I've been attending heavy bag boxing/fitness classes for 6 months and the results are showing! Weight lost, strength increased, and having fun! The instructors are great as is Todd (manager). The one star reviews here seem mostly related to billing, but I've been a gym member with different gyms for 15 years, nothing different here. Yes it's a contract, yes it's hard to get out of it if you change your mind, etc. Par for the course. If I could give negative stars for this I would. This business is terrible and unethical. Kudos to those who have had great experiences, but unfortunately that is not across the board. I wouldn't even recommend this gym to my worst enemy. They were quick to take $10 for a 3-day trial and were nowhere to be found when I call and cancel until I left a message the day after the cancellation time-line. Then I didn't receive a call back until a day after I left the message. During my agreement (against my better judgement) I was assured that Drey would contact me and text me on the cancellation day to check in to see how I wanted to proceed....I never received a follow-up. When I received the return call from the message I left, the assistant manager Joel, couldn't do anything but was going to talk to his manager, Todd, and call me back. I never received a call back so I thought perhaps the issue was resolved until I received a charge on my credit card. I called and again, no one could help me at the time and they needed to call me back. It's sad because while I could not proceed with the membership for another few months, I would have signed up in about 2 months after i finished refinancing my home because the gym is small and convenient. They lost this customer and perhaps several more because of this disappointing and unethical approach to service. read more

Most of the instructors are great, it's just not a very customer friendly business model & it's quite expensive compared to other gyms these days that do not require 12 month contracts. Life happens, with sickness, injuries, job changes, etc 12 months is just too long of a contract & would not budge on the buy out, even with a doctors note. I would not recommend unless your life is perfect, you do not plan on ever getting hurt, sick, surgery, or lose your job, it's just not worth the risk when there are so many other no contract, much less expensive options out there. read more

This gym is one of those that is in the business of ripping people off as opposed to providing customer service. I signed up and only ever attended one class before I required surgery for a very serious injury. At the time, I wanted to cancel but I was told that I could continue and put my membership on hold until I could return to the gym. I intended to return so I agreed and put my membership on hold. I then sustained another serious injury and again, I wanted to cancel but once again, they told me to put the membership on hold which I did. However, they began charging my card anyway without asking if it was okay to resume payments. As it turns out, due to my injuries I will never able to return to kickboxing. I have paid $600 and have only ever attended one class. Any reasonable and honest business would at least give me a partial refund due to the fact I was injured and could not attend. I put the membership on hold with their recommendation but I was told, regardless, I would have paid about the same amount to get out of the contract. This is absolutely outrageous given the fact that I have injuries that prevent me from attending. I could have easily gotten a note from my surgeons verifying all of this. This all demonstrates what a shady business this is so I would definitely NOT recommend going to this gym. This says a lot about the people that run it. read more

