure that you develop a routine that is rigorous, yet convenient. I think bro-face told me he wasn't confident that he would be able to defend his tiny (seriously, super-tiny) girlfriend if there was ever a need, but I've seen him slimming down around his face and stomach and walking so much taller, it's absolutely amazing. When Coach opened his gym he told me he would make an exception and let me bring my kids. They're 12 and 10 and absolutely the babies in the room since he wants to keep the gym teen and adult. I'm so grateful that he's let them in to train next to their uncle bro-face! Such an awesome opportunity for them!!