This is probably my favorite gym. I love the atmosphere, the classes, and the people. I don't think I've ever had so much FUN working out. I love that the instructors really want you to have good form and technique, they will take the time to help you. They offer member appreciation day where you earn prizes and get to try new health products. They have weights if you want to just go lift for a day. The offer children's classes which my niece and cousin has participated in and they had fun while learning a lot! I've taken a few one on one boxing session that were a lot of fun. Go check it out! I couldn't be happier I found knockout fitness in Gilbert!! The staff is so knowledgeable and welcoming. I had my first class 2 months ago and was instantly addicted. They provide you with wraps and gloves if you need them and teach you how to properly wrap your hands. How great is that!? Eric is by far my favorite male teacher!! Every Tuesday and Thursday I look forward to his smile ;) and great music choice! He greets everyone in the class when you start and really helps with making sure you know the combos. He kicks my ass every class but it's so worth it!!! Sophia is the best female teacher of all time! Sunday mornings have never looked so good. I'm going to be real with you all, I was apprehensive at first due to the one star reviews on here (power of the internet, am I right?) but I decided to give this place a try. If I could give this place TEN stars I would! The entire staff has been inviting and really cares about their members. I love the variety of times you can come take a class. The classes are in a group setting, but you get the feeling of personal training as well. I leave every single class feeling energized! I've been here a few times now. I feel so welcomed every time I show up. I've taken Sophia's Class, Eric's Class, and Mason or is it Jason class lol. Regardless they are all amazing, they even themselves don't do the same combos when they teach which makes it so refreshing. I sweat my butt off every time. I've gotten my sister into it as well. In the 4/5 classes I've taken I've already seen a difference especially in my core/Abs and I'm getting a V cut and u love it! I love the Boxing workouts with Eric at this gym. Eric does an awesome job explaining the combos. His energy is infectious! He is patient with my 11 year and he pushes you to get the best workout without making you feel like you are in "boot camp". Eric is awesome!!! I also enjoy talking to Julian at Knockout Fitness. When i signed up, he never put the "hard sell" on. He just gave me the pricing, showed me the deals and when they were expiring, and let me make my choice without feeling pressured. I was in the process of changing jobs January 2020. I called Knockout fitness and explained this to manager. Manager will tell you I am a deranged dramatic uncivilized woman who threatened him (hey ladies, we have all heard this before ammiright?). The manager was condescending and made several inappropriate comments to me early in the conversation that made me feel victimized and just bad about the whole experience. No need to get into specifics, but basically I spent 4 hours on and off the phone trying to find a reasonable way to cancel this membership. Then, a collection agency called me today for an outstanding balance I wasn't even aware of. Honestly, Monica with the agency was nicer to me than Knockout fitness ever was. Their interest is daily so I paid it as to not accrue anymore interest today or get sent to collections. I called Knockout fitness and the manager did say he would call the owner, but at this point I don't think they will work to resolve anything. Even though I know I didn't deserve the treatment from Knockout fitness, I paid the 3X more than the alleged bill to get them out of my life. I no longer can suffer this kind of mental anguish. This is a gym. A gym contract shouldn't be this hard to cancel. The manager told me I signed the contract in a million different ways that agreed to this-- etc. And while that may be true, it's just a really terrible way to treat customers-- especially when you advertise a 6 month contract with month to month after. Month to month should be easy. I was outside the 6 month window. The whole thing was just terrible. Honestly, if it wasn't the manager just being so resistant and judgmental, I think it would have been fine. However, I did proceed to tell manager I would give poor reviews to the facility. He then accused me of threatening him. It's not personal. It's reviews. I asked to speak to someone other than the manager multiple times and was told there was literally no one else to speak too. He said he was calling the owner, but who knows really. The whole situation was horrible so I just paid the collection agency to end it. Additionally, the work out area is carpeted so that's not ideal. I also struggled to find an instructor I like. They don't post which instructors teach when. So sometimes I would go to class expecting one instructor, and then would get an instructor who didn't speak much or didn't play music. It just wasn't what I expected from a boxing gym. So, since my first review this place just stopped impressing me like it used to. I froze my membership for a few months as I was preparing for my wedding and had SO much going on and so much to pay for that I knew I wasn't going to get my money's worth and make it to Knockout for those 3 months. The freezing process of my membership was easy, though they charged a fee of $10 a month to have it frozen, which I don't understand why they would need to do that. After those three months, it was a whole new place. There was maybe one person from the staff I had originally joined with and LOVED, and the rest were all new. And the place just wasn't the same. The classes were different, the vibe was different, and I felt like the new front desk guy would stop at nothing to try and sell me personal training every time I was in there. It was so annoying. I eventually caved and did a session. It was just okay. After my membership had finished and my contract was up, they basically begged me to renew. I was over this place so I didn't want to. The guy at the front desk offered me $20 less on a membership in order to stay. Which was weird to me. I still did not renew. I have a friend who had just started her membership but suddenly needed to cancel her membership because she was moving to California and in with her dad. She was willing to pay a fee and everything when it came to breaking her contract, but they wanted her to pay the whole rest of her membership dues (about $700). That is just absolutely stupid. Management wouldn't budge unless she could give proof on an SRP bill or something that she would be over 50 miles away. She couldn't do that since she would be living with her dad and he was the one on the account, and knockout was not understanding at all. She isn't even going to be in the state and they still want payment. I mean, I understand that she signed a contract, but it is a gym membership. Seriously, come on. That is ridiculous. read more

Super irritated with my experience here. Several coworkers of mine started coming and signing up for memberships. I decided to get onboard with a month to month plan. THEY signed me up on the wrong plan , they added me to a 12 month contract. I caught it within 20 mins of leaving, was told it would be fixed and was it?? NO. So I pay monthly and I am going to do whatever it takes to shut it down. They have you sign up on an electronic signature pad, you don't sign or see a physical paper. I saw the contract after I left bc they emailed my "month to month" agreement. I spoke with JULIAN who said he would take care of it, he acknowledged it was their mistake. Nobody fixed it, and now they are all about holding me to it. Watch them, don't let them screw you too with their shady membership signups. Worse than a used car dealership. read more

I like to tell the story of how my boyfriend and I joined this place while eating ice cream for dinner one night. I mean, who randomly joins a gym while eating a big bowl of ice cream? (In my defense this was Birthday ice cream, so that makes it okay). We both walked out that night with melted ice cream, new boxing gloves, and a month-to-month agreement which we can cancel at any time. I was really excited. A few days after we joined, I read some bad reviews for the other locations of Knock-Out, and I was surprised. I'm still confused by those. I can't judge or make any comments on those as I've only been to Gilbert, and I try not to sign annual contracts for anything unless it's a necessity. We've been going for over a month now, almost 2, and it's been nothing but positive. PROs -The place is so friendly and welcoming. I swear Dan knows every single client's name and never forgets anything you say to him ever. I'm kind of amazed by that. -Diversity of their clientele. This isn't a macho sweaty boxing gym where someone not fitting that description would feel out of place. There are all kinds of people of all fitness levels. Sure, you've got your typical dude who looks like he belongs in a boxing gym, but there are also lots of other people just trying to burn some calories, keep in shape, or tone up. If you think you wouldn't fit in, you're wrong. -The work-out is no joke. I love to hate Jake because he'll hilariously call you on it if you slack off (Tip: be sure to time your laziness for when he's looking the other way). Even when I'm having a blah day, and just want to go through the motions I end up exhausted and sweaty and really glad I showed up. -I think it's a good value. I've just spent an average of $5 per class if I divide it out this month. It's a hell of a class, totally worth it. Plus, there's weights, and cardio equipment available at any time. Personal training too, though I haven't taken advantage of that yet. -Awesome stress relief. It's fun to punch and kick things after a tough day at work. Some days, I have a name and imaginary face in mind to smack down when I show up. I had a bad call with a stupid insurance agent last week which led to a great workout later that night. Thanks Nation-Wide, you suck. CONs -Weekend hours are shorter, which may make it harder for you if you have a busy schedule. -I can anticipate that eventually I may get bored of taking the same class multiple times a week. They do change up the instructors for the time slot that I like, and each is different so that's nice. ---------- I'm pretty sure anyone interested can get a 3 day pass for free. ............Mama said knock you out! read more

This place is seriously the best. The staff are all so incredibly helpful, beengoing here for about a year now and have learned so much while also really upping my workouts. I have been a long distance runner and a yogi my whole life so it's nice to have an additional way to get cardio and build muscle. Not to mention it is super fun. I have been going to Knock for almost a year now and I always enjoy my work out. They have great motivating trainers who always keep the classes mixed up so you're never bored. They include stretching and abs along with the boxing/kickboxing class, so time just flies by and before you know it the hour is over. Much better work out for someone who struggles at a normal gym with machines or treadmills. They do offer a few basic machines and free weights if you choose to use them on your own or for personal training. The Manager Thomas is always willing to work with me on payments and gave me a great price. I highly recommend this gym. read more

The workouts themselves are awesome if you have the good instructors who take the time to help with your form/technique (there are only about 2) the rest are just there to go through the motions. I signed up a year ago with 2 friends and all 3 of us received different prices, with one of my friends getting a deep discount. We were told that they were running a "one time deal" that day, even though I joined 3 days before her, they wouldn't budge on my membership price. I really love kickboxing I just want to find a gym that offers the same prices to everyone, and has instructors that are engaged and encouraging. When I requested to have my membership canceled, they didn't do anything to try to retain my membership by offering a lower monthly price. Everyone at KOF is pretty awesome! One trainer who stands out to me the most is Malick. I've attended his classes and have had the opportunity to have a one on one session with him as well. 5 stars!!! During Malick's class he takes his time showing and explaining the moves, manages to critique you one on one and gives great pointers to help you maximize your workout. I walk out knowing I got a great workout each and every time. During the one on one training session I had with Malick he helped to perfect my kicks and punches making them more affective. I noticed a huge difference after our first class. Since my weekends are packed I do wish they offered more kickboxing classes throughout the day on weekends because I enjoy the workout so much and my mornings are packed. If you're thinking about a kickboxing class I recommend checking this location out and trying a one on one class with a trainer. You won't be disappointed. read more

Since I've joined I have had zero complaints about anything or anyone including other courteous members and their clean facility! As far as contracts, Jason signed me up, no issues! I've had follow up questions with other coaches and managers and everything coincided with initial info! Warning, this is the worst company ever. My 15-year-old son was interested in boxing so we agreed to a six month membership at $69 a month and I had to sign the contract. No big deal. I thought we'll just cancel it after the six months if he was not using the membership. So, needless to say, he only went the first month, however we continued to pay for the full six months to meet our contractual agreements. And the fifth month, I called stating that I needed to do to cancel the membership. I was told I cannot do it over the phone and I need to show up in their office and fill out a piece of paper, but I cannot do that until after I made the sixth payment. June 27 the sixth payment came out of my account. Went to the office on July 5 to sign the cancellation notice I was then told by the gentleman behind the desk, "just so your aware we're going to take another $69 from you on July 27 because you did not give us a full 30 day notice." I was shocked because they told me I wasn't able to cancel until after the sixth payment was made and then to go and they want charge me for seventh month. I asked to speak with the manager, and then the guy told me they don't have a corporate office. But he said he'll have his general manager, Todd, call me. Well Todd called me this morning and he was the rudest person I've ever spoken with in my life. He kept referring back to the contract, but didn't want to listen to me when I told him his staff told me I cannot cancel the contract until after my sixth payment. Todd refused to give me any of his boss's information. This company is a complete joke! BEWARE! They are slimy dishonest people. read more
